He can be a decent Toxic staller with Roost and Dragon Tail, but the existence of Clefable and Mega Diancie kinda ruins his life. You're better off just going offensive with him.
Fatmence is usually better as a defensive pivot with intimidate, and access to Defog (although I didn't check if Dragonite had access to defog and I wouldn't be surprised if it did)

He isn't bad, but if going off of tiers he really can't wall well in an OU environment. He doesn't have the raw bulk of Lugia to take >50% from SE hits, even through multiscale, and that 4x weakness means he can easily get OHKO's even through multiscale. It also doesn't wall as well as many other dedicated walls in the tier.
If you are using Showdown, Salamence is simply better, since it does everything Dragonite does, but isn't crippled by non-full health. Also, it gets access to Wish via ultra-obscure event status giving it more support options.
Dragonite can certainly be a tank, but it lacks the raw bulk and typing to be a good wall. It's doable if you absolutely must, but you have to control hazards and keep an eye out for anything that looks like it might have an Ice move.

So we're learning about Southern Alola on Aug. 12. What do you guys expect they'll reveal that day?
I feel that this will be a more in-depth look at the island layout compared to Melemele. We barely learned about Melemele, but since this is a "South Alola Guide", it seems almost obvious they'll give us some town names and confirm or de-confirm is that icy peak contains the elite four.
Lastly, I think they'll also reveal the guardian of that island.
Anon you'll get a bunch of vague bullshit with pics of the island and maybe some city names (we didn't even get that for Melemele mind you). Don't go expecting them to confirm the location of the League before the games come out.

I thought the magazine referred to the fact that Alola as a whole are southern islands, not that they'd be focusing on the southernmost island of Alola. I figured it was just an overview of the entire region.
