Where are the Mega Evolutions?
Mega Evolutions were pretty huge in marketing XY and ORAS, but we haven't seen ANYTHING in regards to Megas in Sun/Moon.
What do you think? Do you think they're waiting to reveal a new mechanic like the rumored Synchro stuff? A significant nerf to Mega Evolutions judging from how much Megas like Mega Kangaskhan dominated VGC? Retconning Megas entirely?I would love for Megas to be retconned but we all know that'll never happen.
Megas weren't announced for X&Y until the august issue of corocoro, and we'd already been getting a steady stream of information since the games were announced in January. We've been getting information on Sun and Moon for about two months now, so I'd say to expect information on new megas a little bit down the line.

Right, but that was a new feature. They started getting shown off earlier for ORAS if I remember correctly, especially since we already knew about megas.
I guess they've been showing us new Pokemon instead of megas, but if there are still megas of old Pokemon, why wouldn't they throw one in the mix every now and then?
I'm personally skeptical about the return of megas. On the one hand, it makes no sense to get rid of them, but on the other hand, there's no confirmation of them in any way yet, except for the bracelets that don't really look like keystones.

Everyone has Pokemon Go. Adults and kids alike are going outside and asking people they dont know about pokemon locations. My local pizza shop offers discounts to people on Team Valor. Friends are going in groups hunting pokemon on my college campus.
Pokemon is making news headlines again, but not just for new game releases. Its something everyone is doing and the adoption is so big that there are PSAs on how to be safe when going outside. Even the police are going to pokestops and lures to catch pokemon.

On a similar note to you, OP, I used an Umbreon in W2 solely because of the novelty of being able to catch an eevee in the wild. I never had a lot of love for the eeveelutions before but Umbreon definitely won me over, surprisingly tanky for a Dark type. It was pretty much the MVP of that party
I thought Glaceon was a frail one and only used her for the type expert tournaments in BW2, boy was I wrong, she swept all teams with Blizzard. She's a sis now and part of the team. Same with Frosslass too. She knocks out all with her Ice punch. I wish I could find a physical ghost move for her though

When I discovered batton pass teams I had an Espeon in my team. It was the ultimate weapon when the set up was done. I won so much battles I fell in love with it and all the shitmons of my team. Like Ninjask, Venomoth and Mr.Mime.

I've played Pokémon red and fire red so Gen 1 was enjoyable but when I tried Gen 2 a couple of years ago I hated it. My questions are:

>Are ROMs any good and should I play them.
Also for now I'm into the normal games that came out as part of the series, so I don't feel like the obscure spin-offs would be particularly helpful.

XY is boring as fuck but it's easy enough for starters/people coming back. After that, I recommend playing Platinum, HGSS, BW and/or BW2. Those games are the absolute pinnacle of the franchise, and they're significantly longer, harder and better.
