How to progress in PTCGO, tl;dr edition:
>complete all Trainer Challenges (Cheat Engine's speedhack strongly recommended to speed up AI games)
>play through using Basic decks to unlock them for versus play
>farm Versus Mode theme ladder for Tokens and Tournament Tickets
>Enter Theme format tournaments whenever possible
>enter Standard/Expanded ticket tournaments and accept that you'll lose
>you'll get tradable tournament chests and sometimes tradable packs
>DON'T OPEN THEM
>Instead, trade them for the cards you actually want for a deck you want to build, most cards go for like 1-3 packs each.

Who thought trade-only evolution Pokemon was a good idea? I can't evolve anything from the pre-3DS era because Wifi is discontinued and no one plays the old games. Even on current gen it's a pain to find an anon to trade with and then they have to give it back.
The simple solution is to have some kind of machine in the Pokecenter which simulates a trade to evolve these Pokes. Why can't they do that? Or for Pokemon like Electivire just have it so using an electirizer on an Electabuzz evolves it.
Just frustrated I can't use some of my favorites pokes that are trade evolutions anymore without pokegenning them

If you have two games you can just put a zigzagon on gts and trade it for the pokemon you want to evolve
