I still can't get over how obscure of a reference the name "Cussler" is, especially for someone from Japan.
Clive Cussler and Raise the Titanic aren't exactly well-known in the US where the author is from, let alone on the opposite side of the Pacific.
Hell, I'm not even sure if the novel "Raise the Titanic!" was ever published in Japan. Apparently the 1980 box office flop found its way over there, as pic related is a Japanese movie poster, but even that doesn't explain how they would have heard of him:
At least on all of the US movie posters I've seen, Clive Cussler's name is either the second-from-the-last slot, or nowhere on the poster at all, because he had extremely little involvement in the making of the film.
Long story short(er): How the hell did they even hear about him to name the ship after him? It's not like they named this ship the "Cameron" or something (thank god).
I figure that somebody, somewhere in the Pokémon anime staff, really, REALLY likes the Titanic itself to even have that name cross their mind.

/vp/ also has this one guy that spends 15 hours a day in the anime discussion thread posting the same troll posts over and over again alleging that a romantic subplot (called "Amourshipping") involving Ash Ketchum and Serena is supposedly dying or not progressing. Serena has a canon crush on Ash, and Ash himself (though not officially in love with her by any means) has shown increasing signs of care/concern/affection for her as the series has progressed (though he is NOT confirmed to have a crush on her). The subplot has affected the development of both characters in the series in various ways, but especially in ways that involve the two characters' goals. This is not some dumb headcanon, this is what is actually happening. It's cute, and it's quite popular with those who watch the anime. Even among those who aren't huge fans of it — and I'm not a huge fan of it by any means — there's no denying that the subplot exists thanks to all the marketing/promo materials promoting Serena's crush on Ash.
However, this one guy spends a dozen hours every day trying to find ways to piss off people who really enjoy the subplot. He feels the need to "remind" people that "Amour has not progressed," or making up shit about how "Serena will fall out of love with Ash and into love with some other guy because the setup is there/because Ash isn't allowed to have a girlfriend because I say so/because reasons ," or spamming the same five or six images as "evidence" that Amour is making "no progress."
