What was the point of Xerneas having a neutral and active mode? Yveltal didn't have this. It seems so misplaced and pointless.
I'm guessing it's related to all the supposedly cut content.

When I got a Xerneas in the GTS (I played Y) I was pretty surprised thinking that someone sent a shiny one.Until I noticed the lack of the red star in the status screen.

By past trends, it'll probably be 3DS, with extra features for New 3DS.
Although it's difficult to draw much correlation when every gen tries to buck the trends.

I'm going through the post-game content in White 2. I want to complete the Pokédex, so I want to spend more time in some areas and catch all the available Pokémon. So I need low-level Pokémon to get those low-level Pokémon down to low health without killing them. So I have a low-level Koffing and a low-level Basculin to poison and do damage to other low-health Pokémon without killing them, so I can catch them.
However, there are also trainers that are even tougher than the champion, so I need my actual high-level team at full health to defeat them.
Am I supposed to be going back-and-forth to the Pokécenter and swapping Pokémon out and in, or is there some strategy I'm not aware of?

I bought myself a new 3DS this Christmas and I'm looking to transition back into Pokemon, after a decently long hiatus, through either Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.
I have played through all the games, in-depth, up to Gen III and a halfheartedly through Gen IV (Platinum). I know I've probably missed a lot in that time.
Is there anything of grave importance that I should know about before I get back into it? I've only heard of mega evolutions and certain 3ds apps that (might ?) hand out perks. Anything that would make my transition more painless would be greatly appreciated.

Is Flash Cannon really worthwhile coverage on Hydreigon? Considering most relevant fairies that are relevant save for Clefable are either neutral to Steel-type attacks, or hit harder by its other coverage options.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been thinking. Everybody else seems to be slapping Flash Cannon onto it to cover Fairies, but most of them are too specially bulky
