Is reality a test for spiritual attainment? or is it just a fart? am I here to realize the transience of material things and enter into the God-field or am I here because iunno leptons or some shit lmao? Mysticism makes intuitive sense to a truth seeker, and no one would doubt that there are some really beautiful ideas in it, but is it just a case of too good to be true?
>>17032456
>is it just a case of too good to be true?
In a word, no.
>>17032463
you'll have to give us more than a word for this to mean anything.
>>17032470
>Mysticism makes intuitive sense to a truth seeker, and no one would doubt that there are some really beautiful ideas in it
What more is it supposed to mean? It's not just a scam people run because they have nothing better to do with their lives. Life is legitimately amazing sometimes.
what are /x/'s thoughts on sky trumpets? I've heard many theories and when today I heard one at lunch I was wondering what your beliefs are.
>>17032190
Yes trumpets are the nices of instruments.
I strongly belive.
What the fuck are you talking about.
>>17032236
there are many reports of mysterious sounds resembling trumpets with no known source. so seemingly they come from the sky
Have you had such? And if the answer is "yes" - what was it? How did it affect you and your life? Furthermore, can you explain it or is it still a mystery till this day?
Right, I'll begin by sharing one of my own. And I aplogize in advance for the wall of text. Please bare with me.
(Will post it as a reply since it's a really big wall'o'text).
>created this exact post in /x/
>post was scrapped for no reason by janitor
>hates life
>is now nihilist
>The event
Before I begin though, I have to share something on the side - all in the name of context.
Since the day I was born, I've always had the most uncanny and strangest of luck. To begin with, I was born half-dead and it was believed that I wouldn't make it, yet against all odds - I did. Later down in life I've constantly brushed shoulders with death and always survived (I've been poisoned, stabbed and left to bleed out, been dragged and drowned by the currents of the sea and...more...yet something always happend to "divert"me from my doom. Not to mention the side fact that, for years up until "the event" I had a non-stop, stable flow of fortune - I would constantly, almost on a daily basis find things of minor to great value, events will turn to favor me fully and things in general would always go the way I wanted them to. In short, everything was bizzarely perfect.
But, as I already hinted - all of that didn't last. And yes, I know that nothing I've said up till now is "special" or "supernatural" and so on. I agree with the fact that some people are just born lucky and that also luck is very temporary and unpredictable.
But here is the thing.
( Part 1)
>>17032177
(Part 2)
Everything changed after I had a certain "dream" 13 years a go. It was a nightmare within a nightmare within another. And no matter what I did - I couldn't stop it. Every time when I shcoked myself awake I discovered that I was still dreaming or in the rare case in which I truly woke up - the moment I closed my eyes after that, I would instantly fall asleep and it would all continue from where it had stopped. The nightmare itself, felt that went on for years, during which - every day was...

People of 4Chan's /x/, what is your paranormal experience?

ghost blowjob woo woo woo
I'm in a position to make professional short films, so I want to make 3-5 minute films based on creepypastas or other spoopy/weird scenarios and possibly create an anthology movie
Any decent suggestions would be great (apart from Jeff the Faggot or Slender Man)

>The hitchhiker Andy picked up on that July afternoon was one of the stranger people he had met. She had, after warm thanks for stopping, and a moment or two of silence, proclaimed herself to be able to grant a wish. The conjuration she had performed in support of this was quite remarkable- once the sound of the cymbal had stopped ringing in Andy’s head, he was quite impressed.
Now Andy, good Christian that he was, was always of the opinion that you should do a good deed for...

Seems like the final image in scary shorts always makes it.
Had a thought just sitting here, you know the trope of a knock at the door, and then no one's there? What if some lady answers the door like that twice, three times, then turns around and walks back to the kitchen. Then when she turns the corner into the kitchen, camera captures something sitting in the den. Similar idea to Babadook, but I think it can be bonechilling.
Kind of like this scene in Insidious

Is there any good argument that suggests reality isn't simulated? The way I see it everything points to us living in a simulation.
There's so many conveniently fitting rules that fit a simulated universe, both on the larger scale of the cosmos, but also on the smaller scale of human behaviour and biology.
I'm not really if it would be comfortable to know that every time I sleep an autosave is made or if I instead should be scared becasue I might spend thousands of years in stasis between each day. Also solipsism
>>17031404
the word and idea of simulation was made by humans.
>>17031428
You could also say that the word and idea of dimension was created by humans, and yet..
>>17031448
you could say a lot of thing but what I said has nothing to do with that.
Hi, /x/. Recently, I've bought a book that contains a large list of Hermetic ritualistic magick. These spells are taken in context of the Corpus Hermeticum and the Greek Magickal Papyrus.
Such spells range from protection; invoking vision, appearing in the dreams of a certain someone, to attaining a daimon (similar to a familiar spirit or monadic personal spirit), to attract lovers, etc etc.
It also has detailed sections regarding historical nuances-- whether it be the many cosmologies that come together to form working Hermetic thought (such as Egyptian, Greek,...

I'd like to read about the "appearing in someone's dream" spell, Thoth.
>>17031312
Good day.
I'd like to know if there's anything about manifesting (or invoking vision?) a spirit such as a guide or familiar.
>>17031332
Cool. The original spell for this has the magician speaking into a consecrated lamp in order to achieve the desired effect; however, in the spirit of Hermetic thought, in that each initiate can, for theirself, create their own practices to a degree; I believe any sacred object would work. I whispered the invocation below into my bag of runes, for instance.
Here's the text:
"If you wish to appear to someone at night in his or her dreams, magically address your lamp on a nightly basis with this...

The rest of the time is spent on studying math and physics. I do still seem to have a lot of free time and want to become more efficient at thinking, what are your ideas /x/? drugs?

I'm going to start a paranormal/haunting show, something similar to Ghost Hunters/Ghost Adventures but with less production and with a really small team (2 people).
I wan to capture the real "alone in a haunted place" experience and have it be as genuine as posible.
Questions/Advice are welcome.

Just ask him or carry some occult books around like "initiation into hermetics" and he's bound to ask about it
Apporach him with a cross and bible and scream in jesus name and make him accept jesus in his life. He might turn violent and reject the cross but stay strong

Hey /x/
I only ever come to 4chan for /fit/, never been to this board b4 today so I'll start off with this:
I don't believe in any of this magic, imaginary friends, monsters, ghosts or demons shit. I just figured this was the most appropriate place to post about something bothering me.
Nothing really gives me the creeps, but my apartment does. When I'm lifting, riding my cycle, soaking in the bath, I feel like somethings watching me.
>Around July
I had a few washers behind my computer table left over from building my computer chair that I never picked up. They were all lined up in a row, like a person did it. Shrugged it off what ever.
>September
I had a few dimes laying around on my dresser that I know for a fact were thrown down in no order. I noticed one night they were lined up same as the washers.
>Thanksgiving
Came home with groceries, pencils on my floor lined up in rows. Toothbrush comb soap shampoo all lined up in bathroom.
Convinced at this point someone is breaking into my apartment and fucking with me but it's wishful thinking if I'm going to be honest as an anon. Hard to sleep here tonight. It's 530, stuck on the couch and I can't bring myself to go into my bedroom and I've picked up smoking again.
Is this a symptom of some kind of mental disorder I'm not familiar with?
You're not alone
>>17030187
Kek wtf
Anon show that ghost you don't give a fuuuck.
walk around your place jerking it saying," This is for you."
Bust that must on those dime and wipe your ass with that ouija board yoel your going to go out and buy and tell that fag to fuck off.
Hey /x/ I was looking at this, does anyone want to help me improve/update it? I've already updated some of the Satanism tree. Text is calibri light size is 11, red text means the sect is no longer existent.
>>17030114
My updates.
I am impressed OP, but your Dharmic religions are severely lacking.
Zen Buddhism consists of Chan Buddhism(Chinese) and Zen(Japanese).
Within Chan there is Northern and Southern Chan. Northern Chan then developed into Zen.
Within in Zen there are also different schools like Tendai, Nichiren, and Shingon.
The differences between this schools has mainly to do with methods, practices, goals, and views.
Tibetan (Vajrayana)(Tantrayana) Buddhism exists out of more then 10 different schools or sects, with different views, philosophies and major differences.
