Hey guys, I'm not sure if you remember me. But about 2 months back or so I had a thread or two up about an abandoned house I went to? I found some pretty weird stuff. In the end I found a note, and it said "RUN NOW", does anyone here remember that? If you do, could you link the archives for those who don't remember or know?
I'm sorry I've been away for so long.. it's just. Weird stuff has happened. I stopped going to that house after I started noticing things like my phone receiving calls from blocked numbers several times throughout the week of me revisiting the house. They wouldn't say anything, there would just be a strange gurgling sound and a scream. While correlation does not equal causation.. it was pretty strange. I backed off for a while (Lol, as if I shouldn't have before XD) . Things seemed to settle down, but I've started receiving random calls again now, and it's starting to weird me out. The most recent call said "You think this is over? It's far from over" and then continued with the gurgling, then the scream again.
I mean it sounds totally cheezy, but i dont fucking know. Help me out here? I mean what do you think is going on? Related, not related? What?
You're being trolled IRL, possibly by friends.
>>15409000
That's very possible. Also, can you help me find the archives? I don't know where on Earth to get them.
Um.. bump??
isn't there a reason we're supposed to be afraid of "haunted houses" and halloween spooks in general?
Not continuing, but in light of the recent McKamey Manor mess, I just wanted to share some thoughts about the subject of haunted houses, especially "extreme" haunted houses. Bad things can happen when things are taken to extremes. Sometimes, something that is meant to be "fun and scary" can end up being terrifying, nightmarish, and altogether too literal when taken to extremes.
I wish I'd never heard of that damn manor.
yours truly,
anonymous

I'm also interesting because there no haunted house that is actually scary.
The whole "Mckamey Manor" stuff is just publicity. It's just another generic haunted house.
Are there any actual "haunted houses" that are actually scary?

Yes, pretty much. Or are the type that thinks people actually get tortured in the McKamey Manor for some super duper ultra secret webcam broadcast?
Here's a link for you

So I'm coming to a loss for documentaries to watch. I keep them on pretty much as background noise while studying. Trying to study now and I can't seem to find any ones I haven't watched or haven't gone full retard. Here's where I ask for you guys to point me in the direction of some awesome ones preferably about the occult, medical marvels, history, or death. No aliens or psychics please, they don't personally interest me. Also preferably in English as I'll be mostly listening to them.
As thanks I have the entirety of the Scary Stories Treasury by Alvin Schwartz with the original illustrations by Stephen Gammell. I'm sure a lot of you have some great childhood memories of these. It's been a while since I've been on /x/ so I'm not sure if someone has done this recently. These are all scans from my own book that has wear and tear as it was second hand so it's not perfect. Every page is scanned as if you were reading the book except for a few blank or pointless ones. Even the info section is scanned for further details about the origins of old legends the stories are based on.
I'll be posting these in the order they are in the book regardless. I feel weird after all the effort scanning them over a year ago and having never shared them. Hope you enjoy.
Hey, anonymous drawfag here. Wondering if you guys were still interested in going to the winterball, like going stag or something. I would love to draw for you guys if you have any requests.
We're going with /int/ and anyone who says otherwise is starting shit again. Will you draw us together?

>driving to gf's house 6 hours away
>decide to leave at midnight, so we can surprise the family
>be me, gf, and her sister and sisters bf in car
>driving along at around 3 am
>everyone is asleep except me
>middle of rural texas, no towns or anything for miles
>see car on side of road with hazards on
>decide to call the cops, just in case guy needs help
>right as I pull out my phone, I see some guy walking down the side of the road
>start slowing down to see if he needs help
>getting closer and see that this dude is atleast 7 ft tall
>start feeling a bit antsy
>wake everyone up, just to help calm my nerves a bit
>getting closer and realize it's walking on all fours, almost like a skinny ape
>gf yells at me to just keep going and call the police
>agree, but really want to get a better look at this thing
>down to about 5 mph and about to pass by it
>all of us look over and realize it's face is human
>it turns over to look at us, its face is uncanny valley as fuck
>almost i-Robot looking
>all of us scream and I slam my foot on the gas
>it whips its 5 ft long arm at the car and clips the back
>speed the fuck out of there, see it galloping towards us
>lose him in about a minute, but the girls in the car are crying and me and other guy are both freaking out
>finally call the cops and tell them about what happened
>said they'd go check it out
>never found out what happened with that
Still scares me when I think about it. Take a completely different route to get there now, just to avoid that damn stretch of road. Really wish the damn cops had gotten back to me after they figured out what happened.

So what does /x/ think about Alchemy? Is there some validity to it, or is it just s a pseudoscience performed by the superstitious, in a time where little was understood about the natural world?
There's validity to it. Alchemy is the basis of chemistry. You really CAN turn lead into gold. It's just hard to do safely and stably. Especially when you lack the basic understandings of atoms.
>>15375877
Yes, the two aren't mutually exclusive.
Its just chemistry which still includes all the crazy superstitious bullshit that doesn't work.
>>15375877
>a pseudoscience performed by the superstitious
Alchemy wasn't a pseudoscience. It was a full-blown science, as best as it was understood at the time. It was research in alchemy that taught us how elements actually behave. A lot of the 'weird' shit in alchemy comes from logical, if incorrect, assumptions about the nature of nature.
What horror manga actually creeped you out /x/?
Amigara Fault. Yeah, I know the translation is kind of silly, but it touches on a few of my phobias in a big way.
Fuan no Tane made me afraid of the dark.
I hadn't been afraid of the dark ever since I was a kid. Like, since I was 12 or so. But then at 25, I read Fuan no Tane and that went to shit.
At 29, I'm still afraid of the dark. Or, not absolute darkness, I like absolute darkness. Fuan no Tane made me afraid of twilight.

Really? I found it awfully campy at times. Sure, it's unsettling, but it really isn't terribly scary for me.
I sold my soul for occult knowledge.
Anything you been wondering about, /x/, or would like to discuss this morning??
did you know that Nicki Minaj's real name is Onika Tanya Maraj?
>>15358874
No. That knowledge was beyond the scope of the Infernal Kingdom. How did you come by it? What chasm of forbidden Darkness did you explore in order to find this gem of mystical lore? And are you a wizard?
What can you tell me about involuntary clairvoyance?

McKamey Manor
So, for those of you who haven't been following, McKamey Manor is a "haunted" attraction that has began to gain media interest this Halloween season.
It is an "extreme" haunt, that is basically a form of "legal torture". After signing a waiver agreeing to being bound, subjected to physical touch, submersion in water, force feeding of rotted food and other substances, confinement, and other such things. The experience lasts a total of 6-8 hours. And you are not allowed to leave unless Russ deems you unfit to continue. There is no safe word. Nobody has finished his 8 hour gauntlet. He offers a shorter tour as well, clocking in at 3 hours.
Russ has a screening process to weed through the 17,000 people on his waiting list. After appealing to him on Facebook, you have to be interviewed before being accepted in.
A video he's put together explaining why he is going to "tone down" the experience:
http://youtu.be/Cd1_72Pb42U
The reason this is being discussed is the oddity of Russ's attitude towards participants and his sadistic nature. The haunt was said to cost a fortune, yet he does not charge for participation. He also streams the event for an unknown group in Vegas.
A pastebin compiling some notes. It's a work in progress

Bad b8 m8

On the 21st December 2012 a member of Deviant art known as 'thelonegunman' dissapeared forever. In his last contact with people he explained that he had been given a silver hard disk shaped like a key at an 'end of the world' party from his brother, a freemason. The hard disk allegedly had a bunch of surveillance files of 4chan members, information about secret societies and plans, and these images. He came to a conspiracy livestream account concerned for his well being but in spite of the efforts of those in contact was him, he vanished within a fortnight, never to be heard of again.
Through contact with family and people who knew him on facebook it is now known that the police have not been able to find a body or know of his whereabouts. A letter written not long before his dissapearance, found by a close friend suggests that he knew that something was going to happen to him. This is the contents of that latter:
'We are all part of a machine. Only the priviledged or cursed among us are able to see the grand designs of this machine. Psychadelic states, transcendental experiences, meditation, all of the religions of the world are an attempt to explain the linked apparatus that we are all a part of.
Pure consciousness allows to experience the ecstacy of this revelation, however there are those in this world who's duty it is to keep the world in the dark, and suppress this enlightened state.I know this now to be a fact'
'In the pursuit of knowledge, the curious inevitably comes to some kind of wall, where either they surrender their search of total meaning and focus their energies on the mundane, or on discover of a conspiracy at the heart of all things, to challenge the prison guards of this reality, and if successful, to face the wrath of an invisible army beyond fathomable to the human imagination.
Human transcendence has been designed to be temporary. It has been deemed that homo sapiens are not currently at a state that they are able to comprehend absolute consciousness.'
'What is the conspiracy at the core of our enlightened Western society, where tolerance is preached towards medi-eval and fundamentalist religions, and yet, for an individual who questions basic philosophic or existential ideas, he is at the mercy of a system designed to lock away all eccentric attitudes and deem them as 'mentally ill' or 'schizophrenic'?
The medical profession holds the seeker in a mental police state. We are prevented from knowing ourselves by our society.'
Hello /x/ I have a short story to tell you. Pic Related.
I didn't sleep well last night, that's why I'm posting this so late today. I kept trying to roll back over and couldn't get to sleep all night, and most of today because of construction companies doing maintenance on the ditch behind my house. I finally decided to get out of bed and share with you what I saw, well, what I experienced last night. I live in the suburbs, we moved into our new house about 8 months ago. I live here with my fiance and a room mate, normal stuff. Quiet neighborhood. We got to know our neighbors well. Old couple to our left, a family to our right, had a few kids. However a week ago the family to our right up and left, leaving all of their things behind. A trampoline and some kids toys still sit in the back yard full of leaves and a broken down wooden shed. The day after they left, the home owner came by, placed a for “For Rent” sign in the ground out front and left. He never set foot into the house. I'm sure he hadn't been into the house since then the weather here has been astounding so we've kept our windows open, and even if I was asleep I'd be woken up by him opening the front door because of how close it is to our house.
A week has passed since they left, no cars in front of the house, no activity besides the mailman taking mail to their mailbox which has begun to clog up the metal box. I think today he just kept walking past the house after he dropped off a package here. We had just finished building a crappy metal shed Wednesday and started taking things out there last night because we're short on storage inside of our house. My fiance noticed that there was a light on in a back room of the vacant house next to ours, which was intriguing as I had been home all day and didn't see anyone go inside.
>>15327738
I'm a night owl and stay up most nights browsing different forums, there wasn't a whole lot going on, and everyone else was in bed at the time. I'm a curious person, but I wont be so much anymore after last night. Probably should've minded my own. I don't know why, but I felt compelled to check the place out. It could've been a homeless person using the lights, there has been a problem with that in the cities around us, people sneaking into vacant houses(ironic huh). The door to the back yard was left open, so I walked past it. I stepped on a girls sandal because I wasn't paying attention, not much in the yard except some toys and junk, leaves. The window to the room was closed, I was hoping to hear some signs of something so I could get along my way and get answers. But I was pulled further into checking the whole thing out...like I said I should've minded my own and called police or something.
I went around to the other side of the house, and knocked on the front door. I heard nothing from inside, so I waited a bit, and knocked again a little louder the second time. I got a weird sinking sensation when I heard no sign of anything inside. I should have listened to the warning, but I inched my hand to the doorknob, to see if it was open. (un)Fortunately it was unlocked. I stepped inside and it was a bit warm, it felt amazing the last few days, but the windows were all closed so I guess it got stuffy and warm. I called out the usual “hello” and “anyone here” kind of stuff, but I didn't hear a thing. The first thing I noticed as soon as I stepped in was the heat inside, because it rushed out to greet me, but as I pushed the door open, I saw the refrigerator open. The compressor was off, it wasn't working, but the light bled onto the floor across the kitchen. The blinds were good enough to conceal the light in there I guess, I hadn't seen it from outside.
>>15327741
There was some uneaten pizza on the stove, I took pictures of it all feeling awkward like I was inspecting a crime scene or something.
I stepped back into the living room and once again called out asking if anyone was there besides me. I didn't hear anything so I began to walk farther into the house, snapping a picture of the living room. My eyes had to readjust to the darkness in there, but it seemed like something moved across my field of vision down the hallway. My stomach knotted up again, and the room became cold drastically. It felt like my body weighed 1000 pounds and it was difficult to move, which was all the more terrifying because the front door, my way out, was only a mere five feet away from me. At this point I knew it was time to get the hell out, I turned to the door and reached my heavy arms out as my ears began to..like...pulse I guess. My hand contacted the door, and somehow I opened it with the little strength I had. I fell outside onto the steps, tumbling halfway down them. The door inched shut behind me, as I was able to pull myself up to walk away as I had my strength back.
>>15327746
I stared blankly into the sky as the leaves crunched beneath my feet as I walked back to my home, replaying what just happened, not wanting to believe it. I walked up the steps, got ready to open my door and stood there for what felt like about five just standing and thinking. I don't even remember what about, just lost in thought. Come to find out the time that had passed since I left my house until I returned was actually about 45 minutes.
I got back onto the boards and forums I normally browse, not even reading them, just clicking links and what-not. Dazed. 4 AM came around and I shuffled into bed, but I found myself incapable of drifting asleep, and so here we are now, a restless night removed from setting foot into that house telling you what happened. I have no business ever going back there again, but in a way I feel like I need to know what is in there. If the inability to sleep continues, I'm not quite sure what I'll do, and it may not be a smart choice.
I have some pictures enclosed I just uploaded from my phone.

Loveland Frogs
The first sighting was of strange creatures seen under a bridge, and the witness sounded as if he could not decide whether he had seen fairy-tale trolls, reptoids or things that were half human, half frog. Later sightings were less confused, but still contained inconsistencies. Witnesses claimed that what they had seen was certainly frog-like, but they disagreed on the details. Some reported human-sized frogmen, some reported tiny frog-sized frogmen, and some reported just plain giant frogs with no noticable human features. This may sound like a really stupid legend, but there was enough evidence, including tracks, that both the police and the FBI investigated.
