/x/ I think I've lost my ability...if I ever had it at all.
I used to have limited, what I would call for lack of a better term, psionic abilities. I could
-sense and identify auras at a distance
-sense non human entities
-repel non human entities
-have completely chaotic precognition, mostly via dreams. I would dream sometimes hours that would occur days, weeks, or even months/years later to then realize via massive deja vu/vertigo I've forseen what is happening. Almost always this would be events of no significance, just foresight? I guess?

I seem to be losing it. For some reason it's much harder and it feels like I can't accomplish it at all, especially sensing things. Why would that be? Is it because I'm older? More stressed?

How can I talk to spirits safely? I would try an ouija board, but I don't have one on hand and I'm not sure I'd want to risk it. Has anyone here ever tried to make contact and had success?

Ouija boards can be made with just a piece of paper, a pen, and a shotglass. There's nothing special about the boards you can buy. Alternatives include any kind of divination tool (tarot, runes, etc), microphones for EVP, meditation, astral projection, and some random chaos magick ritual.

Definitely don't want to go with a ouija board as you might get something to answer that you don't want to mess with.

Try opening a thinny - or thin place - through sigil work. I lost the exact directions on how to do this, but I'll do my best to give you what I can from memory.

Just know that you can't open thin places within good distance of each other or it'll make your thinny weak.

Light some incense and a few candles, then draw this sigil facing north or upwards in a small space, as small as you can get it. The smaller the space, the stronger your place. After you open the thinny, face the sigil while sitting on the other side of the space, preferably against the wall, focus on the area in front of you. Try not to focus on the sigil itself, but instead of the spirits that will appear in the room before you. If you can't see them, just be patient - they will come eventually. Remember to focus on what's not there - because that's where they'll show up. Ask questions to bait/lure the spirits, or otherwise interact with them to bring them through. Just don't freak out when they come, that will scare them away. Remember to be patient and calm- opening a thinny is like putting a net into water. You'll never catch anything if you're too quick and you'll scare the fish away if you're too rowdy.

You can leave this thinny for as long as you like. When you're done with the area, erase the sigil or scratch through one of the lines, essentially "breaking" it.

As for drawing your sigil, get it as similar to pic related as you can manage. Most of those that I've spoken to who have done this recommended using spray paint as their medium.

I'll update if I remember using anything else. I may make another post on a different method of contacting spirits if this one doesn't work for you, or if you feel like this is the wrong way to go about doing so.

Thanks, I really appreciate that! Very helpful information. I don't want to work with anything that's 'black magic' etc. This wouldn't be in that realm, would it? Is it risky, or possible to draw in negative forces?

Greetings /x/

I have traveled here from the year 2044.
I am part of a small team of scientists, who August 11th 2044, experienced a time shift. As of the time of my departure from my own timeline, we have established a few facts.

1) The time shift occurred the 11th of August 2044, hence, someone from my timeline must have gone back in time that day, changing the present, to one where modern physics and mathematics have devolved to the primitive states of your time.

2) Since we, our team, all noticed this time shift August 11th 2044, we can deduce that the time traveler must have gone back in time on that day.

3) We have traced the time-shift to an incident which prevented the revolutionizing of physics and mathematics in our timeline.

I will not reveal what this incident entails, partially because it will seem insignificant and irrelevant to you, but also of fear that I will create a butterfly effect and put my timeline into more turmoil.

If I succeed in my mission, this incident will be prevented, and if all goes well, in the year 2016, you will see a new golden age of scientific breakthroughs.

Since I do not know the nature of the incident, I cannot know for sure if my life is in danger. I do not know if the other traveler is hostile, or if it was simply an accident.

In any case, it does not matter if I succeed in this cycle or not, I will keep trying until my timeline is restored.

I am willing to answer any questions you may have, granted they are relevant and stay within reason.

Why the fuck would an actual time traveler go to a cantonese cartoon imageboard with a specific board where people like to pretend they're paranormal creatures.
Oh, right, because you're someone who likes to pretend he's paranormal creatures.

Hi /x/

I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't have strong beliefs in the supernatural but that it always been at least really interesting for me to learn about. Kind of like how a person can take to reading science fiction books without seriously believing that in the near distant future the star wars will take place. I'm only making this point to explicate that I'm not some looney toon reading too much into a handful of coincidences.

I'm a music producer. Have been for a while. Started doing it professionally but still dump more effort into my own personal projects. I've had a tremendous amount of luck with gaining a small amount of notoriety over the years through the advent of the internet. You might have heard of me, but chances are higher that you probably haven't.

So a few years ago, I accidentally put a curse on one of my albums. I put a lot of work into it and thought it ended up sounding great (which is a rarity for me because I am usually pretty critical of my own work) but while I was making it, got the bright idea to tell people that it was cursed.
At the time I was thinking of it as a joke. I had always found it amusing to receive those stupid chain letter esque emails about "the ghost girl that will kill you and eat your soul if you read this and don't send it to 50 people in your contacts list" so when I released it, I littered the descriptions and info with bits of text along those lines, telling people that the album was cursed and would curse you forever if you listened to it all the way through without skipping any tracks. The theme for it was pretty macabre and it just made sense at the time I guess. It was just dumb stupid fun.

Pretty soon, I started getting messages from my fans about all the "weird things" that had happened to them after listening to the album. Some of it was kind of interesting but a lot of it was pretty mundane. I started thinking it was really cute that my fans were playing along with my bullshit, but didn't really give it much thought beyond that.
Abruptly, my agent booked a performance for me and I decided to use the album as the main fill for the set list. Spent a few hours looking through my catalogues to find some other songs I thought would fit with it and then sat and listened to it all the way through just to get a feel for how the set would go. No big deal, whatever.
The following day while driving, I was almost involved in a head on collision. The guy made a wrong turn down a one way street and floored it heading straight for my car. If i hadn't peeled into the next lane at the time that I did, the guy would have probably killed me because he just kept driving the wrong way down the street going almost 50 miles an hour. I definitely thought it was a really strange occurrence but it never crossed my mind that it might have been related to having listened to the album the night before until later that evening when I started working on the set again. I was sitting there staring at my playlist with the album loaded up for a good 10 minutes before I finally just laughed about how stupid I was acting and listened to it again.

The next morning, I couldn't find my cat anywhere in my apartment and soon discovered from one of my neighbors that he was dead in the back alleyway. His head had been completely crushed by what I'm guessing was a passing car and all that was left was a decapitated cat corpse next to a red stain on the pavement.
Admittedly, I was starting to get a little rattled. I'd had that cat for like 11 years and he had never expressed any interest at all in going outside. I couldn't even figure out how he had accomplished it because I don't sleep with my windows open or door unlocked. My thoughts danced back to the album.
"Okay," I thought. "This is getting stupid and youre acting narcissistic. It's just a bunch of dumb songs you made on your computer, there's no fucking way these instances are related."
I decided I had to put it to rest once and for all and listened to the album one final time just to prove to myself that nothing was going on.

And of course, the next day I got a call from my mom telling me that my Grandfather had very suddenly contracted a terminal illness that we had to fly out to see him through. The doctors had told her that the chances of him making it through the week were slim to none. Weirdest thing about it was that before that point he had been the perfect picture of health for someone his age and no one could even diagnose what was actually wrong with him. I took a plane out to his home and spent the next couple of days sitting by his bedside while he stared at the ceiling muttering the words "I'm not afraid..." to himself repeatedly for hours.
I haven't listened to the album since then. Ended up cancelling the performance citing grief. Have tried my best just to not think about any of it.

I live in Osaka, Japan and often use the subway to go to work in the morning. One day while I was waiting for the train, I noticed a homeless man standing in the corner of the subway station muttering to himself as people passed by. He was holding out a cup and seemed to be begging for spare change.

An overweight woman passed by the homeless man and I distinctly heard him say, “Pig.”

Wow, this man is insulting people and he still expects them to give him money?

Then a tall businessman went by and the man muttered, “Human.”

Human? I can’t argue with that. Obviously, he was human.

The next day, I arrived early at the subway station and had some time to kill, so I decided to stand close to the homeless man and listen to his strange mutterings. A thin, haggard-looking man passed in front of him and I heard the homeless guy mutter, “Cow.” Cow? The man was much too skinny to be a cow. To me, he resembled a turkey or a chicken. A minute or so later, an obese man went by and the homeless man said, “Potato.” Potato? I was under the impression that he called all fat people “Pig”.

That day at work, I couldn’t stop thinking about the homeless man and his puzzling behavior. I kept trying to find some logic or pattern in what he as muttering. Perhaps he has some kind of psychic ability. In Japan many people believe in reincarnation, so maybe he knows what these people were during a previous life. I observed the man many times and began to think my theory was right. I often heard him calling people things like “Rabbit”, “Onion”, “Sheep”, or “Tomato”.

One day, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to ask him what was going on. As I walked up to him, he looked at me and said, “Bread.” I tossed some money into his cup and asked him if he had some kind of psychic ability. The man smiled and said, “Yes, indeed. It is an ability I obtained many years ago, but it’s not what you might expect. I can’t tell the future or read minds or anything like that.”

“Then what is your ability?” I asked eagerly.

“The ability is merely to know the last thing somebody ate,” he said.

I laughed because I realized he was right. He said, “Bread.” The last thing I had eaten for breakfast that day was toast. I walked away shaking my head. Of all the psychic abilities someone could have, that one must be the most useless.

So /x/, I'm a college student studying to become a teach. Majors are education and child psychology. Yeah I know STEM master race and all that, my majors are shit. Whatever, teaching is my passion and I want to help future generations. It's my contribution.

Right now I'm earning a few credits via an internship type deal. Basically I work as a teacher's aid for a school for a semester, and earn credits for it.

For most of the day ( all periods aside from 4th) I am an aid for the school's special needs class. The class exists, as you could probably guess, for those who are considered too mentally handicapped to participate with normal students for some reason or another. A majority of the class is Down's Syndrome or other types of retardation, as you could guess. Though there are four students who are actually genius level in IQ. Two of them are Autism Spectrum, one is a diagnosed sociopath (antisocial personality disorder for those who are politically correct. ), and the other is a paranoid schizophrenic who is mostly functional on medication. These four are kept in this class because they are considered to either not be able to handle the social interactions of normal classes ( the autists ) or are possibly dangerous if provoked or have a breakdown ( the sociopath or schizo. ) .

I have to admit though, they don't really get much challenge since the class is geared towards the Down's kids more than them. As such, since I started I've basically become the four's personal teacher, only needed to help with the Down's kids occasionally.

Last week I gave them an assignment. Basically it was to write something. It could be a report, a short story, anything they wanted. One of the autistic kids did a report on steam engines, the other one future technology. The sociopath wrote a Noir short story. The Schizo however wrote a report on the nature of "terror" or "true fear" .

OP here. I'm a girl btw, in London
>>
Now a bit of background on the Schizo is that aside from simply being schizo, he has night terrors. Most of his hallucinations are often nightmarish as well from what I understand. His personality as a result is very dissociated, depressed, and low key. A sad, whimpering psychotic. Almost like a negative Alice in Wonderland.

Now what struck me about his paper was how entirely different his perspective on fear is compared to mine, or most other people's that I know. To quote the paper:

> True terror is in something that is irrevocably broken. In horror movies, it is never the ghost or monster itself that is scary, but instead the brokenness it causes, or that created it. It isn't that the dead is haunting the house, but the warping of the physical house itself, the warping of the sounds and atmosphere itself, and the warping of the universe that causes the dead to influence it. True terror always comes at the realization that something has terribly broken the universe itself. The nature of the eldritch is that which the universe shouldn't allow. It is in its entirety an abomination to existence itself. It is the concepts of the infinite, the primordial, the primal, and the fundamental that truly terrify. This is why death is terrifying: it is infinite. The idea of an infinite, endless void, is psychologically painful to imagine. This same pain can be visited at the creation of the universe. A singularity, in which all time and space exists, surrounded by a vast void of true nothing, something we cannot imagine. It is intrinsically terrifying, and dwelling on it inspires true horror that we perceive as annoyance.
>>
>To illustrate: Imagine you have a small box. The box measures 6 inches tall from the outside. No matter what you use, no matter how accurate or precise the instrument, you will always get 6 inches. It is absolute, comforting, solid. The inside however, measures 7 inches deep. It doesn't need to be this big of a difference. 6.1 inches would be enough. What would you do with this box? Most people think nothing of the idea. Perhaps an amusing oddity. They might take it to a scientist they think to themselves. Truthfully they don't realize the terror of the concept, because they have never really encountered something truly broken and evil. They don't realize that the idea of such a box is an abomination, and terrifying beyond conception. They don't realize how harmful the idea of such a box is, until they finally find something so broken as to show them.

The paper has a bunch of drawings and illustrations as well. The one attached in the OP is what he calls a " Box bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. " . However I cannot find anything about it anywhere. It looks like a magic circle of sorts, but nothing on google for "Satanic/Wiccan/Pagan circle" shows anything like it.

Figured /x/ might have some insight on what it is, or why it would be terrifying. Or perhaps /x/ could discuss the nature of terror or fear, and maybe help me understand where the kid is coming from.

Alright /x/, my goal is to acquire and read as many religious texts as possible and read them just so I can see another perspective. I'll start with the obvious ones like the Bible, the Koran, the Torah. After that, I want to get into the ones which are less popular (for some religions I don't know the names of the texts) like the Vedas, the Book of Mormon, Buddhism, Tao te Ching, Confucianism, Raelianism, Book of Shadows, Thelemic texts, etc.

All this will cost quite a bit of money, so I'm looking for an estimate of the damage. I figure I can probably get a Bible, a Koran, and a Book of Mormon (my father always used to talk about the hot Mormon girl who gave him one) for free, but the rest are pretty obscure, so I'd probably have to buy them. I'm also looking for physical copies; I really don't like reading over the web.

Other than that, any other texts I should get into? Thinking about the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Any general tips?

Torah is just the Old Testament, maybe try the Talmud and Mahzor

hi /x/. i am a US postdoc student in radiation physics. for the last few months i have just started as an intern at a research facility owned by ONI. i was required to go through background checks and given civilian level security clearance.

an ex-military director of our project, now associated with a private (read: shadow feds) intelligence and research contractor, has confided in me the fed's modern understanding of extraterrestrials. this starts with some assumptions:

1. Faster than light travel is not possible or impractical. The conservation of energy is a permanent factor in the evolution of technologies.

2. The answer to the Fermi paradox is of course that intelligent civilizations are too spatially and temporally distant to observe each other by means of EM. Direct observation of the light from distant stars, the extrapolation of their chemical composition and the use of Doppler spectroscopy only implies the plausibility of Earth-like biochemistry.

3. Hypothetically if information which implies intelligence is encoded in EM sources from distant celestial bodies, we are viewing it too early. In other highly redshifted galaxies we are viewing them much earlier phases, which is why they are of such value to us in studying interstellar clouds and the formation of stars. It follows that the area of space with the greatest chance of having activity indicative of intelligence is effectively unobservable by EM.

Are these FBI 'assumptions'? Because the first one is wrong; what's shocking about the whole alien thing is just how quick they can get around places. You think all these ships and fantastic propulsion systems get them around, but its really a matter of 3d positioning. A ship can be 'moved' in a moment across vast galactic distances. The irony of the hands-off observation approach is the hidden ones could land in front of you in the span of five seconds, invite you into their ship (space permitting, hahaha), and take you to, say, the surface of Mars in another few heartbeats.

/x/, I need an advise I guess

I never posted here, and I barely even visited this board. I'm not that much into creepy stuff. But something creepy happened to me in the past and this shit is back, so... I guess I'll tell you the story.

It started back when I lived in my hometown, Odessa in Ukraine. Ever since I was small, my granddad brought me to 411th Battery. It was a coastal gun battery during WW2 and it was turned into a WW2 memorial some time after. You can check it out, it's on wikipedia I believe. Frankly, that place was amazing. It had a LOT of tanks, guns, planes and whatnot placed all around a huge area, sort of a park. There was no supervision, area wasn't enclosed, and you could come there for free at any time, climb any vehicle and even get inside some. Most of tanks were welded shut, but there was an armored train on a piece of tracks which you could get in.

I was into military stuff, so the place was just purely awesome for me to be at. When I was in early teens, I only visited it with my granddad, because it was some few kilometers from our home and I didn't know the road as it went through a suburban area and near the coast. When I was in my late teens, I kept coming there from time to time with my school friends.

So, anyhow, there were two large vehicles there, standed on concrete supports. One was an old anti-mine boat. When I was very young I got inside of it with a lot of other kids, but it was all rusty and broken there, and there were a lot of insulation pieces around. You probably don't know, but insulation back in USSR was made out of foamy stuff with very small pieces of glass in it for whatever reason, like sandgrain size. I got one stuck in my foot, got terrified that it will go to my heat through the blood stream. Anyway, after that that boat was off limits for me, because I was scared it'd happen again.

And then there was this submarine...

Back when I was young, it appeared HUGE to me. But it was a small sub, which class, "Malutka", is roughly translated as "Baby" or "Little".

There was no way to get inside it from below and it was so large when I was around 10-12, that I couldn't even get on the concrete supports, let alone topside. However, I heard that older teenagers got in from above.

So as you might imagine, me and two of my best friends figured out we should get there some day. And we recalled that when we were about 17. So we decided to go there on one summer evening. As I mentioned there was no supervision or security of any sort, but we didn't want to attract attention of other people. So the day was already getting a bit dim and there were next to no people at the whole place.

It wasn't easy to climb the sub, but we managed to get on concrete support, then on a fin, then made our way up from there. After that, we got onto that tall bridge thing. The main hatch was of course welded shut. But those windoes you can see on top are large enough to get in. Well, me and my friend Maks did got in. But the other friend, Vlad got a bit scared at this point. You know, maybe a bit claustrophobic. I felt it too, those windows weren't exactly comfortable and we had no idea what was inside the sub. Still, we pulled out flashlights and got inside. Vlad stayed on top.

The sub turned out pretty much as we expected. Inside it was rusted a LOT, a lot of wall and floor parts were missing, so we moved using support beams. First we checked the nose, where the torpedoes were. It was same stuff everywhere. A lot of rusty metal, that's all. Of course it was absolutely cool for us to be there in the first place. Then we moved around the center and finally into the back, to the engine compartment. There, Maks got ahead, while I stayed a bit behind to look at some junk that wasn't as rusted, trying to figure out whatever it was.

And some point I grew bored of it and went further in to see what Maks had found. And then I saw him.

The engine compartment wasn't as rusted and destroyed for whatever reason, I could move quite easily there, and so did Maks, who stood about in the middle of it. He didn't move however and was staring at something I didn't see, frozen, his flashlight pointed there with his arms down beside the body. That was weird, and I moved a bit closer to get a better look. Finally I moved at an angle which allowed me to see what Maks was looking at.
