Let's share some nope stories.
Doesn't have to be paranormal, just stories that made you fear for your life or when you knew you were in immediate danger. I'll start with a story my friend told me when she was visiting Colombia.

I've been up at my mom's house for the month. house sitting and every night I hear this splashing down by her pond. I've kept dismissing it as fish but then the howling starts and the splashing gets louder. The howling is a weird kind of howl, like a human would if they broke a bone, and this has gone on consecutively for the past week pond is only like a 100 yards from the house and I'm starting to get nervous.
My question is, whats the best defense against any kind of night visitor? I was thinking rocksalt in a shotgun shell but loading that shit is hard and I'd rather have a more effective option in mind before I do that.

I want to ask your advice on something, especially those of you who know symbols.

Between 2008/2010 I was dating this girl. We had a great relationship. That cliché "best friends in love" shit. However, there were some... Things about her. She had a lot of shit happen to her when she was little, mostly involving rape. This, obviously. Really fucked her up a lot mentally. She was very socially reserved apart from our close group of friends.
But she was happy.

It finally reached a head when she told our friends that I tried to rape her. Which lead to them calling the cops on me - I was let off, there was obviously no proof.
I broke up with her after that. But kept close to her. Because I knew she was pretty bonkers at this point - but I still cared about her. A lot.
After about six months. She came to me saying she still loved me, apologized and gave me some story that for some reason I believed.

Skipping all the filler - she ended up cheating on me with about 8 different guys while lying to me about who she was with.
I called her out on this, even our friends backed me.
I told her (And I am honest about this) I wasn't mad. I was worried about her. Because this wasn't right. She broke down into tears and asked to speak to me alone. So our friends left.
We spoke for hours in a park near her house. I left her by saying I wasn't going to be there to save her ass anymore, and that loving her is too painful. I tried to convince her to get some help. And she agreed. We said I'd take her the next day to see a doctor.

The most common one was this circle with a line going down into a triangle.
Anyway, here's where it gets weirder.
Starting in about 2012 I started getting these packages at my house. All of which were sent from her house - which has now been demolished. And whenever I try to send them back they come back to my house in a week.
Usually it's just stupid shit like dirt, hair, freaky junk.
But recently they've been getting weirder.
I got this music box in a package from her house. It plays "Yesterday" by The Beatles when turned. But while I was looking at it, I noticed on the cylinder there was a piece of paper sticking out of it. So I took the thing apart.

The paper feels like leather and smells like fucking sewage.

I have been very interested in the extreme isolation and poverty of rural appalatia. The poorest counties in appelatia are among the poorest in the United States, with some homes lacking electricity or plumbing. This is an area where all of the mining and logging jobs have dried up, and there has been an exodus of the inhabitants of these mountains, people of mostly scot-Irish descent, that had been living there for centuries. The ones that are left behind are said to be so desperately poor that they cannot leave, drug addicted or dependent on welfare, or too elderly to move. I feel that there is a huge potential for scary shit to happen there, and was wondering if there were any creepy pastas or stories on rural appelatia that existed. Or perhaps some old appalatian folk stories that people knew or first hand accounts of the conditions there or scary situations they have been in the mountains.

ITT Interstellar conspiracy:
Last week, I went to see Interstellar into a movie theater with couple of my friends. Long story short - I was temendously dissapointed by this latest work of Nolan a director whom I held in great respect. The plot was terrible (with a great deal of cheap conveniences and outright plotholes), the characters were bland (I think this was one of the most overly melodramatic/artificial roles of McConaughey in a long time) and I'd say that the visual were literally the only thing in the movie that deserved any kind of recognition whatsoever.
I was stunned to see so many people not only satisfied, but enchanted with the movie. I mean, to me, it seemed downright awful, and so painfully obviously so that I didn't even begin to think that anything more but a small minority of the movie-goers could like it. I got into several discussion regarding the film since I've seen it, and people seem to use very strange arguments while defending it.
I know I'm going to sound like a nut here, but hey, this is /x/ right? I've entertained the thought that there might be some sort of subliminal messaging in the movie, that would make people like it and consider it a good movie for quite irrational reasons. I know it is a bit preposterous, and that a much easier explanation is available - people have different tastes than me and/or are stupid conformists who go with the hype. But still, I think it's a fun thing to think about - I mean, Interstellar isn't the single shitty space movie that has gotten.great general reception (Gravity, I'm looking at you).
What's your two cents on this? Could Interstellar be just a piece of cinematographic pseudo-propaganda of some sort? What ends would it serve? What might be some of the potential subliminal messaging in the movie?

As we all know, space actually doesn't have any sound (you can't hear anything in space), however sound in space comes in the form of electromagnetic vibrations which are picked up by the instruments on a space satellite (or probe).
Most videos claiming to be sounds from a planet bear no recognizable similarity to the natural signals. On the other hand, they are far more marketable.
