Question for all you so called experts, and other enthusiasts.
To keep things short- I have been "followed" by a thing I call "the boogeyman". I call it that, because it first appeared when I was 4, and that was the best fit at the time.
It has followed me continuously, and grown with me my whole life, always twice my size.
To keep this question short, I have not ever had ghost experiences or luck with anything like ouija boards, even when friends in the same place did.
The possibility later arose, of whether or not the thing following me is indeed outside my head.
So my question- Do you think a demon or ghost or whatever could attach itself to you, and be so powerful that other weaker ghosts and such would not come near you in fear of it?
I can go in to much greater detail about my boogeyman if requested.
Post everything
It might be a shadow person or something

Late to the party. I've been busy.
To keep it short.
I was 4 when I first saw it. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking my brother was messing with my because an arm was reaching at me from under the bed on the side next to the wall.
After telling him to knock it off, I eventually felt breath on my neck, so I turned over to yell at my brother, but instead I saw the boogeyman.
The boogeyman to me looked like he does in this photo. Limbs and figners like twisted branches. Body made of some sort of shadowy fire that constantly moved over his body (think the inside of a homunculus in full metal alchemist when all the souls are flowing) and he has an aura around him like you see around fire.
I tried to yell but couldn't make a sound, and couldn't move. He quickly grabbed me and tried pulling me under the bed. I was far enough under that normally my feet would be touching the wall, but they weren't. By then, I finally let out a yell.
When my parents came in, I was bent under the bed with my feet and legs running sideways on the wall in a position that let me fit into that spot.
They told me it had to be a dream and to go back to bed.
I didn't notice things were tied together until I turned 18.
I must be off once again but will update with the full story in a few hours.
In the UK we have a reality TV show called Big Brother. People apply for it and then the contestants live in a building fitted out with cameras.
One of the most famous contestants was Jade Goody, who was known for being pretty stupid.
The show finished and she became somewhat famous. She was invited back for a celebrity Big Brother. One of the contestants was Indian actress, Shilpa Shetty, and was followed closely by the Indian population.
True to her somewhat bimbo personality, Jade started to refer to Shilpa as 'Shilpa Poppadom'. The Indian audience were completely incensed and eventually she was kicked out due these racist remarks.
What does this have to do with /x/? It wasn't long after she was kicked out that she developed cancer and died. This happened quite quickly after the incident.
The Indians are known for their spirituality and connection with magic. Do you think a furious Indian mystic might have caused this to happen?
>>17859381
Maybe she already had cancer. Maybe the cancer made her a racist.
Here is a video showing some of it

Anyone think there might be an /x/-element here?
>Be me 4 years ago
>Be 20
>Somewhat into working out, but the closest gym is an hour away
>Live in the countryside where neighbors are scarce
>Typically workout in my house with the curtains closed so that no one would see me, I guess I had paranoia
>My routine was rather simplistic as I didn't have all too much to work with, but enough stay fit
>Recently I decided that I should start to workout in the garage
>This change came from the noticeable ass smell in the carpet where I exercised
>The garage had two levels and was fairly large as the previous owner had a farm to tend to
>Even though it had so much space it was completely packed
>I managed to make myself a small area for lifting
>Nothing perfect just a weight bench and some dumbbells
>The only downside was that the garage had several windows on the first level, quite a few spiders, the occasional field mouse, and that you had to lock it from the outside when you left
>To compensate I worked out at night with the lights off, always had fresh mouse traps out, and just ignored the spiders
>I never really had a problem with the setup for the first few weeks
>It was probably about a month after the change
>I was getting ready for my typical session by taking some pre workout and waiting about 15 minutes to feel it kick in
>After about 20 minutes of nothing I decided to head out
>I was struggling to get through reps and decided to quit after 3 sets
>Upset, I grabbed my water and headed for the door
>While locking up, I dropped my keys in a fit of rage
>After picking up my keys I managed to startle myself by seeing my face in the door window
>I just laughed thinking about how mindless I was being
>My laugh was ceased when I noticed that on the other side of my reflection was another

Was the man even real? If so how did he get out of a 15 story high guarded hotel room? Was he just a master criminal who just gave the post-war Japanese the slip, or was he someone not from this reality?

Urban legends, but a cool one.

It is mentioned in some official myth books from when it was first reported to have happened. How can you be sure it's a myth?
if the secret of alchemy is the fountain of youth then how come none of the big wigs who studied alchemy like isaac newton and carl jung lived forever?
furthermore how is one supposed to get the magical substance that can cure all disease and make ones spirit pure? i know it's a metaphor for a spiritual transformation but still
http://www.alchemylab.com/concerning_the_supreme_secret_of.htm
>. It is sought by many and found by few. It is beheld from afar and found near; for it exists in every thing, in every place, and at all times. It has the powers of all creatures; its action is found in all elements, and the qualities of all things are therein, even in the highest perfection. By virtue of this essence did Adam and the Patriarchs preserve their health and live to an extreme age, some of them also flourishing in great riches.
>This spirit is the secret, hidden from the beginning yet granted by God to a few holy men for the revealing of these riches to His Glory -- dwelling in fiery form in the air, and leading earth with itself to Heaven, while from its body there flow whole rivers of living water. This spirit flies through the midst of the Heavens like a morning mist, leads its burning fire into the water, and has its shining realm in the Heavens.
And although these writings may be regarded as false by the reader, yet to the initiated they are true and possible, when the hidden sense is properly understood. For God is wonderful in His works, and His wisdom is without end.
then Newton goes on to explain the "five states" of the matter. literally explain this bullshit. is this just another meme for a kundalini awakening? or is it different?
>>17859027
>i know it's a metaphor for a spiritual transformation but still
It was never a metaphor of spiritual transformation. It might have been an unconscious projeciton, but that is very different from thinking that people were consciously doing some sort of western Yoga, and not just looking for a physical Philosopher's Stone. Here is a library.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/uldbxpm2nyw7a
how do *you* know they didn't live forever? :D

And Newton was a practical alchemist, experimenting with antimony lead and mercury, the details of which are found in his diaries and in his hair.
Hey guys, long story short I'm making a videogame which features sanity effects and horror and stuff.
I don't have the money to get people to voice over the dialog. So I've got two options - stick with text boxes, or implement text to speech. The reason I'm even thinking of adding TTS is because I think it could be really uncanny, and that's one of the feels I'm going for. On the other hand, it could just sound really hilarious and kill the tension.
Is there something inbetween? I remember a text to speech engine having a whisper mode, which could be kind of creepy. Or maybe I could chop the speech up and create some kind of dialect, like they do with Animal Crossing but not so dumb sounding.
What if I made the text to speech a sanity effect? The more insane your character gets, the more likely the words on screen begin to talk to you? I want some of the sanity effects to break the fourth wall.
Maybe this is a stupid idea all together. I figured you guys might be able to point me in the right direction, design-wise. I know how to do it technically, I'm just not sure if it's worth bothering to implement if the effect is just going to be wrong.
Primarily text based.
As your sanity gets worse, you hear whispers. (If you want anon, I know some voice actors)
At the far end of the sanity scale, it's full blown screaming
(Pro tip: if your doing sanity stuff, don't only focus on screams or unheard whispers. Add animal noises, like scratching.)
You could find people who want to do voice acting and would be willing to do this for free for exposure.

I took the microsoft anna voice and pitched it down with audacity. If you like the way this sounds, you could just do this. Experiment with different voices and see what you can come up with.

is an idea you should consider.
is there a way to get revenge through spiritual ways and destroy someone? ever worked for anyone here?
>>17858921
This is the only correct answer.
If you do that you will suffer 10x more my friend, try to read about it that revange is not the way you can lose your soul in the process. try to forgive i know that its hard but this is the way and karma always finds the way.
>>17858912
Revenge is for the weak and also a loss of time that is self-destructive.
The nearest thing to revenge that is actually worth something is teaching someone something through punition.
Example: A man is an asshole to everybody. People then proceed to avoid him. His punition is loneliness and remorse. Thus he learns the value of having friends/family and not being an asshole.
You know what to do

I want to sacrifice my left (nondominant) arm from the shoulder down. What do you think I could bargain for in return, and how do I go about it? No cutting it off. Possession, magic binding, freak accident, etc. are allowed.
meth.
>>17858025
I get prescription stimulants, I don't need or want meth. I guess more my question is, who or what would be looking for a sacrificed arm?
>>17857998
I'd sacrifice it for 2 more apendages of choice

So what's the robots' motivation? They don't get anything from it. And if it's just pure sadism then why would they put them in soundproof metal orbs and then toss them down a pit? Wouldn't they want to enjoy the humans' suffering, if that's what it was?
>>17858693
They're robots. they just do whatever is programmed into them.

That's so fucked
