What are your guys' opinions on the matter? I personally believe in them and I don't think all of them are /jumpscare/ spoopy.
I find them to be quite unique and interesting and want to learn more about them, but I also want all of your opinions.

Most of the opinions you'll find on /x/ are uninformed (or misinformed by popular culture), so trust me when I say you don't really want ALL of our opinions.
I'm personally inclined to believe in ghosts. There's no hard evidence, of course, but there's a lot of soft evidence. The amount of eyewitness testimony from credible people is just too great to dismiss. The standard explanations (infrasound, self-delusion, extreme grief) just require too much reaching to cover it all.
Essentially, to believe ghosts don't exist you have to believe that a lot of otherwise honest and stable people are straight out lying about having seen them. I find that less believable than there being aspects to the universe that science doesn't yet have the tools to measure.
Around 10 years ago my cousin and I were laying down watching tv, it was pretty late and I was about to go home and call it a night.
Suddenly a loud high pitched noise, electric-static like, made us both look up. After I saw it, I looked back at my cousin to see if that acid I took 4 years prior was finally kicking in, he was sitting up, petrified.

I raised my hand, then realized that both of us were illuminated only by the tv light, the room was still dark. After around 20 secs of being completly still, the noise and light became silent and dark, and it was gone.
We ran out of the room, looked at each other, wasn't enough, ran outside the house. Compared notes, armed ourself, cause fuck it. Went inside, checked the room, the ceiling, the room next door, the roof, etc. The lights didn't went off, there were no cables in that corner. Well, I couldn't explain it.
What I saw was lame, a 3D ball of stringy orange light. Very much like that old windows media player visualization.
That was a long time ago, each time I ask my cousin he remembers it differently, and greatly.
This is just a story, my story. I remember this, it's real to me, thus I believe in it. I just wanted to tell my story, I'm about to become quite poor, and I don't think I'll use a pc again. Plus, no one believes a hobo.
I'll be sticking around and answering any questions.

hey guys op here, wanted to update since some people really seemed interested in helping.
ok, so forgive me i don't have the numbers for the responses. but the guy who said i must be a 1%er because i had i library, thank you i needed i good laugh, i wish. i actually live in a duplex 3room 1bath galley apartment. i just happen to be an avid book enthusiast. where ever i live i devote a room to my books.
the person asking about whether it is the same one when i just see one, i don't know. i don't ever really get a good look. they are just fleeting shadows. i have no reason to think it is though.
i haven't been able to get any videos, i need a camera i can set up and just let it record, no more pics really, nothing that looks as clear as the one i posted already.
the last couple of days i have been trying to break up my routine, listen to music i like, movies and stuff. i haven't noticed any change in seeing them, but when i do i let them know i have seen them and basically tell them to go away leave me alone. there seems to be less noise, but in fairness i don't know if they really are making less noise or if i'm hearing it less because i'm listening to music and tv and stuff.
um, bet of weirdness when i got home today, i have a ceramic dog statue, (its like a lawn ornament, but i don't have a yard) it was sitting right in front of my front door. i had to push it with the door to get in. but again in fairness, i wont say its impossible that some how some way my dog didn't push it. though she has never bothered it before.
still haven't gone back to sleeping in my bedroom, though i might try tonight since i'm hearing less noise.
