I haven't lurked here in years.. Didn't seem like much has changed. Anyways why not talk about some weird shit that's happened to you that you can not explain.
One of my early childhood memories that always weirds me out is I remember going to Laughlin NV to go eat at some buffet.. I think it was Flamingo Casino but I could be wrong.
Anyways when we arrived we parked in one of those huge parking garages. I remember running ahead to the stairs of the garage and heading down them pretty quick. All a sudden I lost my footing and started to fall forward. In that moment everything seemed to freeze. I could see myself falling and breaking my neck and dieing. My life flashed before my eyes and I almost felt at peace..
But then out of nowhere someone grabbed me from under my arms. I felt them holding me in.the air and then setting me down. Then a woman whispered in my ear saying “watch your step”. I turned around to see who she was but there was no one there. Just a flight of steps. I then walked up a bit to see where my family was. They had not even reached the stairs yet. I sat there frozen waiting for them and when they reached me they said it looked like I had seen a ghost. They didn't think to much of it and we continued on our way to the buffet.
To this day.. Probably 20 years later it still boggles my mind. Wtf happened..

Am I the only one who feels less and less spiritual as I grow older? It seems like 5 or 6 years ago I felt very attached to the Holy Spirit and God. However, it feels different now. I still believe in God and I would call myself a Christian but I feel disconnected. Anyone else feel the same way?

What's the meaning of this talisman? Would it be useful for protection? I'm thinking of getting it on a wall for that purpose. I want my space insulated against supernatural threat, so any advice on that would also be good.
If it matters, I tend to be of the (chaos magic?) position that any magical working is charged by belief, so if you're convinced it will work, it probably will. That in mind, I tend to favour Abrahamic, Neo-Pagan, Chinese and Japanese stuff, as well as sigils and so on.

Hell, if you could immerse yourself in a picture of your mom the same way and associate it with protection, you could use that.
So if you think some squiggly lines and some names will do that, go for it.
It's a sigil of Geburah or the sphere of Mars. It is for victory against enemies in violent conflict. Yes it will help protect you, but might make you a hotheaded confrontational prick.
I would personally recommend using a talisman from the sphere of Binah or Saturn if you want protection from spiritual enemies i.e. evil spirits, ghosts. Also use a Solar/Tiphareth talisman to offset the melancholy that Saturn could cause.
The Key of Solomon ought to be your guide if you want to use this technique.

This is just the kind of info I was hoping for, so thanks. Pretty cool; I'm pretty hot-blooded myself so we would likely get along. In any case, regarding sigils I will definitely look up Binah for the walls. I do think I have the Key of Solomon kicking about somewhere, but haven't looked at it yet.

How 'open' is the average /x/phile?
I like hearing about weird shit and stuff, but at the same time I think I'm a reasonable person, and that there is a logical explanation for a lot of stuff that is termed as 'paranormal'.
I guess I'm more of a debunker, but I also love things that defy explanation. Perhaps I've kinda contradicted myself right there. Answers are cool, but lack of answers is cooler.
I'm keen to know the typical /x/ poster: do you believe in fairies/crystal powers/astrology? Or do you take a more scientific approach to the unexplained and try to seek solutions through empirical/logical means?
Or am I the one who is closed minded?

I'm just like you. I love stuff I can't explain, but I'm also among the first to debunk. That said, I'm pretty convinced the house I work in is haunted. Way too many things have happened over the years that have no logical explanation (like my phone shooting sideways off a non-skid tablecloth with no one near it, stopping in midair, and falling to the floor).

R.A.W. was essentially a western occultist or magician. Even reading his wacky fiction like The Illuminatus! Trilogy reveals his deep respect for mysticism and spirituality. Cosmic Trigger is my favorite tho. Extremely inspiring. Gets you right inside his mindset. Prometheus Rising builds off of Timothy Leary's models and I highly recommend reading some of his work too (Game of Life in particular). IIRC, him and Timothy Leary were both in the IOT (Illuminates of Thanateros -- chaos magicians). Chaos magick generally espouses a post-modernist attitude toward belief in contrast to high magick. The first step, in chaos magick is to make one's self agnostic. The second step is to experiment with everything. The third step is to start building your own system of beliefs and theories and correspondences and parallels. The final step is to balance this structure you have created with staying fluid and agnostic and adaptible and on the cutting edge of occultism. Occultism is living spirituality, unlike the dead corpse of religion and dogma. Discordianism operates on similar principles but is not quite so clear in its directives which causes many discordians to be as dogmatic about their agnosticism as the people they make fun of.

I've never found bigfoot intriguing but out of boredom I watched a show on discovery about it. Some of the credible persons claiming to have seen it all describe it as very tall and humanoid. Doesn't that as well match the description of skinwalkers? Considering that the assumed habitat of bigfoot and skinwalker is in da woods, could it be that most eyewitnesses have actually seen skinwalkers?
