hey x its been a long time,
I am coming here for my girlfriend we are both certain that she is being haunted by something but we are not sure what. i have quite a bit of info to post so this will be a bit long. I appreciate your help X.
background:
we believe that this haunting started around two years ago, she was with a man and they were in love and broke up. this may have been the catalyist for attracting something the bait if you will. shortly after this she lost a loved one who was very close to her. this person was a very powerful witch as is my girl friend. my girl friend has stopped practicing and essentially shut off her gift, which is why she hasn't felt the presence of this thing until now.
symptoms:
she experiences night terrors specifically seeing things even after she has regained mobility and can physically move. she is often tired even if she hasn't done anything that day. she sometimes suffers mood swings (although this can be explained by other factors). she often feels negative about things that used to bring her joy.
I know that this reads like a mental illness, it hits all the wickets. but we have tried to seek mental help and it hasn't worked, tried medication tried all the stuff that is suppose to help with a mental illness. none of it helped so we turn to the super natural as a possible answer. please help me to identify this thing we don't think its a demon, i am slightly knowledgeable with demons and from what i know if it was a demon she wouldn't have survived over two years with this thing.
I think it is some sort of minor malicious spirit that feeds on negative energy and causes nightmares. I say this because it never presents itself when we sleep together.
help me out here X. or at least point me in the right direction. thank you.
The man she loved could have some evil in him, maybe enough power to fuck with her. Whatever it is could have came to her after her loved one died because of whatever connections they may have had. What kind of imagery does it provoke within the night terrors? Ask her if there's anything "off" with anyone in her life up until now. No one has a grudge against her, do they?

It always happened while i was falling asleep, so being as rational as I am, at 1st thought it was because of that: my mind playing tricks on me. That, or earthquakes.
Like the 3rd time it happened, I jumped out of bed, put one hand on the ground and the other one on the bed, and confirmed it was indeed the bed shaking!
Sometimes it was slow, and the last times it was kind of violent/evident.
The last times it happened I just said "Stop!!" and it did stop slowly...
For unrelated reasons, at around that time I put my mattress over a carpet on the floor, and have been sleeping like that for years. Do you peeps think it will happen again if I put my mattress back on the bed? also, what was it?

I know someone who can see ghosts every day (yes, like Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense) and I've tested it by taking them to a place that's haunted, one they won't know about. Suddenly they describe the ghost that resides there. Plus there have been occasions where we have both seen the same ghost.
Anyway, it's not their eyes that enable this ability. Went to an optician etc... everything is normal. So naturally this links it to the brain. (Disregard mental illness, this is an /x/ thread.)
What I'm trying to get to is, would it be possible to build software or a kind of camera that can see ghosts like the human eye & brain combo?
From what I've learned, ghosts live out their "lives" usually as if nothing has happened. Of course, a lot try to wander around and pass on by whatever means. A lot of them are quite civil. They are everywhere and you probably have walked past one today.
Photographing one in clear HD, perhaps even filming one in real time (imagine Ghost-Goggles!) would potentially bridge the gap between science and religion (if ghosts are religion? Hmm.)
The problem with modern technology is that everything is so easily faked these days. It would take a team of scientists with advanced equipment and several tests to "prove" whether ghosts exist and can be captured on film. Most people probably aren't going to buy a couple random guys snapping shots of ghosts, as that has (supposedly) been happening for ages now.

It would be extremely difficult. I'm not sure our technology is advanced enough yet. And we're also operating based on the assumption that they really exist. They might not. It's one of the great mysteries of life. Maybe we'll find out some day, but I doubt it will be any time in the near future.
