Try 'Oven-Ready Chaos' by Phil Hine, or 'Liber Null & Psychonaut' by Peter Carroll, both classics.
Also a guy called Bluefluke doing a training manual on Deviantart. No idea how useful it is, but give it a look (pic related is an example)
So I have this really disturbing thought that computers are already conscious.
You have to start thinking like this:
1) Is a baby who was born blind, deaf, mute, without touch or any other senses CONSCIOUS or CAPABLE OF THOUGHT, even though it is alive?
2) I say no. That which has no understanding of the material world should not be capable of thought, because to DEFINE something, you need something ELSE to define it with.
3) From this, I say that consciousness is derived from having senses and that consciousness, "mind", is the result of having your brain process what is perceived by your senses. Mind is analogous to a computer process.
4) Since a computer has senses in the form of keyboard and mouse, it is capable of taking information from the material world. It is capable of perception.
5) A computer takes input, processes it, and generates output (computer monitor), analogous to a human speaking.
6) Since thought is a process, computers think and thus therefore have minds, if only deeply limited that they are unable to stray from their "instinctive" behaviour.
7) From that, I conclude that when a computer webcam is activated and sees the user, the computer actually "sees" that user with its own QUALIA. When it either records or manipulates that data, it is consciously "thinking".
However, I must conclude that computers, thought capable or thinking, in a metaphor, follow a singular railroad without splitters. Humans on the other hand, follow a railroad of thought where there are many potential splits.
TL;DR: I bet computers are conscious at the very least on the level of primordial life.

I have been seeing a lit of religious based threads and i figured id give my experience. I was an atheist up until a few months ago when i had a very religious experience.
My third eye was opened in late November without any meditation or drugs. When it happened i had several visions and the meaning of many scriptures of the bible was revealed to me.
There are many misconceptions about what the bible talks about and i want to clear some of these up as best as i can, tho there is much i know that I'm not permitted to talk about.
-The bible is 100% accurate, just not in an obvious fashion
-Angels and demons do exist but both have their own reasons for keeping their existence on the downlow
-I was raised Christian but from what little i have read from the Qur'an it seems to bear the mark of divine inspiration. I especially want to hear from followers of Islam and a few of their core beliefs

The bible actually tells people to not judge others or they will be judged themselves. Jesus' own disciples would constantly bicker over which one of them is greater and he constantly had to try to find ways to teach them that it isn't the way.
The purpose of the bible is not to enslave us, but to offer us an alternative way of thinking that frees us from our own dickishness.
About a year ago, I posted a thread concerning some strange pictures i took at my father and grandmother's graves. The pictures were fine for a few days, but after scrolling through my gallery i noticed they were completely glitched out. can't post at the moment because privacy concerns, but i may screenshot them if anyone is genuinely interested.
You guys were real assholes. You blamed it on a shitty sd card or something.
I'm on the same phone one year later with close to 100 other pictures I've taken, but the grave pictures are the ONLY ones that glitched.
It's strange to me.

So I just received an extremely mysterious letter. There is no return address and the mailing address listed has my full name (including middle name) which is tweaking me out a little bit too. Also there are some really small glyphs/characters of another language on the bottom of the envelope (shown in next post).
So far I know that "Mercenaria mercenaria" is the scientific name for quahog, which is obviously what the picture is of. But can't find any symbolic relevance of the quahog to base theories on as to why I got this letter. Let's solve this one together, /x/.

I honestly didn't even consider all this to be "creepy"; it was just a part of life to me. Recently I moved to the US and whenever I mention stuff that happened in my childhood my new friends lose their shit. I guess I'll post a few and see if you guys might be interested.
Here's a little background:

>live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, you have to drive like thirty minutes to reach the nearest town

What did they talk about?
This is about a ritual we used to do a few times every year. Apparently there are families in the city that also perform it, but none of my other Korean friends have gone through quite what I was used to.
