What did you guys do to have your first lucid dream? What can I do to experience a lucid dream for the first time?
Step one: Find Buddhist friend
Step two: discuss lucid dreaming
Step three: sleep on back, shirtless and pantless
Step four: count to 100 and back until your mind is clear
Step five: fall asleep
What would I even do in a lucid dream that I can't do in real life?
The three times I've had lucid dreams, I wasn't trying to have a lucid dream. They started out as normal dreams and then for some reason I realized they were dreams. Like in the first one I was opening drawers in an apartment I used to live in, and I realized what ever I thought was going to be in the drawers were in the drawers when I opened them. So just to be sure, I predicted there would be something absurd in the next drawer I opened, and sure enough, it was there. After that I became completely lucid. It's the best feeling you can imagine. Like tripping really hard and not feeling tired or scared or anything.

what would be the cause of me hearing a random high pitch noise in my ears one or the other . its kind of like the sound they use in video games if a flash bang or grenade goes off close to you. also i remember hearing this same sound in the same place if i would happen to drive down this one road in the same spot. is it like a frequency i am hearing and other people cant hear ?

I was having a pretty trippy dream and in the dream I kneel down to pet a small dog, the dog barks at me and let's out a horrible scream that sounded like a banshee or a siren.
This woke me up and I was pretty panicked but calmed down after a few second, my ears were in lots of pain and were ringing with the sound even thought it was just a dream, I didn't even know that was possible.
I went back to sleep after a couple minutes and its never happened again since.
What the hell was it and how does that even happen? A dream effecting me in real life feels so strange.
I lurk here a lot and decided I might as well post this because not sure where else, please help thanks.

I also had a pain in a dream before i had my throat slit and when i died i woke up feeling the same pain. The pain of throat slitting is werid, you feel your energy dissapearing and you struggle to breathe, move etc.

The only thing that gives human any kind of motivation or drive to do anything is our hormones. You remove hormones and we all become completely listless and apathetic.
A computer AI would have no hormones. It would therefore exhibit no aggression, no anger, no real motivation or drive whatsoever. I'm not even sure it would have the will for self-preservation. Existence or non-existence would make very little difference.
