Bump
I had to write an article on a mysterious death of seven teenagers. They died more or less at the same time, in front of their computers, in various places around the United States. They would never find a coincidence between those deaths if not one of the girls somehow survived and reported whole situation to the police.
You know how the fuck did she survive?
She logged out when there was still time to do it.
Quite frankly, I'm not so sure about those ''mysterious'' cases. Usually, they turn out to be less mysterious than I previously thought when I do a research on them. Teenage idiotism comes to the light, when it's all just abot the love of committing suicides with their internet friends. Seriously, I've had similiar case recently. Frightening in stupidity. Especially when one of the victims on the other side of the cable was lying about taking the pills. But I don't want and didn't want to talk about it now, I wanted to tell you about this really intriguing case.
The girl was a bit introverted, tight-lipped I'd say if we're talking about getting any informations from her. I've only found out that some group of friends, who, from time to time, were hanging out, were writing on a specific chat. It wasn't a simple mIRC, but something of its kind. They were talking about everything and about nothing. They knew themselves for quite a long time and just liked their company. Ten or nine people, or something like that. This day some of them were offline. Two of them were offline for about a month. They met on the internet, then in real life and then they were a typical chat couple, dating in real life. Love story like from a cheap romantic comedy, but I didn't poke my nose too deep. A girl, a.k.a. ''dolly'' was answering the questions using halfwords, but later on her answers became useless. For some reason, recovering the log from that day was almost impossible. Database has been stubbornly saying that the 26th of June has never existed..
>>17463506
That there was nothing at half past eleven at night, and that hour was apparently the time when ''jamb'' appeared on the chat.
They weren't there. And then not only the internet forgot about them.
I refused to write the article after reading that log. Honestly? I'm fed up. I think I'm gonna leave this job.
While I still have fucking time to do so. While I still can.
Reading this, you're doing it on your own.
And hell no. Don't fucking blame me if someone (something?) knocks on your door.

Hello /x/
I would like to begin learning how to meditate, and to begin practicing right away.
What are some resources or specific books that will help me into it?
Please & Thankyû

These will get you started. Basically, it's all about finding the primal sentience within. Before you learned words, you had thoughts... meditation is about finding that inner silence. It's much more difficult than it sounds to achieve. But every once in a while when you're meditating, you'll find yourself there in the void. It's an amazing feeling.
Good luck, OP.
Thankyû very much !
I've dabbled in it a few times before, as well as using the app "Headspace" for a few weeks but I wanted to make sure this time I could progress in it, if you will.
Anybody here remember MTV's take on a paranormal show in the late 90s? The show would feature 6 contestants going to a haunted location for a few days to study any activity. They could quit at anytime but those who stay the whole time got paid.

Basically, they cashed in on The Blair Witch Project (1999). The show has inspired numerous ghost shows, my favorite being Ghost Adventures.
Fear was pretty legit. Voodoo by Godsmack was the credit song, that was always pretty sweet.
When did Scariest Places On Earth fire up? I always liked that one better.
Loved that show. Used to have to watch it during the day when I was a kid.
Went back and watched a few episodes a couple years ago, they hold up. Very early 2000's reality show vibe to it but it was legitimately scary as shit.
I find destructive cults interesting. How can one man convince thousands of people to follow him blindly? How come governments can't intercede against Scientology for example in spite of several complains and how come the legal apparatus is at its disposition to fuck up people's lives?
Was Jim Jones aided by someone?
How did he come to have the means to buy an insland, guns and poison and transport all of his followers without american intelligence sniffing out its intentions?
This shit is horrific. Here's an aerial picture of the pavilion area, where they all met and spoke about committing suicide before drinking the kool aid.
They took needles off syringes and squirted the poison into children's mouths. Hell, if you google the pictures, they even poisoned the dogs. There's a ~40 minute recording of the night they died, and by the end of it you can hear children crying and screaming.
They didn't buy an island, they bought a patch of jungle in Guyana and set up a communist community. Jones bribed Guyana immigration officials so that mass immigration off his cult members would be a quick process with minimal questions asked. Also, he bribed them to make it very hard for members to leave Guyana.
Yes, he did have help. His lawyers were devout followers, and he had armed guards around the town. Plus most of the people in Jonestown were true believers. You don't up and immigrate to a jungle commune in Guyana if you're a casual.
I could go on about this all night, I find it absolutely fascinating in the most morbid way. The Jonestown wiki reads like a horror novel, I recommend it.
If you're a metal fan, there's a thrash song called "Hypnotized" by Heathen that starts off with lines from various Jim Jones speeches. The guy was a lunatic, but he was a great public speaker and very charismatic, which helped him pull this off.

Here's a pic of the airstrip in Guyana where US Congressman Leo Ryan was killed. He went to Jonestown to investigate claims that people weren't allowed to leave.
He was there for a few days and some of the cult members told him they wanted to leave, so he took them back to the airstrip with him. They got on the plane, and a bunch of Jones' followers showed up with guns and opened fire. Five of them were killed, including Ryan, who was shot over 20 times.
What was Jones goal? I thought he only had the mass suicide carried out because he feared authorities were about to force him to end the cult.
Help me here /x/.

lmao tips on how to thanks anon
I was on a trip to Burlington, NC today and was informed of a legend regarding a local high school. The legend is, a girl was asked to prom by the star quarterback who subsequently stood her up. Distraught, she threw herself from the third floor of the school.
Rumor has it, if you look up at the window from which she threw herself and start insulting her, she will appear in the window. There is also a stop sign behind the school which is rumored to bleed.
I couldn't help but test it, since we were passing through that area. First of all, the school is creepy as shit as-is. Very run-down and distraught, although it's still operational. There's also a creepy-ass statue of the school's mascot (a bulldog) in the back.
We went around back to where the window in question was. I called out the girl's name and informed her I'd taken a long trip to see her, and that I'd appreciate her coming to visit. Before I could finish my sentence, this really cute girl walked up to the window with a stone-faced expression. My heart skipped a beat, but I decided to smile and wave. She then smiled very warmly and waved back. I guess it was just a student who was there for drama rehearsal (there were cars in the parking lot and the window was linked to the auditorium). Must have been privy to the rumor and accustomed to morons coming in from out of town and trying it out. Her response time was quick, though, and she definitely nailed the ghostly facial expression.
We then checked out the ghostly stop sign, which I thought would be immaculate until you started insulting it. It's just smeared with some sort of fake blood (despite being there for several months, it's still red as opposed to the brownish hue that blood turns after a while). Kinda corny, but probably some sort of school tradition, as this phenomenon allegedly persists even after the city changes the stop sign.
Have you ever tested an urban legend and yielded some results, paranormal or not?

If you eat lots of candy your teeth fall out. So far so good. It's a lie.
One time when I was sleeping in my room. I felt a strange sensation which naturally woke me up. I was laying there for about 10 minutes, when suddenly I heard what sounded like hooves galloping out of my room. My mother who was taking a piss came walked into my room and asked what was that? I just shrugged while we both sat there scared shitless. So tell me /x/ what exactly could this be?
>>17461575
speaking of horses, When I was a little kid, about 6-7, I was laying in bed and I was looking at my window sill which has a ledge. On the ledge, appeared to be a little cowboy man bucking his bronco for a good few seconds before he gallops across the ledge and through the wall, never to be seen again.
Still don't know what that means.
