I noticed a thread recently about the possibility of this universe being a simulation. On a similar note, I'd love to contribute to the discussion of AI. I'm a mathematics graduate student with some proficiency in cognitive sciences and artificial intelligence. I will gladly post a simple text-mimicker program and discuss scary AI with you if you want.

Okay, my PC keeps on playing nursery rhymes. Around once every half an hour, even when no windows are open at all for anything, it begins to play this music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJyNoFkud6g in all types of variations, and sometimes an alphabet song sometimes sung by a man and someties sung by a woman.
I have no idea what this is. I found the youtube video by typing in the lyrics of the song into google, and there are so many of these videos that have millions of views and tons of nonsense comments. Usually you can find virus's names on google, but I can find any information on anything like this. I kinda half suspecting my comp might be haunted or something.
Any one have any idea what this is?

Anything by Richard Dolan.
- "UFOS for the 21st Century Mind" is a good overview of the entire subject for people who are still new to it.
- The two volumes of the "UFOS and the National Security State" series are very much more in-depth, going year by year from 1941-1973, and then 1973-1991 respectively. Dolan's research is academically scrupulous, and his training as a historian is obvious.
- "A.D. After Disclosure" is a very interesting read of what the aftermath of disclosure might be like.

I had a really weird experience today. I was in a situation that felt like I had lived it before. Not just normal dejavu; I remembered the exact situation and thinking the exact same thing from like weeks before, (I remembered thinking I was having a similar feeling of dejavu) but I know for sure it's a unique situation, not just like going to my local Ralphs or some shit. It was a full on memory. When I realized it my heart started pounding and I got that weird adrenaline taste in my mouth.
I don't know how to describe it, it was like two layers of dejavu that I actually /remembered/.
It feels like either I saw it in a dream, or I've relived the same moment more than once.
What do you guys think?

That's literally what deja vu is. But yeah I know what you're talking about. Sometimes it's just a vague feeling of familiarity, but other times it's so familiar you're sure you either dreamt it or lived it but you don't exactly remember when.
I tend to get deja vu about once or twice a year and it's usually something that seems trivial, but then I can't stop thinking about it.
An example is a phone call, knowing at what time the phone would ring, who it was, and what they were going to say and what I would say back before it happens, and when it does happen it's almost like it just happened already but it's happening again the same way

I figured out why some people are more conscious to paranormal activity. In Star Wars only people with high midiclorians are able to see the ghost of past Jedi. So people with high midiclorians would be able to sense paranormal activity.
