I've taken the creepypasta route more than once, hoping something /x/ related would happen. I've been ghost hunting, I've been to an abandoned asylum, I've tried rituals and ouija boards.
I'm more disappointed in the fact that nothing weird ever happens.

You're room is pitch black and you cannot see a thing, you're laying down, having trouble sleeping, your door makes a creak and you instantly sit up and look into the direction of where the sound came from. "Hello!?" You quickly say from fear. You then slowly lay back onto your side and try to go to sleep once more...until you hear a whisper in your ear. "hello."

Hey /x/. I'm just gonna cut to the chase here. I have this story I want to tell you all, and I'd love to hear what you all have to say about it.
So this happened about two weeks ago. Maybe a little less. It was the middle of the night. I was thirsty, so I went downstairs to get some water. As I neared the bottom of the stairs, I heard the voice of a little girl say "help". I was in a particularly bad mood that night, I don't remember why, so I said "fuck off" out loud. After I got my water, and I was heading up the stairs, I heard the same girl say "Nick, please". I just said "Seriously, I'm not in the fucking mood to deal with this right now. Fuck off" and I continued on my way. The rest of the night, I felt someone in my room, and I'm almost 100% sure it was her. That was the first time one ever talked to me. But this wasn't creepy at all. This sounded like a little girl who really needed help. She sounded so innocent. Her voice was weak and frail. She sounded tired. God, I can't get over the fact that she sounded so tired. I've seen and felt many different ghosts in my house and in other places. I never feel nor see the same one twice. I've also noticed that I've never seen one sitting. This is gonna sound extremely odd, but I get all teary eyed when I think about that. I get a lump in my throat, and tears will start to roll down my cheeks. It's like none of them are at rest. They're all wandering restlessly. I could've helped her come to rest. She could've finally been at peace. But I had to be a fucking asshole and tell her to fuck off. I'm still kicking my ass about this. It kills me knowing that I'll probably never get the chance to apologize to her.

Does anyone remember hearing about that one town in Wisconsin where like all of the inhabitants just basically went insane, and started killing each other. The town I know now is abandoned but I don't remember the town name. I do know their was a book called 'Wisconsin Death Trip' that was based off of this indecent. Definitely sounds like the beginning of Astral Projection.
Aww you chickened out right before the best part.
You got to the vibrations, the part right before your body goes into sleep paralysis. This is the usual point where most people freak out and break the process.
At this point, there's really nothing to do except to keep yourself conscious. The vibrations will come and go as your body descends to sleep mode. So keep that in mind, even when your body feels numb, that you continue to just stay still and give it more time.
Don't try any of those techniques that tell you to rise out of your body by pretending to float or whatever. For beginners especially, you just have no clue when it's time to do that. What usually happens is you end up trying to astral too early and mess up the process.
Just keep awake for as long as you can. It might take 10 mins to a half hour of you just lying there in nothingness. That's okay.
The astral part will happen automatically when your body is fully asleep. You'll start to dream fully conscious, and that is the doorway.
I had the same experience as you when I was first starting out, and my mistake was always trying to jump out of the body too early. Forget jumping out of the body. Just see your consciousness as a tuner, like a radio, and your just changing channels from your waking state to the astral state. You have no body there, so you don't need to physically try to move. In a dream, you move by pure intention. There is no physical sensation to it aside from the simulated physical sensations in the dream.
So just keep waiting. That's the best thing you can do. You don't even have to stay calm. You don't have to do anything but just to remain conscious.
I did this by using a mantra "mind awake, body asleep". You could also just try having a dialogue with yourself. Find out what works better for you. You might end up drifting off into sleep a few times which is okay. The key part is that after the vibrations, after the body sleeps, your mind will want to follow. Keep awake.

You may also feel like your falling through your bed or spinning in your body. Neither is actually astral projection. It's still your body creating sensations as it descends to paralysis. It's like how an amputee may feel an itch where they had a body part removed. It's still a physical thing, so pay it no mind.
The real astral won't feel like how you think it will. You will be body-less. It's not a feeling you can anticipate to know. So just keep waiting.

If you're afraid, that's okay. It's a weird experience, so it's natural to be afraid. Also people in general have a fear of losing control of their body. Just let your fear happen. It might break you out of the process. And if that happens, just start all over again. The more you get used to being in that limbo place, the less you'll be afraid of it over time. Disregard any sensations or sounds or sights. Not until you're completely absolutely sure that you're in. Remember that it can take a while, so be patient.

Hey, first time i'm posting /x/, this is the paranormal, right?
So, these last few weeks all my dreams have been roughly the same thing, and I'm fairly sure it has to do with (christian) hell. The dream starts with some pop song (for no discernible reason) then slowly devolves into that song becoming muffled under the sound of strange heckling, and languages i can't understand talking to another, some moaning and some screaming. While I hear that, I get flashing images of deep crevices in the ground spewing smoke, or my own house, run down and warped, with tilted walls and different colour to it.. And the demons, too. Horselike things slick with blood, with legs that looks like sharp splinters of bone, and somehow a fleshy mane twisting and throbbing as if it was a tentacle.. And that's just one of the animals.. I saw at least a dozen demons, in pairs with one animal-like thing, and one more humanoid (usually red and horned, what can I say, my mind likes classics) standing at its side, doign everything from petting it to eating it..
Should I be concerned? I'm not religious, but if that continues, I might need the spirituality.

I'd like to add something.
I didn't see my house in itself, I saw the narrow staircase, warped, old, and shaded with different colours that seemed to pulse. At the top of the stairs, a 'man' sat on some kind of rest, like a pillow but not. It was either obese, or clad in very flowing robes. I'd like to think that it could've been the stereotypical Buddha, but that would be false, even though it was sitting with legs crossed, and at least one hand on its leg. At the top of this staircase, it was greyish white and with a horned goats' head, stereotypical as it is, and was dressed in simple cloth that was draped over his shoulder, like a toga.. The colours all around were vibrant, sickly vibrant, like in Hotline Miami, throbbing and nauseating, but this man was dull marble grey. I think it raised a hand or something when I saw him, then I woke up.
Pic related. Taking that pic gave me chills. I'd also like to add that something was glowing red deep down in the pitch black underneath the staircase, almost like that scene in Lord of the Rings, at Isengard.
