Anyone up for an experiment here? I'm sure most of you know what an egregore is. For those who don't, I will provide a brief explanation:

What is my experiment? Simply for us to combine our actions and thoughts, via a thread, into a visual anchor that will bring about change through a fictional story that could manifest in someway in reality. This doesn't mean we can just think something fictional to life, it means that our collective thoughts will manifest some change in reality.
Will it work? Fuck if I know. That's why it's an experiment.
What is the plan of action?
1. Create a suitable image
2. Come up with an explanation or mystery
3. Create a supporting mythos and, importantly, how it is directly important for people to know or understand it
4. disseminate this information throughout the internet
Notes: This doesn't have to be a monster or a physical thing. It could be a curse brought on by seeing an image, or by doing something (through reverse psychology will tempt people to do it). But this is with the intent purpose to cause change and see what happens.

That anon has a point. In our day to day due to the news desensitizing us we've come to expect the worst as common place. A bunch of people died from an explosion or virus, the sun's going to kill our electronics, asteroid apocalypse, yada yada.
Hearing we've inexplicably found the cure for all disease or something like that would have a much bigger impact on society.
There's a reason fear and anger are so easy to trigger. Something that can only be attributed to an outright miracle however triggers a feeling that's much harder to handwave. If you've seen what blind faith looks like and does you'd know it's powerful stuff. It has all people clamoring to praise the source behind it to gain favor and safety.

Has anyone ever actually been to one of the "really" haunted places everyone always talks about and experienced something unexplainable?
Locations like Bobby Mackey's Music World and The Villisca Axe Murder House?
I have always been a skeptic, but one day I would like to go to one of these places to see if they actually are really hauted.
Well most of the "real" haunted places are hard to get. Especially at the really crazy places they have to have you sign a waiver and all that shit. Plus they over hype the shit out of it and monetize the fuck out of it where the only possibility to get in would be to pay lots of money or wait a long fucking time.
We have a few local places I've been too.
Currently in my city and around I've visited the
Shanghai Tunnels
Fort Vancouver
The Pittock Mansion
The Kennedy School
A few abandoned mining towns sprinkled around the Tilimook county
Shanghai Tunnels was by far the most interesting. But I didn't believe the hype about shit happening to you.
It wasn't all that much as most of the areas where closed off because the local stores sealed their sections off.
But i did feel sadness and a feeling of pain in my arms. It also smelt different. Like death almost.
But nothing around here that's particularly scary. Everything's really mellow. But hang around the Portland downtown at 2 am and you'll see some shit that would scare you to death.
Have been to the site of the Bell Witch house (house torn down), as well as the cemetery where the family is buried. Saw and experienced nothing, though it was daylight, so didn't spoop ourselves out any. Took a tour of the Bell Witch Cave, kind of creepy, friend claimed to have been touched inside and then pushed when we were outside it by the creek bed. He did indeed fall hard, so...maybe? Don't even know if they still have a tour there though, it was so many years ago. Friend's sister used to drive down to house site before it was torn down (it was fenced off) and claimed they would see lights and hear crazy noises from inside. She seemed serious and honest at time, that's why we went to see.

Reincarnation bros, how plausible do you think it would be to create a narrative in this life that depicts a character that eventually dissolves their own ego, and become heavily invested in it as a means of influencing your own karma so that after death you reincarnate as them (roughly, your other karmic entanglements would probably alter the narrative in existential practice)?
You could make it profound, but it's tricky to depict true ego-lessness on a page. To a low level person, they'd be crazy.

would imply that you were willing to let it influence your decisions and actions. Apologies if that's not quite what you meant. If it is, then I would say yes, it is entirely possible. And more than that, the fact that you have this character or narrative in your awareness, would mean that it is there in your psyche already, a part of you which is trying to express. I've worked with sub-personalities in psychotherapy and identifying with an ideal or archetype can be a powerful way of experiencing what it is to be or express that quality or function. Want to be confident? What does 'confident' anon look like? Do they have a different posture, a different way of moving, a different feel, different thoughts? Same with 'dissolving your ego', what does that look like to you, and if you allowed that experience into your thoughts, feelings and body, what would that be like?
You couldn't guarantee that you would re-incarnate as that character fully-formed, but it sounds like your work is to create and express that character. Be careful though as to what you expect from 'dissolving your ego'. Changes have to be embodied and old shit cleared out, or you will risk delusion and unpleasant surprises in the future.

Okay /x/, please hear me out here. I'm not 100% sure if this is the right board to write this in, but I don't know where else this would fit.
For a long while now, I've been noticing things. Strange coincidences that happen a bit too often, leading me to believe that they're not just coincidences.
Here's an example. Let's say I'm multitasking. I'm reading something or doing something on my phone, while listening to a Youtube video in the background. As I'm reading, I read a word, and directly after reading that word, I hear it in the Youtube video that I'm listening to in the background. This is just one example.

So i was driving late with one friend and he told me that every time he pases righ next to one building he pointed it, he felt that the statues of the children there (very similar to pic) started staring at him, and that he felt really sick every time, the red light stopped us so I was able to watch those statues for a little longer, and I felt their gaze upon me, I felt very sad because I could sense they were actually children there were 3 of them, and they were trapped in that place, I could feel their suffering and tit was like they were telling me, "Help us" I didn't knew what to do I just kept driving I have no idea what kind of energy keeps em there, but I couldn't contain my tears, now I really wanna help em but I don't know what to do besides cleaning the place.

It was in Mexico City in front of an institution called DIF
It's 11:30 PM-ish here in Nevada. I live in a very mountainous area. I just woke up to hear what sounded like tons of discordant sirens blaring sounding like they were coming from on or behind the mountains I can see from my backyard. It was like a repeated drone noise of about 3-4 different sirens all at once ending and stopping for about two or so minutes. Now it's gone.
I am legit spooked. Does anyone know what it could've been? For a second I thought it was a pack of wolves because you do hear those howling together in a pack sometimes but it wasn't an animal noise. It sounded like a pack of discordant emergency sirens making the same noises and overlapping over and over.

I think suicide is kind of cowardly, but I hate the people who say it is selfish.
My personal belief is that if you commit suicide there is a very high chance that you will get stuck on earth due to your grief and not be able to leave until you come to terms with what happened.
The reason I believe this, is I believe a very high number of the people who commit suicide probably end up regretting it as they do it and its too late, or after they death can't move on due to denial.
I do think some people who commit suicide truly do want to die though. There are certain things that I think can even "justify" a suicide.
But in my personal opinion most suicides are cowardly acts, giving up is never acceptable in my mind.
