hey guys I want to share this story of what I saw one night in Afghanistan. I will put in as many facts as I can.
I was working as a civilian contractor on FOB Shank back in 2014, this was before the drawdown so there still was a bunch of troops on the base. The base has since been handed over to the Afghans.
I was living on camp 36, which is where most of the civilian contractors stayed. To get from where I lived to the hercules gym you could either follow the main road or cut thru the rotary wing runway, the cut thru saved about 15 minutes both ways, so it was a no brainer use the cut thru.
I finished my shift at about 0400 one night, went home, got changed, and proceeded on the long walk to the gym.
Now it was a full moon and this was a black out FOB, so you can see very clearly for some distance at this point.
as i came to the end of the access road I came to a big rock yard, I believe it is where they did sling loads at this point. I looked off into the distance and saw a large figure, moving from left to right, at a high rate of speed. The choppers at this part of the base were civilian and didnt fly during night, so there was no one else down here just me all alone in the afghan night.
this creature was a good distance away, but still i could see it was on two legs, moving FAST, and HUGE! Now i cant tell you if it had hair or what it looked like, i watched it for about a minute and a half. it disappeared into the darkness of the hesco barriers, which marked the permiter of the base, i assume it was trying to get off.
i was scared shitless and it was a nerve wracking walk to the gym, I stayed at that base until it was closed down and never again had an encounter with whatever that was.

There was this movie I saw over 10 years ago on TV, and for the life of me I can't find it again. I'm not trying to write a haunted-show pasta, I'm legitimately looking for people who have seen the movie or at least know what I'm referring to.
It's about a guy, in the 80s or 90s, who wants to become a magician. He goes to this world famous magician who just staged his own death (in more ways than one) and is now planning on lying low for the rest of his life. He refuses to teach the man, and insists that he's only an illusionist, because "magicians do it for real." Beyond that I just remember that at the end they were in some abandoned-looking town in a desert somewhere and there were these magicians hanging out there doing dark arts shit. I think they kidnapped someone or something so they were there to rescue them. The villain's magic is more third-eye/true mind type magic vs. your usual fire and lightning type of Hollywood wizards, and it was pretty cash. He told the protagonist he was going to show him the ugly truth of humanity and hit him with some kind of mind-bolt or something that made everyone the protag saw start like warping inside out and it was real freaky.
Beyond that I only remember the pro-magician who the protagonist goes to, to learn magic, may have looked like a stern Gene Wilder. But, no more than I remember about the film he could've just been blond, or had curly hair. No such film shows on Wilder's IMDB so I doubt it was him.

Was walking home late a few nights ago with my General Tso's chicken, cause that's what I do. A motorcyclist was going nuts down the road and popped a curb. Guy flew off and body slammed a road sign. Hit hard enough to bend it. I thought he got decapitated but it was just his helmet. I called 911. Brown hair, brown eyes, no older than 30, bleeding from the nose and ears. He was breathing and awake, but couldn't move. Busted spine and neck injury for sure. He told me his name, where he lived, asked me to call his mom. I grabbed his phone from his jacket - cracked screen but functional. Asked for his unlock pin and suddenly he started winking uncontrollably in his left eye. I asked how he was doing and he said "fine considering." Then nothing. Just stopped breathing. That was it. Paramedics arrived, loaded the body. Police took my statement and everything but they seemed concerned about it. Spoke with 4 officers in total. One officer pulled me aside to 'get to the bottom of it' and asked if I knew the guy. I told her no, why? She pulls out a plastic evidence bag. In it is the guys keys. Lucky rabbits (and chicken?) foot and all. She screws around with the keys through the bag until she's holding a clear plastic Keychain tag. In the tag is a small card with the current date, the time about 30 minutes ago, and my first, middle and last name all neatly printed out along with 3 symbols on the bottom. She asked if I know anything about it, and at first I figured it was a medical thing they did to keep track or something, but that doesn't make sense. I told her no and was released after a few more minutes. I got home and ate my cold Chinese food. They haven't contacted me since so I guess it's over. Anyone have similar stuff?
