ITT: Nightmares that scared the shit out of you

Nothing quite like that, but I used to have this recurring dream of being stranded on a freeway. Little 4yo me running around trying to get out of the rush of cars. Had the dream literally every night
The last time I had the dream I was thirteen, and instead of getting hit I made it to the side and jumped off the overpass. I woke up before I hit the ground, but I never had the dream again.
I had a tonne of nightmares when I was a little kid, I could explain a bunch and I might, but I'll start with one.
I was chased all around some random hotel, trying to get away from my dad for some reason. I would be going up and down the elevators to escape. Eventually, he caught me in one and backed me into a corner.
I used to hate and kind of still do to this day the feeling of being poked.
Basically, the nightmare ended in being poked again and again and again, hard. I could feel it all through the dream, like my body was convulsing to dodge them.
This was one of the lighter of the nightmares.

Not "post"-apocalyptic/zombie horror, because it's almost always about rebuilding the world the way it used to be, or you only ever see a small handful of people die. I want things that are bleakly certain about the world ending and maybe about people coming to terms with that, then actually dying along with the rest of humanity.
I feel like there's a lack of that (at least compared to all the post-apocalyptic settings there are out there in pop culture). Fiction and art that's totally embedded in a committal sense of finality. Ragnarok, entropy, a black hole. Death, not survival.

I only started to visit this board after recent events lead me to investigate something I don't really understand. I'm not going to greentext because there are details I would probably leave out by accident. To preface what is currently happening I work as a security consultant for a pretty shabby operation in Houston Texas. I only visit my office around three times a week because I'm required to travel to different parts of Texas to negotiate deals on behalf of the company and give consultations on what type of security the customer might need.
Around a week ago I got a call from my boss saying that one of our good customers was having problems with six of his cameras. I'm not a tech, I don't do the installs but I still wanted to investigate in the event some kind of electrical problem had caused all six to go out. I took one of the techs with me to the customers house only to find all six cameras were in working order. They even continued to record after we got the call. Naturally I'm inclined to pretend there is a problem with them when dealing with a customer so I had the tech dismount them and bring them back to my office.
Few hours later we get back and I have the tech start checking out each camera while I go through the SD cards on each with the DVR so I can see what the client was seeing. Occasionally there would be some kind of obscure distortion in the clients home office and other times it would take place in the child's room. His child isn't actually there, from what I understand he's divorced and the child is in Canada with his mother until next fall. Nothing strange was happening and going through hours and hours of recording can get pretty boring.

The longer the recordings went the more pixelated the images became. Keep in mind only the office and child's room became like this at first. I guess it resembled something like a shitty gas station camera. This perplexed me because all the cameras are linked to a central alarm unit and can detect when they are being tampered with. My tech told me that they had in fact not been tampered with which was a relief because sometimes the clients will fuck around with them and break them.
All the cameras can be controlled, turned and used with a cell phone. There is a log of usage stored within the DVR so we can see if the client actually did something wrong to initiate the malfunction but he only ever used it remotely once to adjust a camera over his front door. I had to rule out client fault pretty quickly I guess because nothing indicated to me or the tech he had done anything wrong. Time went on, the images in the office and child's room became so poorly pixelated there wasn't anything to look at but a blur.
This is the part that got both me and the tech. There was motion detected by the cameras in both affected rooms indicating someone was moving around in them. You could physically see it happening on both cameras at the same time. In the office it was very active and in the child's room whoever it was sat down on the ledge by the window. I called the client to ask if anyone had been in his house. Turns out it had only been his brother but he visited neither room according to the client.

/x/'s thoughts on premonition? I have them a lot, mostly during my dreams. Problem is that I don't remember them until after the events have already happened. Like, for example, I had one of my grandmother passing away. I can vividly recall every single detail of the funeral home where we held her service, even though I've never been inside it. I also remember going into her house and seeing her dead body, but it was like she was covered in a something that was obscuring my vision
Idk, the premonitions occur so frequently that I have problems separating them from my actual dreams. All I know is that when I recall them, either something very good or very bad is going to happen, there is no inbetween

Sort of? I've been having them since I was a teen, I'm twenty six now. I've kind of kept it a secret and only told a handful of people due to the sheer looniness of it. It's because of these premonitions that I've kind of had to rethink my faith in god. Because how can free will truly exist if everything hinges on an unchangable course of events
I've only had one that panned out. For some reason, when I was about twelveish, I told my adoptive mother that "someone close to us is going to die soon," while we were on the way home from taking our dog to the vet. She said she hoped it wasn't the dog, and I said it wasn't. Two days later, her boyfriend from high school that she was still friends with died. He was a good guy, played part-time dad to me after my adoptive father died.
I've gotten the same feeling a couple times since then, but nothing ever happened that I'm aware of. I just put it off as me being a creepy kid back then.
Hey, /x/, I have a little of a situation. This isn't my first time posting here, in fact I've been posting here the last three years ever since that thing happened.
Anyway, I recently came in possession of this. Not strictly saying paranormal, but when I looked into it, I was convinced that it was at least something paranormal, if not only super creepy. I've talked with people before so I though why not and just came to /x/ to see if you guys would know anything of this?
To start, I came into possession of this jar of 'stuff' in early 2013. It was given to me by a neighbor of mine who I'd not known greatly but we talked before. He came to my door and gave me this telling me to take good care of it and to not give it away. We never talked since because he was so distant and he was getting dementia and soon passed away about maybe two years ago.
Anyway, I just assumed this jar was like vinegar or piss or some gross shit but when I opened it it smelled pretty normal, like water. I just put it away because why the fuck not.
The weird part is I've had a lot of trouble since I got it, more so now, with people coming to me trying to sell me stuff and asking me who I'm voting for or even if I had inherited any amount of wealth. I didn't go to any experts strictly because of this and since I thought it was pointless.
The weird part is, I think whatever it is inside is alive or even mutating. I can clearly see bubbles forming and maybe some kind of pulp but there's this weird worm-looking thing floating around in it. And it's grown.
