My library has a stand promoting the reading of controversial and banned books, what a good day.
They have Mein Kampf or "controversial" books like Lolita?

what do they have?

Kek just finished this. Was pretty funny. Didn't seem all that feminist to me. What did you guys think.

It failed to impact me in any meaningful way. Or non-meaningful, either. Trashy high-fantasy novels elicited more response than this.
I found his comments on writing to be very juvenile and self-aggrandising.

Anyone here run into this? I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. They can't possibly be making much of anything doing this. Did good morning America run some show about how books are worth money, or is the economy really getting that bad?
Did pick out a copy of an idiot abroad despite all that, but god damn, sucked the fun...

Hello guys;
I'm looking for authors that write in french (it doesn't matter if it's the joual québécois, créole or the ol' regular french) that are similar to the american transcendentalists or the higher consciousness of Alan Watts.
I've tried to search french authors that were influenced by Lao-Tze or zen buddhism but couldn't find anyone. In my university they pointed Germaine de Staël, Benjamin Constant, François-René de Chateaubriand and Alphonse de Lamartine, but they were all distant from the american movement by a romantic thought...

Both will do, if you know any work that's worth reading, I'm sure it will be great for my bibliography
Is there something I amn't getting about Emily Dickinson's poetry?
Nope. She's a meme author who is propped up by feminism. Her poems are trash.

other than it's trash? nope, you got it all, OP!
even if you don't get them, they're sweet to hear and are short.

I don't know how can you talk about Nietzsche, Homer or Shakespeare as if they were sudoku puzzles. Do you even think about the gravity and implications for your own life as you read? Or do you just finish the book and file it away as another "patrish" reference to throw around?
I've spent the last two weeks reading Homer, Attic tragedy and Nietzsche and now most of the time I feel like I'm about to fucking puke.

The two boys start the story as half-formed people who help each other to grow and discover themselves until they're complete and can come together for a brief blissful moment.
And all the while there's an everpresent sense of dread becuase inevitably the...
