Faust was clear idea to ending age started by Divine Comedy, but seriously Goethe is retarded compare to Dante, his epic is progressively worse (DC is progressively better), biggest joke is ending - stupid, NAIVE ending (compare harsh mediaval morality with forgivable morality of Faust seen by eyes of weak, romantic character - jus do thing and you will be all right! - hi la rious) that does not leave reader with any thoughts afterward. you could microdose acid i guess, i haven't tried it but my friend swears by it. im struggling to think of a non amphetamine drug that doesn't make u sleepy or lose focus.

it's a simple book. any translation will do.
I read 60 pages of this in the library and it was more understandable and enjoyable than Living in the end times (I enjoyed zizek's videos related to it, but the book was incomprehensible) and first as tragedy then as farce (which is similar to trouble but becomes less comprehensible later, but it's better than end times).
I think this should be the new zizek recommendation for laymen
