My NY Resolution is to stop subvocalizing (except by choice)

How can this be best accomplished?

fuck, I read this in Zizek's voice and imagined a massive sniff right before the "except by choice" part.

Anyway, I want to do the same thing but have no idea how to start
>>

Wait, how do you subvocalize things if you've never heard the authors voice?

Hey /lit/, I couldn't find a specific image focused on Odysseus Weeps, but I can't find any relevant or substantial information on it. Could someone here, tell me a little bit about it or direct me to a link about it? Also if you've read it, what was your experience with it? Thanks guys.

How's UNT and UT Dallas for /lit/erature studies?
42 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Had a high school teacher whose alumni was UNT. He was completely disinterested in anything experimental (think Pynchon and DFW), liked things that were more accessible. Kind of a one-track mindset towards art. Though that probably doesn't say anything about the program.
>>
>>7525354
Don't go there bro. Any real uni will just laugh at that recommendation/resume. Go to Oklahoma if you stay in 903.
>>
Also UT Dallas is extremely math and science oriented. While they do have a humanities department, it's quite small. most students are majoring in STEM subjects. I'm not sure about the quality of the program, but you might not find very many peers interested in eclectic lit, or literature at all.

I think literary critics already hold it in very high regard as an important piece of literature, but I guess it hasn't found its way to most average readers' bookshelves because it's old, weird and french.

I just finished this tome and holy shit. Fuck all the pseudo-intellectual cucks on the board who think fantasy can't be literature. This book is art.
32 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
I agree with you to an extent op. Name of the Wind has pretty good prose for fantasy, and the gary-stu deconstruction is interesting but the next book in the series is a total let down, it's all over the place and his love interest is just down right frustrating as hell as well as his "i'm a good boy but not really attitude" all the way through.
>>
>>7524857
it's a generic "coming of age heroes tale" that has about as much literary merit as the new Star Wars film or LotR fan fiction

Even Gene Wolfe, with all his pseudo-Proustrian fanfare is more worthy of the "literary genre fiction" title than this;to call it "art" is an insult to actual artists.

WHAT LITERATURE DO YOU SPEAK OF FRIEND? AH YES, the book where evil nameless bad dude kills the main character's parents which creates a kind of magic link between them and the protagonist has a tough life as an orphan but he has really strong magical powers and ends up at a magical academy where he makes some goofy but trustworthy friends, and some slytherin enemies (and the snape like wizard teacher who doesn't like him), and he is fucking phenomenal at everything he tries. and by the way did you know he is a golden lute player who is one of the best players fucking ever and charms the local denizens. he can cross class lines no problem, magical academy, inn ruffians, magical blacksmiths, everyone who is good loves him. oh and in the next book he becomes a ninja, and a sex master. at some point he also becomes a master of political intrigue. the character's own flaw is being such a fucking white knighting faggot that he chases after the same dumb bitch forever always right out of his reach as a sort of cliffhanger of enticement for fatty neckbeards like rothfuss and grrm to rub their tiny penises, mostly buried by their voluminous blubber. SUCH LITERATURE

I have interesting thoughts I'd like to transcribe on paper, but I find my thoughts flowing through a piece of technology with more grace than in a notebook. With my hand, my thoughts seem clunky and disjointed. Is there any way around this or should I stick to my phone?
>>
>>7524866
I think it's just a matter or preference. I want to try something online because all I could ever do was on paper. We are kind of opposites in this. So you just write on your phone on some app like notes?

I know the alt lit crowd takes a lot of drugs. Have any of them fried their brain yet? I'm talking unable to form coherent sentences and not really being a full person any more, the way Hunter S. Thompson was in his later years.
