What's your stance on writing in the margins of books you own?
I only do so in school textbooks. Typically in the form of doodled penises and racist epithets in regards to any color people depicted.

I got old books from my grandma, and I really want to keep them, however they have broen spotty mold on them (cover mostly).
What is the best way to sterilize it so it doesn't spread to my collection?
I have access to -80C freezer, autoclave, liquid nitrogen, and lab grade chemicals.
Thoughts?

If you put them into a freezer for a week, the mold should die. Or at least the mold-spots on some of my beer-soaked drinking books haven't gotten bigger that way.

Try Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. I'm not even kidding. It's a great stepping stone to literature because it makes you feel smart even if you aren't, is known for difficulty but is actually very easy to read, and probably relates to the problems that you're going through right now, so will be a relatively meaningful experience at least. You will soon grow out of it once you realize it's not all that incredible when compared to other works, and when you begin to recognize more and more...

When reading the Trial I noticed that mental the imagery of Kafka's world flowed congruently with the Anderson's over-regulated and engaging style.
