Do you guys have any recs for someone who just picked up reading as a hobby? I just finished Shadow of the Torturer, I didn't really get that engaged with it, I'm reading The Hobbit right now and it's pretty. I want something that's going to challenge me though.

No. There is a very small number of great female writers. Neil Gaiman, Jodi Picoult and Tina Fey shouldn't be listened to, by the way.

I've read it, it's okay if you're too autistic to understand social cues or just a sociopath wanting to improve their manipulation skills.
I've also read How to Read a Book: The Classic Guide to Intelligent Reading. I cannot justify reading it completely, just read the summary at the end of the chapters, you won't miss anything important. It's good if you come from a poor educational background where reading wasn't encouraged, it feels...

No, the issue is that they are mostly subjective ramblings of an individual that wants to make money. I do not wish to change anything about myself, but I'm open to change when it comes. I.e., I would like it to be on my own discovery, with my memories and connotations so I can back it up instead of referring to a book.

The guy was wrong because Log Horizon was never about life or death tension, it was about exploring the ideas of an MMO merging with reality. Not to mention they do lose out on memories when dying which makes death keep an element of tension.

he's right, although it's not necessarily feigl's fault. it's just a really stupid method of reducing things to an aspect and then bringing in what was lost in the process in the form of a paradoxon. the irony of this method is that it relies heavily on a form of reductionism that it criticizes and assumes it works just like that in science or a person experiencing something.
