Is anyone on /lit/ a lawyer or currently going through law school? What books, that you've actually read, helped your analytical abilities and actually contributed to your success in a notable way? On the subject, is law school worth it? A lot of people tell me it's not but i really enjoy it. It's honestly a passion. It's all I read about, I stopped reading fiction awhile ago, a-am I doing it right?

it all depends on the kind of person you are OP, yes having a large amount of money is something I will be working for, but I'm in your shoes...i truly fucking love law, interpretation, etc..
you live the way the life YOU CHOOSE to live and you can do it many different ways...the way i look at it is:
sure there could be a chance i won't be a millionaire etc like hollywood bullshit tells us, but at least i KNOW i will be happy practicing law and if i get rich in the process or even make enough money to be comfortable then that would be just fucking great!
then again, i am some random replier, take my advice if you'd like...just don't let 4chan /lit/ be the one to tell you what to do, just let it influence you at the least.

I got back into reading a few months ago and it was a really great decision, I feel like I'm always learning new things and it's great. I mostly read non-fictions (cinema theory, I read a few Plato dialogues, Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, a bit of classic poetry or novels.
Problem is, I feel like I'm not reading enough, or not in the best way. I mostly read at uni or in the public transports, almost never at home because I find it hard to focus in such a friendly and everyday environment. Also, I feel like I'm a really slow reader,...

If you decide to go for poetry pay attention to metaphors and to imagery. It is not worth your time writing poetry if it is not filled with imagistic. Verse plays are a hard medium, and you will need to study a lot to learn how to balance a colorfull imagery with everyday speech that makes the action walk foward. How do you develop the discipline and concentration to read deeply and with concentration. When I was an early teen I used to read books again and again. Most importantly, I would often lie down and simply think about what I read for hours.
I've just realized that I cannot read for more than an hour continuously, and it takes me a while to get back to it. I literally never am staring into the blankness contemplating, it's always staring at a screen- a phone, a kindle or a desktop.
How do I pick up the pieces of my life and get back...

I became an avid reader like three months ago and I can't stop. I stopped watching tv and I don't spend much time on 4chan anymore.
Here's how I did it.
-Remember the average person reads like zero books a year. If you read 5 pages a day, you are 5 pages above the average person
-Don't force yourself to read. Commit to read 5 pages a day. I swear after three days you'll feel like reading more and after a month or so you should be reading 50-100 pages a day for pleasure

Have you even actually read Nietzsche? or only this image? If the former, then go read Gadamer or Heidegger, and you'll get a better understanding of what that statement in particular is getting at.
Nietzsche is a faggot but he's basically right (although probably for the wrong reasons). The senses and "reason" are both equally imprecise, so there's no way to be 100% sure of something. However, we'd all just sit around twiddling our thumbs if we acted on this, so for pragmatic purposes we have to at least pretend that certainty is possible.
