Islam is part of our daily lives wether we want or not. I for one would like to learn more about it, since I know so little. Thus my question is, are there any books you could recommend that deal with Islam? Fact or fiction, both would be good, although I'd rather read some fact first. And please don't tell me to just read wikipedia, I've done that but I find it to be very boring and would rather read an actual book.

what's the best way to write impressions about something I read? I'm not going for a professional review or anything, just something I can share with others. I honestly don't know about what to mention in that kind of thing... like maybe a check list kind of thing?
I'm asking because when asked about what I think about something I've read I usually don't really know how to answer besides the very basic "I liked it" and whatnot, and I kind of want to record my thoughts of a work to revisit it in the future since...

Over the course of about a year I've gathered a huge collection of high brow literary works for absurdly cheap or non-existent (hehe) prices. I have read exactly zero0of a bookshelf nearing triple digits. Irony aside, I also semi-do this as well. I brought many religious books, a lot of philosophy and all of the Greeks, the Chinese and Romans. I'm considered quite intellectual because I am SEEN reading a lot, and I do read, but all of it is YA and SFF. For the plebian mind, all reading is intellectual regardless and merely being seen with a book makes you seem elite.

You won't understand Thus Spake Zarathustra (I have no idea why people keep pretending like it's straightforward - maybe they don't read and are bullshitting?). The rest are pretty standard and straightforward existentialist (C&P is arguable 2bh but it's at least a proto existentialist work and often gets thrown around in existentialism 101 type classes).
Substitute Nietzsche for something like Either/Or by Kierkegaard and you'd be better off. Or even (if you have a lot of patience)...
