Thoughts on this man?
I just read his Poland and Alaska and was afraid i would slog through them, but they turned out to be great reads. Perhaps not the most accurate factually and ideologically, as he takes liberties and creates characters and events alongside historical ones, but i loved the way he creates context for geographical regions and describes the grandeur that exists in things most people would never bother describing like the view of the mountain ranges and forests from a town now lost to time, or the process required to mine gold in a permafrost.

How do I get into poetry? Is there a recommendation chart?

I started with the Bloom and Norton anthologies and went from there.

How do I get my book published? All the publishers either won't respond to my emails or they'll just flat out decline.

Hey /lit/, as someone who lives in a shitty part of Asia, I often find myself alone in my admiration of Western ideals.
Most people I know think of colonialism and exploitation when they think of Europe, and they refuse to look any further than this. What books would you suggest to introduce an outsider/layman to Western culture? My go-to suggestion is usually just Thomas Paine's Rights of Man and some Wikipedia articles about things like the French Revolution to provide some historical context, but I was wondering if there are any other books that are more accessible...
