This is a much better book. Highly recommended.
Not really similar beyond the counterculture thing, but go for it anyhow.

I'd go in, but I really can't participate. It induces an accelerated feeling of this place, usually, where if I don't pay full attention, I might miss some profound beautiful moment, and I really can't have that kinda anxiety in my life, so I disregard the whole thing.
The chat has an amazing legacy. Its like a train that keeps moving on through anything
What are some big controversies in literature?
Shakespeare in general has divided many people on many topics. Whether he was a catholic, whether he was gay, etc.
these issues have mostly dissolved into the SJW generation insisting no/yes and the scholars saying yes/no, though. spoiler: the older interpretations have much better grounding

Has anyone ever attempted multiple readings of Finnegans Wake in one sitting?
What would you do to survive this 100 hour+ endeavour?

I am uncultured and dumb. Which books should I read to slowly start bettering myself ? I've seen /lit/ starting guides, but I think they lack works that would help me get a better general culture before tackling more serious literature.

How do I become a genius writer and join the canon?
Pls spoonfed me.
Read The Artist's Way and do all the exercises. You'll literally become a vessel of pure creativity, possibly from God.
Shoot lower, you're never going to be a genius

Nordic nations seem to be quite literate for some reason. Apparently one out of ten people from Iceland publishes a book in their lifetime.
Dunno, maybe has something to do with it being cold and people staying inside to read books. All we here in Germany notice of the Scandinavian book culture is Astrid Lindgren, Sven Nordqwist, and that endless stream of shitty formulaic thrillers with an ominous object on an otherwise black cover with titles like "Murderer in the Darkness" or "Shadow of Blood"...

Cool book, nothing really amazing about it, really winded on some parts and a lot of boring passages. I found some of the concepts and characters really good tho, also the bizarre bits were really fun to read and have some good memorable moments

This was the book I've understanded the least of those 3. Still some amazing passages like Pokler storyline, the whole chapter 4 and the vicerous Katje and Gottfried bit. Anyway I've...

Im getting really sick of these ESL cucks reading translations. You fucks obviously know English so read it in English or gtfo
>>7792532
whats the problem with translations? My english isn't good enough to fully understand Joyce, so I prefer to read in my language a books that was translated by someone that knows the language and the author way better than me
don't you read translations? don't you read Dante? Virgil? Homer? Proust? Tolstoy? Saramago? Kawabata? Rosa?
one day I will understand why translations triggers /lit/ so much
>>7792532
This. If you can shitpost in English don't be a faggot by reading translations of English books. Translations are for people who can't read the original language.

I have recently been exposed to the concept of antinatalism and well, it doesn't sit right with me. But that is about all I have. I cannot find a rational argument against it and on the internet at least it usually seems like the antinatalist is trying to engage other people in thoughtful discussion but they just insist he is depressed and that he should kill himself. If anything that kind of knee-jerk reaction just pushes me further into this philosophy of total cynicism. So I am asking here what are some actual logical moral arguments against antinatalism? Why is it wrong?
read better to have never been or whatever the fuck it's called
then kill yourself lol idk
