Do you guys know where I can learn how this game engine is working? (Might and MAgic 7)
I know for instance that games like these have fan patches, fan mods, even a full new game made out of the original engine and assets

Are you talking about Echo of Destruction? That thing won't come out I believe.
Also perhaps you should talk to Sergey a.k.a. Grayface. He just released the second version of the MMExtension which allows modifications of outer maps.

MM7 has better mechanics, the classes are more balanced, has a good and evil path, and continues a certain bit of story from MM3 and HoMM2/3 (though you don't have to play MM3 to understand this, as MM3's actual plot can be contained to its ending video, honestly). It's pretty great. However, it was also a little rushed out, which mostly shows in that the dungeons are really lame.
MM7 rocks, whichever way you look at it. It's MM8 where most people start having issues, and nobody ever likes MM9.
I recently purchased the famicom version of Karnov, mostly to check out the manual and box. It's one of my favorite old games. I would like to know what they say, if anyone would be kind enough to translate.

It was great. Though that "Civil War" cheat you got for getting best ranks in the first level made the game considerably easier, with everyone shooting each other so you only need to pick off the final guy.

I'm not sure why, but something about this game just enthralls me. I've wasted PLENTY of time setting traps in rooms, finding efficient ways to kill people, and adding onto my mansion. I love it.

They tried to have a normal life for months after waking up, but since it didn't work out Gillian went looking for answers.
It's not perfect, but it's fun and very charming. The way you play this game is really unique, without any direct control over the character. No other pointn click does that. It also looks pretty great, especially for a Genesis game.
This game is a strange mix of horrible yet oddly compelling gameplay.

The NGPC has some the best fighting games on a retro handheld, if you're into that kind of thing.
The game library itself is nothing special compared to the massive gameboy, but that's expected.
Sonic pocket adventure is the best sonic game ever made imo. There's also a pokemon clone with robots, it's pretty cool. Some of the puzzle games are pretty good too. I can't think of anything else that made this system special. It kind of sucks really, but that's the library's...

Yay, another one of these. I might play it later. I watched something for beginners and it said that going into crypts are a great way to get started since they're small, and to always have a teleport spell since the dungeons are far more complicated than later elder scroll games. I-is this right?

Compared to the other elder scroll games the dungeons in Daggerfall are mostly labyrinthine, crypts are alright imo and as for the recall spell its really useful if you want to get out of any dungeon if you finished the objective however its not really required it is however highly recommended for beginners. Aslo you can make note on the map, watch the webm.

There have been a few threads for best story in a retro game, but what about for the nes?
The 8-bit age was the era where more advanced story-telling was just beginning to form in gaming. Often primitive, the stories told tended to be incomprehensible, jumbled, or rushed together. But there were some exceptions.
Which nes games had the best stories in your opinion?
Do people actually read that shit? I thought long ass exposition was what you hated the most about modern gaming.
Dragon Quest/Warrior 4, hands down. Its chapter structure is incredibly unique even by today's standards. Not only do the first 4 chapters tell all the character's stories before joining the Hero in chapter 5, but those early chapters are also peppered with hints of the greater threat to come.
