What's your favorite retro Wrestling game, /vr/?
I'd say either No Mercy or this, as a close second.
This one. No Mercy is number 2 for me though.
WM 2000 was just a reskinned Revenge

Winter (update) is coming edition.
Tibia is a top down MMORPG with all the usual trappings that has been running since 1997. The hermits of /tbg/ hibernate in two servers: the European located world of Secura where we have the guild Yotsubas and the North America located world of Fidera where we have the guild Sengoku. Choose the server you have the best connection to and post your name & world in here for a guild invite.

why haven't we combined all the autistic power around here in order to make some reimagined Tibiaesque game?
I bet there's money to be made from this dying niche
Name a more perfect game.
I'm not a very big Mario fan. Just not good at the game. I'll say Super Metroid because I'm good at it and it already has established acclaim like SMW.

Tekken 3
If there's actually a good one. Anyone played X?

SNES JRPG thread!
While I really enjoy old school western RPGs like Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Arcanum, what made me crazy was JRPGs, especially SNES ones.
Some of my hipster picks are:
Live a Live: Not really a hipster pick, but the game is just fucking awesome, a lot of different characters to play, each one with REALLY different gameplay (a full horror thriller with 0 fights, a ninja mission, Street Fighter, etc). In my opinion it's the best JRPG for SNES, even better than the great classics because how creative it is. Of course it has some flaws,...

Play Wizardry 1-3 to see what old school really means. SFC version if you want.

That screenshot is awesome.
Never seen an RPG use that perspective before, at least as good as that.
Live a Live was a really cool one. It might be a hipster pick honestly, it has some credit now but it's still a relatively obscure game I would say.
I just bought a GBA SP AGS-101 to play my original gray GB carts again in full backlit glory and I'd like to talk about GB games, consoles, accessories, whatever. GB, GBC are welcome. I used to have the original DMG model and a GB Color, but the backlight trumps all for me.
I wanna get an everdrive GB, any experiences?
Anyone into fan translations? Been meaning to crack into cave noire soon.
What are your favorite games? I loved Motocross Maniacs back in the day and just bought MM2 as well as Mole Mania.
>>2803336
I'm picking up a GB Everdrive soon, hopefully it's good.
>Favorite games
Noobow, such a cute little adventure kinda game, japan only; doesn't require japanese though.
F-1 Race, classic game, fun gameplay, plays like outrun but racing.
Metal Gear Solid, actually own a physical copy of this but damn this game is fucking really good.
>>2803346
I haven't yet played through Ghost Babel but the sneaking looks a lot more fun with that overhead angle than in 3D to me. Not a fan of sneaking mechanics in general though.
Here's another one I want to pick up one day:
>>2803373
Sneaking mechanics in it are actually hella good, and whats that game?
What are some good point and click games /vr/?
Maniac Mansion is just really great

Post things in old games that made you laugh.

I laughed out loud in a few parts of Super Mario RPG. Also Tekken cut scenes.

>a few parts of Super Mario RPG
which parts tho

Not the same guy, but as a kid, the part with Booster cracked me up. Especially when you could hide behind the curtains as he tried to find you.
Hey /vr/ I'm replaying Diddy Kong Racing and I'm getting so damn buttblasted over the Time Trial runs. Shit's practically impossible; in addition to nailing every zipper and curve with machine-like accuracy, T.T. just happens to be fast as hell. We go over the same zippers at the same time and he zooms way ahead of me. What gives? Any tips? Pic related is my main man but I'm willing to use whoever just to stick it to that cocky clock.
Also, general retro kart racer thread. Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing, what have you. These things were fucking everywhere.
>>2802685
change your character. overall Pipsy is the best character, especially for the car races. some of the flying races Drumstick is better to use. .
Let go of gas when you go over the zippers. You get a green flame that makes you go faster
I loved the time trials. Immensely satisfying to seeing the clock faggot lose.
So, why do people hate repo labels again? Is it a crime to want to restore my games to a pristine condition? Because everyone acts like it is.
Because some associate them with active scammers, or with non-scammers who unintentionally enable scammers (you put on the repro label, sell it to someone, they turn around and sell it as legit). Putting REPRO LABEL on the label helps with that.
I personally don't really see the point. I think aged labels have charm, and there's the fact that they are legit labels that have been on the cart since day one and not just repros. I don't care if others use them, though, so long as they aren't trying to trick people.
My wife lo... oh nevermind.
As the above anon said, I think it's more a matter of people trying to pass them off as legitmate/original labels than anything.
Alternatively, some people being more concerned with how a game looks than playing the game itself.
I've thought about getting a reprop label of one or two games, but I'd do a shell swap with a sports game or something so as to keep the original label too.
Great Square RPG, or Greatest Square RPG?
What did you think of this videogame, /vr/? Favorite chapter? Favorite final team? Did you cry manly tears during THAT chapter?
Live-A-Live is probably my favorite SNES JRPG (not counting action JRPGs like Terranigma), despite its myriad of flaws. It's so wonderfully unique and charming that I can look past its many shortcomings.
The kung fu chapter. I really liked the old guy beating the shit out of everyone, and the music when he uses the "move" and does his little philosophy is god tier. Was a bit pissed off with the resolution of it, though.
Also, we all know the last kid was the canon inheritor of the kung fu legacy, no matter how much we want the red haired girl to be the one.
Sundown/Cube/Lei/Oboro master race team reporting in.
Why was this never released in the US?
It's a mystery to everybody.
Don't remember any Human games being localized except for latter-day Fire Pro.

Super Soccer
Dance Aerobics
Kabuki Quantum Fighter
Monster Party
Clock Tower 1 and 2 (PSX)
Vanguard Bandits / Epica Stella
Pizza Delivery boy or Bomber Jacket?
Terry's cool. He looks like a trucker. No wonder in the later games he fights at a truck stop.
Red jacket for life.
>>2802326
He's probably one of my favorite Japanese "American" characters. Comes a lot closer to what I think American's would actually consider badass than many do.
I like his appearance in Garou better. That sweet fucking jacket.
I never had a playstation as a kid. Just one of my friends had one, and the only game we ever played was megaman legends. I bought one a few years ago thinking I'd start to get into the system but it never really happened. Where should I start? All you PSfags, what was your first game?
I never had a PS1 back in the day. I had a friend that lent me his with a handful of games and I fell in love with Vandal Hearts. It was the first SRPG I ever played.
some obvious core ps1 games
wipeout 3
crash bandicoot 2
rayman
tony hawk's pro skater 2
final fantasy 7
ape escape
gran turismo 2
resident evil 2
The first PSX game I ever played was Twisted Metal.
Other early games I played were Beyond the Beyond (not really recommended, but if you're wondering what the RPG scene was like in the really early days of the console), Tekken, and FF7.
What series have you binge played? Which ones do you recommend for this purpose?
>>2801865
mario
>>2801869
Spin-offs included or just the mainline platformers?
What's binge playing?
