Have any of you guys beaten this game? I did recently and i legitimately felt accomplished. Took me about 20 hours...
>>3361536
not even my dad could beat that game.
>>3361536
>Took me about 20 hours...
me too... just to find the way in the lair of the blind ones.
Are Rage Wars and Shadow of Oblivion worth my time?
How the hell do I get my hands on a Famicom and Famicom Disk System (with AC adapter preferably)?
Is eBay my only route? 99% of the consoles are from Japan so shipping is at least $50 every time.
Not much on my Craigslist unfortunately...
>>3361481
Well, you can go in Japan...
>>3361486
but.... my wallet
You can try Japanese Yahoo auctions, but you'd have to use a third party to buy it then ship it outside Japan which may end up costing a bit.
Whats the best way to experience pic related nowadays?
I have ps1,ps2 and ps3.
ps1 versions are the most expensive considering i can get the Japanese ps3 version with 3 games on it for the same price.
what should i do? should i just import the ps3 one?
Have you considered buying a CP System 2?
>>3361313
Groovymame + crt
PS1 versions definitely not, the port of Darkstalkers 1 wasn't even handled by Capcom and is severely choppy.
My favorite way to play Darkstalkers 3 is on Saturn, the game is arcade perfect as far as I can tell outside of some sound differences, and it includes the Hunter characters (donovan, pyron, huitzl).
I haven't tried the ps3 collection but I think that might be your best bet. Or try to get the PS2 version with the special Saturn controller, but I remember reading that one has some input lag issues, not sure if that's true.
Anyone ever get really burnout out on games, I guess tired gamer syndrome? A few years back I got so fed up with the garbage being put out by the modern industry and realized the only stuff I enjoyed was all the retro stuff from earlier gens. Far more creativity and fun to be had than just constant "cinematic experiences".
I'm curious though, has anyone had that same fatigued feeling with retro games? Every once in awhile I'd have trouble finding anything appealing to play, even old favorites were unappealing. I discovered though that no matter how many times I played through it, something about Wild Arms 1 and 2 always got me excited for playing games again. I see a lot of dislike or indifference to these games, but something about them washes away any gaming fatigue I'm feeling.
Anyway, anyone else experience this, what games do you find you can always go back to, no matter what kind of mood you might be in?
>A few years back I got so fed up with the garbage being put out by the modern industry and realized the only stuff I enjoyed was all the retro stuff from earlier gens.
I just became pessimistic, racist to an extent, and shut in when it comes to video games. I find the only way to enjoy modern games is to find fun in shitting on them and griefing the player base.
The best part is the modern video game devs only reinforce my opinion and beliefs of modern games as time goes by. If it's not some movie game like Uncharted being released it's some hugbox feature like the new Blizzard silence system. There's always something coming out or on the horizon for me to be anxious about how bad it's going to be. And it's always bad.
>>3361305
Racist over video games? And what is this 'silence' system? If enough people complain about you then you can't mic chat?
>>3361345
>Racist over video games?
Not so much racist as "xenophobic". Russians and south america have invaded a lot of online games.
>And what is this 'silence' system?
You get reported and then get a 24 ban from the chats in games. Every offense after doubles infinitely. Blizz says it goes to a review before dishing out the silence but I doubt it's true.
So people like me will just be reporting any retard just because Blizz has enabled me a new tool to troll with.

If 3DS had filter using camera to check light level so when it's lighter, less it's seen, the couldn't emulate GBC.
A thread died for you to repost this image
/vr/ i need advice, I love this game is there another shoot 'em up as good as this?
also thunder force thread.
I'm a fuckass so the only recommendations I have are Life Force, Recca, and Parodius.
>>3361038
No there isn't.
Thunderforce is literally perfection.
>>3361230
Seriously? damn, it is not like i wasn't expecting something like this, however is there any other game that you could advice?

Will we get a good SEGA Saturn emulator now?
Oh good to know, totally didn't have 5 threads about this before.

We already have one.
Why do Super Nintendo's turn yellow?
Is there a way to fix it?
My gf bought me one for my birthday and half of it was yellow.
>>3360595
direct quote from Nintendo: For the Super NES, this is a normal condition and no cause for alarm. Cleaning or handling the system will have minimal impact to change or revive the original color.
The Super NES, as well as our other systems, are made with a plastic containing flame-retardant chemicals to meet safety guidelines. Over time, the plastic will age and discolor both because of these chemicals as well as from the normal heat generated from the product or exposure to light. Because of the light color of the plastic of the SNES and NES, this discoloration is more easily seen than with other darker plastics such as on the N64 and the Nintendo GameCube.
>>3360595
Additives put in the plastic turn yellow over time, especially if exposed to sunlight. You can use stuff like RetroBright to fix it in the short term but I hear that it makes the plastic brittle.
>>3360615
So the parts around the console slot, and the controller ports aren't fire retardant and don't meet safety guidelines?
For shame Nintendo. For shame.
What's the best fighting game on 16-bit systems?
Ones that aren't arcade ports?
Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden 2
Gundam Wing Endless Duel
Yuu Yuu Hakusho Makyo Toitsusen
are my favorites
>>3360536
Arcades are 16-bit systems too, you know.
>>3360536
>Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden 2
Hyper Dimension is way, WAY better.
Also, Power Rangers Fighting Edition
Post 'em
What do you guys think about playing such PSX classics as Metal Gear Solid on the Dreamcast?
As impressive as it was, not enough buttons on the controller, wouldn't bang.
>>3360451
they used to sell adapters that allowed playstation controllers to be used on DC
>>3360580
They're just adapting the DC controller layout to a PSX controller, still doesn't give you an additional analogue stick or more buttons.
are you sick of hearing about those other ps1 horror games? are you looking for something old and different too?
post a horror games that you would recommend people try out, or at least gave you a spook
pic related
hellnight is pretty good but from what i hear its hit or miss with some people, the game is low on substance but it definitely has a unique art style and atmosphere that you wont find anywhere else. the closest game i can compare it to is echonight, where all you can really do is run, walk and interact with a few things
>>3360438
What a coincidence I was just playing this. I wonder is it possible to complete the game without the first girl that joins you dying? I find her ability to sense the monster pretty useful.
>>3360476
isnt the ending different depending on who's with you?
i'd imagine there must be a way to do it
>>3360438
galerians. the controls kind of suck and the english voice acting is shoddy but you have psychic powers and the plot is weird in a good way. it got a ps2 sequel that everyone fucking hates except me it's pretty good imo but both games are flawed.
Is this game any good?
>>3360381
I liked it, the art system for inputting moves is a neat concept, but once you clear each world section and get a book with a "hyper art" move in it, you start to just try and chain as many of those together as you can, since they are extremely powerful.
The story isn't bad either, and I only have some grinding complaints and how awkward it is to get new "spell summons".
Its fun. Plot is kind of mediocre and the magic system is really tedious, but the combo system is great and how equipment shows up on your charcters is neat.
It's a really ugly game. You have to literally imagine trees in your head. The core game is interesting. It's like Unlimited Saga's combat but done way better.
THE FIRST LEVEL.
THE FIRST FUCKING LEVEL.
I HAVE NEVER BEATEN THE FIRST LEVEL.
u can do it! :)
In the nights, dreams delight, I want to see you standing there
>>3360343
What? How? It's not that hard. Granted, I didn't get too far into the game, but the first level wasn't hard to beat.
>Nosferatu game on Snes
>Not starring Count Orlok
I get that they went with Nosferatu because they didn't (or couldnt) license the Dracula name from whomever holds the rights now.
But come on, Castlevania had milked the fuck out of Dracula. by by having Count Orlok as boss this game might have actually been spooky.
Thoughts?
May be, it's not like you see him a lot in the game, not at face value at least.
>>3360178
Dracula's public domain... and an actual person, come to think of it.
Nosferatu is just Romanian for vampire, it doesn't need to be about Orlok.
