So these guys were gay, right?

The rumors in-game are that Gerudo women capture men every so often to carry on their race. But the Gerudo captors, upon your beating them, say "these guys were of no use to us anyway"

Then they run like this

Does this one count as obvious? The game and its sequels often gets praised here. A good option if you like RPGs with a lot of exploration.

I genuinely liked Richter's English dub. Guy sounded like he was ready to whip some ass.
>>
I liked the voice acting, it reminds me of the voiceovers in legends of the hidden temple that had people speaking during olmec's explanations of the storyline of the episode and the artifact in question. Namely and especially Dracula's voice acting.

Unlike the Resident Evil dub, he actually worked here. his quieter moments with Maria and Alucard in their endings worked pretty well too.

Still, to this day I catch myself saying AWESOME; YOU ARE MIGHTY INDEED at stupid shit for no reason.

So I think we all generally agree current prices for retro games are shitty and over-inflated for various reasons.

So, someone was apparently able to drive the price of a cheap game pretty significantly by simply buying around 20 copies of the game on eBay and letting the site's suggested pricing take care of the rest. The video below has details.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKHk5U8tmfw

Suppose a large group of people do similarly with other cheap games. Suddenly the market is full of overvalued games that can't match their demand. Speculation would peak and resellers and investors would bail on the market and prices would drop.

Is this a plausible scenario?

No. Resellers will buy up every single reasonably priced copy of a demanded game - be it 20 or 200 of them. You cannot stop it.

Yes, but you give people too much credit. As long as there is someone willing to pay for a cart of some old game the market will be sustained.

There's always going to be someone who doesn't know any better and that's who resellers bank their success on. Stop paying outrageous prices and jews will go away.

Neither of your conclusions make sense and you're giving the resellers too much credit. I guess you're content with the way things are, or resellers.

I've been wondering is there a reason this boss battle was so graphically sparse?

I mean this is the climactic fight of the game and the setting seems to be nothing more than a very simplistically represented castle and an entirely black background
it seems like its in stark contrast compared to the rest of the game which has very colorful and well detailed visuals

Mode 7 can only work with backgrounds, so Bowser is a background character in that battle. The fight runs smoothly enough, but having more background textures would have slowed everything down on the SNES, so they probably made it black to avoid that.
>>
>>3347069
>>3347080

you mean its really just because of when bowser flies towards the castle from off in the distance?

it seems like there are plenty of games that use mode 7 while at the same time having more complex graphics on the screen but maybe its just because those games were released later

Last one was nearly capped.

Is it possible for you to have conscious thought?

If you want to make a fighting game thread just make a fighting game thread, no need to open with some /v/ tier rhetoric question.

Not rethoric, I'm terrible at fighting games but I still enjoy playing them. I don't wanna start a fighting game general, they will only kick me out and bitch about playing the CPU.

What did each major video game console company (Sony, Nintendo, Sega, etc.) bring to the table that the others did not? It seems like nowadays Nintendo has the best first-party titles, PlayStation has the best third-party support and the Xbox is the best all-in-one media center in addition to playing games.

How was this in retro times?

Pic unrelated

Nintendo brought to the table being for babies and manchildren who run away when they see blood because they are immature babyfags and can't handle a deep, dark, serious game like I can. Sega and Sony had games that reflected the inner darkness and scarring of my soul from having two Christmases since my parents were divorced, while Nintendo did kiddy shit because nintentoddlers are fucking babies who never had to rough it in high school like real people, like me, who had to deal with bullies and preppy douchebags since they didn't understand my real power...

What I liked about the old days was the fact that multiplatform games were usually different on every console. The "same" game could yield an entirely different experience depending on which platform you were playing on. Nowadays, there's no real difference between versions.

Hey /vr/. I'm looking for games in the style of Ultima Underworld 1 and 2, Elder Scrolls (Arena and Daggerfall), and Lands of Lore 2.

By that I mean first-person action RPGs with smooth free movement (not step- or tile-based with 90-degree turns). Preferably for MS-DOS.

Any suggestions?

What would you say is the #1 advantage retro games have over modern games?

For me personally, it's the lack of online capabilities. There are so many games nowadays that have most, if not all of the gameplay focused online, and that feels very temporary to me. Online servers are always going to go down eventually, whereas retro games are permanent and will be just as playable in the current decade as they were in the '80s and '90s. In a few years certain online focused games are going to be literally unplayable.

Well, I barely play modern games because I decided to focus on older consoles... So, I think, the greatest advantage for me is I can play retro games everywhere on every modern piece of hardware.
