I want to try XCOM: Apocalypse or Terror From The Deep but my only experience with the series is Enemy Within and XCOM 2. The dated look of it / style makes it look daunting. How does it play differently from the current firaxis xcom games? Is it [spoilers] fun? [/spoilers]

Hi all, I'm playing UmJammer Lammy right now through POPS on my PSP. It mostly runs fine, except for the point I've gotten to. The problem is, whenever I get to around Stage 6 (pop idol level), the game freezes whenever I get partway through.
I have POPSloader and I have tried doing this level on each version of 6.xx, and I'm playing the US version of the game.
What should I do to get level 6 working properly? Has anyone else emulated this on a psp and had a specific version of POPS that worked for them? Thanks.

I had the same problem, ended up buying it on the Vita and it worked fine. The guy who made the eboot that got uploaded everywhere probably used a corrupted ISO.

What retro game has the best wizard or spellcasting mechanics?
Wizardry and it's clones - the spells have utility besides damage dealing.
I liked Dungeon Master's spell system because it involves the player in the learning/memorization of the spells much like the characters and works really well with the pressure aspect of real-time combat.

Thought's on Westone's Wonder Boy series versus Hudson's Adventure Island? The first games are almost exactly the same with a few changes here and there, but Wonder Boy went in a completely different direction with Zelda 2 style RPG platforming where as Hudson mostly kept Adventure Island the same throughout
Monster Land series is best. Adventure Island series can't compare
What's the best way to play the Wonder Boy series? Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 29: Monster World Complete Collection for the PS2 sounds swell.

How do I get good at this game? I can beat most versions of Tetris no problem but for some reason this game doesn't click for me, any tips?

It's very different than Tetris. You have to plan ahead and build combos with what you're given. I don't know how to put that into words other than keep playing, or maybe do some puzzle modes to get you used to seeing what kinds of patterns will set up combos.

Pretty much what this anon said, you need to think ahead. Also it's based on color chains so you need to stop thinking in terms of shapes and start thinking more in terms of colors. Maybe try playing other color-based puzzle games as well like Dr. Mario to train you brain to think along those lines.

There's a precious little 13" Toshiba CRT at the Goodwill warehouse right now with component and Svideo inputs an large side speakers for just $3 that I want to give a home to but my wife is starting to get irritated with me. Really kiked digimo world 2003, loved patamon and hated the first digimon world. Later on I played the wonderswan digimon game and thought it was really neat (basically emulates the virtual pet and had a tournament system like monster rancher).
I think the show was okay but the animation on season 1 was terrible.
