Virtual reality is starting to pick up nowadays, but the first attempts where made back in the 90's, so let's talk about that.

Forte VFX1 was about as good as 1990s consumer VR ever got. 320*200 per eye, 60(?) degree fov, 256 colors. Duke Nukem 3D, Rise of the Triad, Descent and Quake all have native support for it. Doom did not, surprisingly. Something about how it's rendered was fundamentally not compatible with stereoscopy.

Head tracking was surprisingly ok mostly because it used a compass for absolute rotational positioning relative to the Earth's magnetic field, a trick also used today by smartphone games

NES game translators made decisions retardedly at every opportunity. Play famicom versions instead, they're almost always the better game, save for pic related.

Just picked it back up after not touching it for a good few years. I got my shit pushed in a few times by the bridge thugs at the beginning of the game the last time I played, so this should be an eventful run.

One of my favorite games. Great soundtrack and gameplay. Unique atmosphere with steampunk done right.
>>
It's one of those games where I love the attention to detail. I'm a dim-witted though kindly ogre with no clothes on, and the NPCs notice all of these things! Granted they're mostly yelling at me or trying to take advantage of me, but it's all good.

Sup /vr/

I'm looking for one or two good RPGs on the SNES/Super Famicom to play over the holidays. I've already played through the Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger and Earthbound and liked all of them (well, FFIV not so much, but the others). I generally prefer turn-based RPGs to action RPGs. Also I don't speak moon so it needs to have a good translation.

I know that I can find plenty of SNES RPGs using google, and I know about games like Metal Max, Romancing Sa-Ga, Dark Half, Tales of Phantasia etc. but there are so many of them and there seem to be lots of mixed opinions out there so I don't know which one to play, so let's hear your opinions on good SNES RPGs. Which ones are the best? Which ones should be avoided?

You should give Live a Live a go, it's short but sweet. It is one of the most universally adored SNES RPGs
>>
>>3085014
I'd recommend Breath of Fire II, and Super Mario RPG. And I know you said you're not into action RPGs, but I would also look into the Soul Blazer series (Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma).
>>
Lufia 2, is a pretty fun RPG.

is that really how fantasy zone ends? we never beat it growing up on the master system

Yup.... last level is just each of the previous bosses and then a big Opa... I mean the game is still great and the last real level rocks, I just wish it hadn't let me believe there was more to come.

The last level of bloodlines starts out great, but then it just stops and fuck you death is a boss rush in this game

What's the best and easiest to use cheat methods for PSX games? I never used them back in the day, but there are a ton of playstation games I want to run through with god mode and whatnot.

Gameshark or something like that? Something that works with ePSXe.

Sorry to bother everyone here. I checked the catalog and couldn't find a topic specific to NES emulators. I came here before and got a lot of help on SNES emulators so I thought I would ask again for help. I have been looking through the various nes emulators available but I'm not sure which one is the best. I kind of remember JNES but I don't remember it being anything special or that high of quality. I read that FCEUX was good but I've also heard about RetroArch and Nestopia. I'm just not sure which one is the best one to use. I've heard some have really bad lag for input control and others have really bad pixelation problems. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'll ask here instead of making a new thread:

Where do you guys get your roms?

The rom depot that the guy had seems like it's just down. I should've downloaded the romsets before it went down.

I think they'll all have lag since they weren't meant to be played on flat screen monitors

How do I make Commodore 64 Music?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Buy a sammich sid (Google it) and a sound card with a MIDI output. Most authentic way to make the music without a commodore. Even uses the original chips.
>>
Use a tracker like SID-Wizard or Goattracker. Most modern compositions are made like this.

NAOMI
>>
It was a rushed port of a game that was already 3 years old and as such was competing with Soul Fucking Calibur and DOA2.
>>
They should've made Fighters Megamix 2 using VF3 engine instead.
