This game is too short. This is the problem with Super Metroid as well, as soon as you get the most powerful weapons, the game ends.

Also the battles are slow. The SNES was capable of more, there could be a tiny bit more strategy in enemies besides just looking at the same techs over and over. I shouldn't be dreading fighting, I should relish fighting.

CT wasn't too short. The flaw CT had was it was too easy, I didn't upgrade my weapons or armor much, just had to get my techs up and each boss was no sweat.

Hey /vr/, I just picked this thing up for Chrimus and it's capable of emulating anything from the Dreamcast backwards with only minimal slow down for the later gens.

Some of my favorites include any Mario RPG game, DK64 (though that doesn't emulate properly), Wario Land series (especially 4), Tetris Attack, and Troddlers.
But then again I'm open for trying new stuff, which is why I made the thread to begin with.

Shepard easily. Who gives a fuck about the dumb story OpFor delivered the best action and didnt have too much bullshit. Also best weapon variety

I'll admit, the one expansion that just had me wondering why the story was going on was OpFor. Suddenly Race X so Shephard had a boss was kinda dull. But at least he got a boss, unlike Calhoun, Cross, and Green.

Also it's Hideki Kamiya's favorite western-developed game.
I like it. I played a bunch of dojin and porn dojin parodies back in the day that were better than the original. I think one of them feature tifa and the sequel morrigan or some shit. But alas NOT RETRO.

Frog is amazing, but all are epic to use. Just happen to think frogs are badass. I usually use Marle, Chrono and Frog but occasionally switch Marle with robo or Lucca just because I love them. Haven't used cat girl aayla as much but also haven't beaten it yet. Absolutely love it in all honesty. Definitely worth the classic status it recieved.
You're in for basically everything good about an SNES RPG being represented in some way.

The only answer is: just don't buy games with violence if that bothers you.
So, playing these things on a Windows 7 machine seems nothing short of a nightmare. Dos games can be made playable with Dosbox, but when it comes to games that were specifically made for Windows, am I shit ton out of luck on making them run on a Windows 7 modern machine?
Good christ, all I can do at this point is pray there's a GOG version because I cannot into computers.
I just want to play some fucking Shivers and this goddamn machine updated its own damn self to Windows 10 a few months ago - which is a better system for everything except the games.

first of all, i think the sonic games suck ass on GG. shinobi 1 and 2 are obviously 2 of the best games. the mickey mouse games are just as good though.

Is there a way to accurately tell if a game you bought is a reproduction?
Obviously people are able to put romhacks and translations on a cart and sell them on ebay for $80 and of course that's a dead giveaway to anyone even remotely familiar with those games, but what about other games?
How do you tell if someone just popped the chips out of a copy of Lester the Unlikely and rewrote the chips and printed off a new label and called it Hagane?

What screen do you guys play your old games on? CRT? 4:3 LCD? 16:9 LCD? For you LCD users, what upscaler are you using?
I felt the need to hook up my Saturn so I picked up a cheap Chinese "Panlong" upscaler. My monitor wants to stretch 1024x768 to 16:9 for some reason, so I'm looking for a used 4:3 LCD screen like an old model Dell Ultrasharp.
I'm not looking for perfection; I'm not going to spend the money on a Framemeister. Just want it to be decent. I'm curious what you guys use for your setups.

I use a 42" RCA 1080p 60hz with a Framemeister. This TV is amazing when using a Framemeister. The 240p test suite records only 0.04 frames of lag!
I kept my old CRT TV that I got in '99.
CRT is by far the cheapest option
