I've become a junker...
so you went into the most dangerous line of law enforcement like, two hours after we came out of the coma?

They tried to have a normal life for months after waking up, but since it didn't work out Gillian went looking for answers.
Why was the dubbing so good?

Konami seems to be one of the first to do a serious attempt at English voice acting. A lot of it before was done for the cheapest possible, hense the silliness. Metal Gear Solid is another good early voice acting example.

It was pretty good for its time, but I personally thought Gillian's English voice doesn't suit the character. He sounds a bit too goofy for me.

>Died at the age of 55
why didn't he just retire already? He was an old man already.

One of my all time favorites, had it on cassette before youtube and now so happy its there for me to enjoy over a good drink.
Would love to play it again.
>>2815195
Do you still have the cassette recording?
Oh man... i dont know, i have a couple of storage boxes from that time, i could quite possibly have it around haha, not able to search for it at the moment, but i remember i had one of those old sound systems hooked up to the av out ports of my tv, it was one of the first tvs with those kinds of ports i ever saw and we got it as a prize, was great to play games on it so i just put a cassette and hit record by the end of the game hehe.

Falcom made a really good attempt before that with Ys 1 and 2, honestly. They hired known voice actors and everything.
>>2815175
Probably out of a sense of duty. I got the feeling that despite the Snatchers being such an insidious threat, they were elusive and sparse enough to not justify the government funding a larger-staffed Junker force. That, plus the fact that pretty much every Junker died in the field, and I think JJ figured it was better if he just kept up the fight for as long as he could.

Capcom hired some of the Saban actors to dub the voices of some of the Marvel characters like Cahal Dodd as Wolverine and The original V.A of Juggernaunt, Gambit, and Rouge.

What about Ys 1&2?
>>2815165
It works out really well because Gillian just so happens to be a goofball. A built, handsome, dangerous goof but a goof nonetheless.
>>2815165
The Japanese voice sounds kinda goofy too, IMO.
>>2818587
Yeah I really think it's what makes him likable.
Japanese version is just a typical anime voice.
The last shooting segment with the spiders was near impossible. Took me 50 tries.

Imagine my frustration as a wee, Sega CD-owning lad: i get through all that and to the ending on my first try and with no difficulty, but my brother was out of the house somewhere. I didn't think to video tape it at the time.
When he finally got home from wherever, I tried to show him the ending, remembering house super easy the jumping spider bots were earlier that morning. The spiders, however, has a different plan. The little cunts just kept fucking my shit up.
