Playing pic related for the first time and realizing it is ridiculously underrated. The status conditions are comical and the design for pretty much everything is amazing. How does /vr/ feel about it?

No Virtual Boy thread? Aww come on guys. Did anyone actually have one of these things when it came out? I didn't purchase one until ~2010 when I learned of it. I think this console (portable?) makes a great shelf piece, as many people don't know what it is. Especially when they hear that it was from Nintendo! I just ordered a screwdriver so I can take mine apart and fix the glitchy display. Just bought a new game for it as well, galactic pinball. I've played it before but had to sell most of my stuff when I was short on money.
So, what are the best VB games?
Teleroboxer has the best virtual feel to it in my opinion. But looking past just "how good at a virtual feel it is", what games are good?
I've been in the VB scene since 08 and I tried for years to fix my displays using the oven trick, but it never worked fully. So about a year ago I had RunnerPack do a permanent fix on my VB's displays, they've been working perfectly ever since.
I strongly recommend everyone do the same. He only charged $20, and it really is permanent.

It's slightly complicated, but there are a few pages dedicated to showing you how to do it.
That said, when I sent my displays in he told me that "baked" displays tend to be more difficult to fix. You're better off not trying the oven trick and just getting them soldered ASAP. (You can solder them yourself too, there are guides for it, but only attempt if you know what you're doing. Working VBs aren't exactly going down in value.)

The whole point of playing a game though is for a challenge/pretending you're the character.

Because it's not exactly obvious where every single one of them is unless you use a walkthrough and if you progress through the game without doing so they kill them.
Is there any way to remove the red green and blue lines on top of my Sony PVM-14M2U? I have the Under Scan button selected so I can see my entire screen.

That may just be some extra graphical junk on the outside of the borders that's being displayed by the game console.
Are you playing a genesis game? the genesis is known for this.
Try a different system and see if it's still there.

Service menu = Degauss + enter
VBlank increase until lines are gone. I think Enter to save setting or Reset to go back. Keep note of what settings you have.

When I'm hungover I love to play retro games to kill some time until I can sleep again. I had the best experience with ActRaiser, nearly completed it in one sitting on a Sunday. I loved its mixture of some action parts, not too easy, not too hard, but very entertaining and especially its city building episodes wich I sank a lot of time into. It felt so nice and peaceful to see these little cities grow. Can anyone recommend some more games that are similar? Not necessarily the mixture of action and city building, but the mixture of some feeling of action but also peacefulness...
