Hey, so I bought a copy of Castlevania off eBay and I received it yesterday. I began playing the game and the gameplay was a bit off- it was impossible to climb stairs! However, I could still throw items using up+b. I opened up the cart and upon inspecting the pcb, I saw that none of the chips had the Konami logo on them... another eBay listing for Castlevania showed the chips and they said Konami on them, and the pcb looked very different than mine. I don't have pics, sorry. Can someone confirm that it is fake, maybe showing a picture of what the chip should look like?...

No pics, really? Do you actually want to know if it's fake?
Wait, lemme guess, the cartridge is haunted isn't it?
Bin it, game is garbage anyway
So... i got some really crappy games so i could replace the shells on some of my games, pic related is what tyey look like after leaving them all night on a solution of windex and laundry soap.
Clean them with a brush and thats the best i could get.
Does peroxide rreally work on those stains?
Yes.
Did this really require a thread?
Also try oxy-clean or a combination of the two.

peroxyde diluded in water or just peroxyde? i only have a 450ml bootle at home.
>>3328870
The problem with peroxide as a mild bleach is how thin it is and that it needs to be acted on by air and uv (sun) light to really do the job. You could brush the peroxide on it over and over but professional lighteners (RetroBrite, blonde hair "dye") thicken it into a paste. There are recipes online.
Are Psone rpgs too easy ?
Which one is the hardest ?
>>3328812
Is there such a thing as a hard rpg? It's more a question of how much grinding is required. Xenogears and Dragoon threw in those QTE type thingies but they're always either relatively easy like those two or end up being pointless like the ones in Vagrant Story.
RPGs and especially JRPGs appeal to gamers with little skill and that's a fact that sort of came to light naturally there in the late 90s but there's no need to be ashamed of it now there are almost no single player games that require skill.
>>3328812
Most are easy, yes. The Saga Frontier games can be pretty tough as grinding won't save your ass. I've heard people complain about Hoshigami's difficulty too, though I haven't played it.
And finally Star Ocean 2 has multiple difficulty levels to unlock and the harder one is a real bitch.

>>3328603
Ken's an American in the game, bruh.
Also I believe white blonde guys is a general Japanese stereotype of Americans.

>tfw that stereotype isn't accurate anymore
ITT: Objectively terrible games that you like, and the reason you like them regardless.
I actually really like Sonic R, in spite of the terrible controls, the graphics are very nice for their time and have a very vibrant colour pallete, and the soundtrack is upbeat and very catchy. I also like the multiple paths through each stage, as well as unlocking new characters and collecting the chaos emeralds. I would never say this game is good, but I have a lot of nostalgia for it and I think the good parts of the game make it worth playing.

also it's the only sonic racing game that actually makes sense, (almost) everybody running instead of using vehicles

Hey guys, im trying to play my super nintendo on my hd tv using rgb. I've looked around and it seems that the best way (other than the framemaster) is to get a scart cable and a scart to component adapter to get the best quality out of it. Although I don't know if this is the best solution to do so since most of the scart cables im finding are finicky at best. What do you guys think? Also if I do this solution how do I get the audio out of it since it's only outputting rgb through the adapter.
>scart
>quality
>chink clone of a meh at best transcoder
>quality
The best solution is Higan.
>>3328160
get an upscaler, doesnt have to be a framememster just just something cheaper with a frame or 2 of lag
240p@ a modern HDTV is not a good solution, RGB or not

ITT: /vr/ games you've played and have never seen discussed here.
>>3328010
This game, ive always wanted to talk about it, i only saw the show a couple of times and it was really cool, very similar in tone with the MiB cartoon, but the game is a really underated survival horror, yes the gameplay is really clunky but its really atmospheric mostly because of the limitations that the game uses to his advantage, there is a lack of music, and aliens lurking in dark places, i can't really explain, but if you guys want to play something new and horror related on the ps1, check it out, sadly...

Dude, i freaking loved Project Overkill for what it was. Hard as hell, tight isometric shooting, and i loved the whole "your characters stay dead" twist.
Severely hidden gem, imo.
hey /vr/
whatre your favorite turbo grafix games? i love the snes and didnt really care for much on the genesis besides streets of rage

Anyone else feel that Unreal Tournament completely overshadows Unreal in terms of popularity and discussion these days? Tournament is great but it's kinda sad to see Unreal rarely get the recognition it used to get a decade and a half ago anymore.
It gets discussed here ocassionaly. I love it. Beautiful design work, great soundtrack by Jeremy Soule, fun levels to explore, this game had it all.
>>3327829
>Jeremy Soule
Uh, what? It was by Alexander Brandon and co. You know, the guys who did Deus Ex...
Unreal feels so unrefined compared to Unreal Tournament. As if they had a good engine, but didn't know what to do with it.
Name a better retro tactics game.You can't.
That was easy.

Difference between diablo Playstation and diablo pc
Diablo on PC is actually playable.
>>3327648
Diablo on the PS1 is quite playable. Having local co-op is a nice feature. But don't plan on using a memory card for anything else other than Diablo saves since they take up a ton of space.
>>3327648
Worse resolution on PS.
Main style difference is the lighting. PS version is very colorful. So if that floats your boat... have at it hoss.
I prefer the dreary look of the PC version.
What are some great ps1 hidden gems
Racing Lagoon. Pretty good street racing RPG.
