How was this game received back when it came out? Was it beloved like the snes ones?
It was really good
Most people were disappointed with it and for good reason - donkey kong just doesn't translate well into a 3D environment in the same vein as mario. I think most people felt that it tried to emulate mario 64's success but felt short. Not a bad game by any means, but not a great one either.
Not as beloved as the SNES ones (at least 1 and 2), but had good reception.
Why?

I've never actually played "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" before. You guys rave about it on here, so I finally decided to play it.
The thing is, I'm playing the Game Boy Advance port. That's okay, isn't it? There aren't any major differences between the two versions...I don't think.

It's fine. SNESfags will say the graphics and sound are worse, but the fact that you can play it on the makes up for that. Plus Four Swords is a nice bonus provided you have people to play with.

Doom3 lets you play Doom and Doom2 after you finish the single player campaign and Metal Gear Solid 3: Substance lets you play original Metal Gear after finishing the game on any difficulty. I'm drunk so maybe I'm wrong about some details.

I don't think it was this issue or the silver MMX1 100th issue (if memory serves me right) or some other issue but there was a blurb about Famicom games that included Mother 1 (Yes I know about the "Nintendo Goes Earthbound" feature years ago).

So this released. Does anyone who owns it know if the Master System Version of Fantasy Zone is included or not? I am getting mixed messages with no reviewer mentioning it, but Sega's blog mentioning it in their most recently translated interview, without mention of it not being included.

I actually enjoy this podcast. It's done by two people who know what they're talking about, more often than not, and some of the banter and stories from the atari/nintendo age forums is new to me because I don't go on that site... Though I may check it out someday.
