I've only tried the first Guncon and the official Dreamcast gun. Either the Guncon is top tier or Sega didn't know how to make a good lightgun for shit.

Can't really give you an in depth reason why these ones. Seems like the developers really perfected things with these two. I don't know.

I had 2 and played it from release until the 00's
Great game, loved every bit of it, Campaign mode where every battle actually counts in the bigger picture was amazing to me at the time, real tension but also great fun.
I read good things about the sequel set in Russia but the really recent ones look like pure shit.

I've played most of them. They're great games. The new ones certainly don't look like shit to me. Only downside is that through every game the AI is notoriously retarded. But I'm playing a CC5 campaign against my friend and it is awesome. MG42s are wrecking my shit daily.
Why do people keep abbreviating the Nintendo 64 name as "N64"? I remember magazines in the 90s said NU64.
