The Playstation Armored Cores at the only ones that let you play in first person mode without needing to beat the game first. Whoever came up with that stipulation for the PS2 games and on need to fucking kill themselves.

are there any major differences between the two models in terms of the way games play?
If you use RGB you'll get a slightly sharper picture from the mini if you mod it. Otherwise the mini has a few minor graphical errors in like 5 or 6 games.

It's a Japanese console. For some reason the modchip doesn't grant region free for Japanese PS1s.
Does anybody still play these games? I recently downloaded TR4 The Last Revelation, i forgot how challenging and fun these games are. They just don't make games like this anymore, it's practically impossible without a walkthrough. The controls are clunky and the graphics don't hold up but that's all part of the challenge.
I remember watching my dad play TR1 when i was young, and would get scared shitless at the atmosphere and enemies, especially those men with pet tigers.
This is the coolest level in TR4 so far, you drop down from the ceiling infront of a senet board which you get to play later on.
This shit is so immersive.

Is there a website/app I can use to keep track of my collection? I travel a lot for work and often end up picking up stuff on ebay/used game stores. I've finally gotten to the point where I am accidentally buying duplicates because I don't have a reliable means to track them besides an excel sheet on my phone that is getting ridiculously long.

Best way to go about fixing up old 64 controllers?
I'd love to have mine back in solid, working order for nostalgic nights for friends, but only one of them is really fair to use, and the others have the extremely loose sticks / buttons.
Loose buttons? Is that even a thing?

Sticks are easy to replace. You can order a new one from Hong Kong for $5. Just pop open the controller and plug in the new stick
