what is the best saturn controller? based off colors, overall gameplay, and feel
That one, the see through Japanese one has the best look IMO. 3d controller a close second
Best? Your favorite arcade stick modded for Saturn compatibility. I use Sega VSHG with PS360+
JP Model 1/Model 2 controllers.
>colors
I prefer Saturn itself in original gray color, but Model 2 controller with colorful buttons looks slightly better.
Honorable mention to 3D gamepad
>tfw no 3D controller in Model 1 colors
I have no experience with Western Saturn accessories, but is US Model 1 gamepad really that bad? Why did they change it?
>>3335278
I have zero experience with Sega branded Saturn controllers, but from what I've read the grey ones use the best quality plastics. The white ones are the weakest. The black ones exist in a number of revisions, the earliest ones being the weakest. The darker the circuit board, the better the quality.
I found a Saturn clone pad for PC/gameport and wanted to transfer the circuitboard into a real Sega branded pad, but after seeing how many revisions there are, I decided to get a different pad altogether.
>Japanese devs
"We will only port the game if it makes sense, and we will port it to the best of our abilities."
>American devs
"POOOOOORTS. PORT IT TO EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. PORT IT TO THE AMIGA, C64, SNES, GENESIS, NES, GAMEBOY, ATARI LYNX, JAGUAR, DOS, etc"
Why was this the mentality of the 90's?
$$$$
A lot of the ports could have been done so much better if only they cared a little bit more.
Instead we got shit like Castlevania on Amiga that has weird visual glitches and input lag so you can't even jump and whip properly.
It's like some shit was coded by a 13 year old who was using that project to teach himself 68000 asm.
Even the DOS EGA port turned out more smooth and playable, that's how retarded this shit was.

ITT: remakes of retro games that surpassed the original version.
Persona 2. Seriously.
The gold standard of remakes.
>>3334509
What is the King of All Cosmos doing in a Castlevania game?
When will the retro game market finally crash?
When VR is the only shit people care about anymore.
Give it 10-20 years when it's ultra realistic and has some killer apps
>>3333919
I doubt that the market will crash. It will just stabilize itself once the hipster trend and nostalgia fags die out.
probably around the time the classic car market does.
who /tekken 3/ here?
>tfw overwhelmed by how high the skill cap is when I study jin
>tfw main bryan and he is fucking shit
>tfw anna is just too hot in that dress
>tfw I try emulating ps2 tekkens and fail so I'm stuck mach breaking in tekken 3 forever
I kinda liked Bryan back then because he's edgy. His moveset was pretty shitty though.
Used to spend hundreds of hours fighting in endless practice matches with Hwoarang, I really liked playing him. Yoshimitsu was a blast to play, too.
Eddy was really fun for fooling around and making flashy moves.
And all the hours watching the cool cinematics.
>>3333508
he has some cool moves but he suffers from having almost no low attacks and no low hits on his strings
the fisherman's hook to slam will just never get old, every time I do it it feels great
I also like the way a lot of his kicks juggle the enemy, even if it isn't too practical, like d/f 3, d/f 4 or u/f 4
>>3333228
Well, I guess I can never again trust my memory.
Owned Tekken 3 as a kid. Played it quite a bit, not huge amounts, but what should be enough.
No recollection of Bryan Fury.
Years later and recently, when I found out that friends mains Bryan in TTT2, I honestly thought that he was a newer post T3 character.
>The first Sonic The Hedgehog is the best one in the series
>RPG fucking sucks (includes Deus Ex, System Shock, Final Fantasy, Mario RPG, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Chron Trigger, the whole fucking thing excluding Soulsborne)

I played the DS port and thought it was pretty solid for a Nintendo platformer.
What didn't you like about it anon?

>>Castlevania IV sucks
>>Super Mario World 2 sucks
>>A Link to the Past is mediocre and OoT is a much better game
>>Link's Awakening is the best Zelda
anon none of these are unpopular opinions
Are KiSS dolls /vr/?
I don't see why not. They're retro and a game, albeit a pretty limited one. Seems pretty interesting too.
I don't see how.
I could never get into this because it seemed like the only fucking site that had resources for it was a pay site, and I was underage and cardless. Wouldn't have paid even if I had one, didn't see much appeal from the few ones I found for free. As dressup dolls they were a cute novelty that got boring fast, as fapping tools, you were better off searching for actual hentai.
How come the arcade versions of Contra and Ninja Gaiden suck in comparison to the NES games?
I thought arcades meant more power=good game
>>3343906
Famicom Contra >>> NES Contra
You can't prove me wrong.
>>3343906
If that were the case modern games wouldn't mostly be shit
Same as the Shinobi home conversions.
Post ur favorite capeshit
could you define "capeshit" for me?

Does anyone have a map of Balamb Garden?
Re-watching th ending had me notice that the ballroom is on the left side, yet when you're inside of it, all that's there is Quistis's classroom and the balcony.
So does anyone have a complete map of the garden's layout?
Also Rinoa is fat
>>3342849
It is heavily implied that the BGU is much bigger than what we get to see as a player. For instance, we only see 2 rooms of the dormitory, or one classroom.
>>3342874
Yeah I know. And even though we only see a small area the long shots imply Timber has thousands living in it
I was just curious if anyone ever developed a full schematic of the Garden
So I just bought wizardry 6, 7, and 8 and am currently installing 8 what am I in for?
You might want to use these:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/wizardry-6-automap-mod
http://www.moddb.com/mods/wizardry-7-automap-mod
You're in for the ultimate in fantasy games.
Are you going to skip 1-5 because they aren't sold anywhere?
I'd recommend the SFC port of Wizardry 6 over the IBM version.
>>3342679
>I'd recommend the SFC port of Wizardry 6 over the IBM version.
>shitty animu graphics
>can't import your party into Wiz 7/8.
>unfinished and buggy translation
Why?
whats the better game, DKC 2, or 3? Looking to play one on my n3ds on a long plane ride coming up and cant decide what one to get.
2.
Contrarian hipsters say it's 3 but it's really DKC or 2.
2.
3 is good though.
>>3342125
Definitely 2.
Btw, have you played the first one yet?
Why is this game so unpredictable?
I've been killed by doors a million times, the characters clamber around and act weird when they get close, enemies sometimes wander around/away, and the auto aim is weird sometimes.
Is the collision detection, or whatever, really bad in this game, or something?
I also went back to play the original versions of Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior, and I tried to kill myself with doors and mess around with the enemies, but everything worked just fine, leading me to believe these problems are only present in Blood for some reason.
This is a good game, but I dislike the above aspects because it makes it feel unpolished. Are there mods or something to fix this? I realize that this game famously doesn't have a real source port, but I was wondering if there are any fixes.
>>3341865
Just always crouch.
Not joking
The killer doors are a feature of Build engine games.
Dunno OP but I feel like every time I play this game enemies just get stuck on things and stand there doing nothing. Build Engine games have never really been known for their stellar AI anyway.
Is playing this alone still fun enough?
Cause playing stuff like Golden Axe without a partner is a total snore..
>>3341671
>Is playing this alone still fun enough?
yes. Yes it is.
>>3341671
i would play with u if we were together
>>3341671
It is pretty good, also has multitap support for versus though, kind of cool.
