I have scored more than 20,000 points in Pitfall. I would like my Pitfall Harry's Explorers Club patch.

Also Pitfall thread. Talk about the Pitfall games.

Example: Pitfall!, Pitfall 2: The Lost Caverns, Super Pitfall, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, etc.

>Super Pitfall
Fuck that fucking bullshit ass game, fuck the devs, fuck whoever playtested it and said it was OK, fuck the publisher, fuck everyone involved in the fucking ear.

Seriously, I rarely see a game full of such bullshit and dick moves. Read the fucking manual and you can see the bullshit without even playing. Here's a few gems:
"(talking about the keys and other items you NEED to beat the game)Since they are invisible, Harry should jump often while exploring the cave."
"At various places in the caverns, Harry can instantly transport himself from one cave to another by jumping in a particular(but unmarked) spot."
The entire game involves running around a cave full of enemies(all of which one-hit you), trying to find where the fuck the hidden items/teleporters are by jumping fucking everywhere. It's the only game I've ever beaten that I have no desire to ever touch again.

FUCK Super Pitfall.

What's your favorite arcade game? From your childhood? Now?

Thunder Blade has always been my favorite.

Blew my god damn mind that there was a TMNT game that LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THE CARTOON WITH ALL THE SAME CHARACTERS. It was such a triumphant moment when I first saw this game, like some sort of vindication after playing the first NES game.

>Now
SadlyI haven't really played a 'new' arcade game since DDR machines in the early 2000's.
>>
I remember really enjoying Hang-on and stun runner in the arcades.

At home I really liked Virtual-On on my Saturn.

The last one I recently really got into was was Galaxy Force 2, which is an amazing game once you can 1CC it, and Strider.
>>
>childhood
I didn't play in arcades enough to be able to pick a favorite, but I always spend 90% of my money on light gun games.

Do you have any links to rare, retro interviews with game devs/artists/composers? Post em here. I found this interview saved deep within my bookmarks folders and it influenced me to make this thread. This is an interview with the composer of NiGHTS.

http://www.originalsoundversion.com/a-blast-from-the-past-tomoko-sasaki-and-naofumi-hataya-nights-interview/#more-6759

I will search around in my bookmarks and see if I find anything else interesting.

What's your opinion on Pac-Man?

I like it. How do I get good at it?
>>
Love this post! And I love pac-man! Pac-man is especially good if you play it with the right hardware. I haven't tried Pac-Man on the PS1 with a joystick, but I figure that would be a good experience. Oddly enough, I enjoyed Pac-Man the most when I downloaded it on my iPod Video from the iTunes store in 2005. You could save your game and the controls were a lot of fun.

Hello gentlemen.

So I've recently picked up pic related and am interested in playing my SNES and Genesis games through RGB connections.

I came across this adapter and am wondering, will all I need is this and some SCART cables for each platform?

https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/micomsoft-xrgb/european-scart-to-framemeister-xrgb-mini-passive-converter-for-sale

Also considering just having S-Video for N64 as I'm afraid modding it myself will be out of the question for fear of messing up during the modifaction.

Same thing applies to my NES Top Loader.

Also, anyone have particular configurations for each of their console setups? Resloutions, Scanline setups, sharpness, etc?

Any tips for a new owner of a Framemeiester would be helpful!

Some guys are working on SNES and Genesis component cables.

http://www.hdretrovision.com/

Who knows when they get it for sale, but you know.
>>
>>3006756
This looks pretty neat. I'll definitely bookmark it.

Would I need an adapter for the D-Terminal to throw these component cables through the Framemeister?

Seems like the project is pretty far along.

Do you prefer this game vanilla or with the 1.13 mod?

now playing 1.13 + Arulco Revisited with split up teams (Bull and two IMPs from Omerta through San Mona to Chitzena; third IMP, Mouse, Ira and Barry from Omerta to Drassen and the N-E SAM site)

Nice

I've never actually beaten the game even though I love it. I've decided to go back to vanilla and then try 1.13 after. It just changed the core mechanics too much for my taste.

I am going to play the Resident Evil series for the first time. Should I play the PS1 or Dreamcast versions of 2 and 3?

Dreamcast. No contest.
>>
>which version to play
Literally does not matter, it's all minute details.
>>
RE1 doesn't have a definite version, they all have pros and cons. I say do a first playthrough on the original NTSC-U PS1 release (non director's cut).

RE2 and 3, Dreamcast and PC are the best versions.

RE:CV you don't want to play.

What are some ridiculously obvious things you didn't notice until years later? I never caught on that Space Harrier took place in the same universe as Fantasy Zone despite the game saying with "WELCOME TO THE FANTASY ZONE!" each time you play until about a year ago.

Bowser is a turtle, not a dragon like i thought my whole childhood.

He's called "King Koopa" in SMW, and the Koopa are turtles. I never made this connection because i never paid attention to speech and text details in video games until i began to play and learned to love JRPGs last year.

I felt like an idiot after understanding this because if you look at him, it's really painfully obvious he's just a massive koopa with spikes on his back and some hair.
