Why were they pissed off? Are you retarded? Did you mean to type out Nintendo?

That seems more like an ad Sony made using FF7 as an example of their hardware being superior than Square making an ad competing against such massive JRPG hits on the N64 as Quest 64.
>>
>Hey Nintendo, we have the storage capacity to slap in tons of pre-rendered FMV all over the damn place that makes it seem like our consoles graphics are that much better than yours ya stupids.

Did Sony EVER license the CD Rom format to Nintendo? Don't Gamecube discs spin backwards or some shit? lol. Nintendo.

Made an s-video cable. Now I am in the process of making a RGBs cable, is there aywhere to buy just the connectors and pins? or do I have to buy cheap a/v cables and scavenge?

gutted a n64 rf modulator so I can fit the wires and caps cleanly.

You mean proprietary connectors like the Nintendo ones?

Got to cannibalize or buy chink specials.
>>
or remove and replace with non proprietary.
>>
>>3115595
You might as well just buy the cables premade.

Hi /vr/.

You know, I always saw that famous RPGs like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest and many others got a remastered version, revisited version, enhaced version, etc.

What I'm asking is: is out there a remaster for the Shin Megami Tensei games for the NES that I can play? I'm dying to try the series since the first release, I just can't handle NES rpgs, they are very rudimentary to me, maybe enhaced version fixed some hardware limitation for the time.

Feel free to make this thread a /smt/ thread if you want.

I think Megami Tensei only got remade for the SNES.

because you know, peersonal experiences from people who actually played the original games and the remakes will tell me wich one is the best one to play

That's why I opened the thread. Sorry if I did not make myself clear about the topic.

Is there a faster game than Recca in the nes/famicom catalog?
31 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
No there's not.
>>
recca your face
>>
is there a more over rated shmup than recca?

Just recently played through this for the first time, and it made me realize just how "forced" all the mario shit feels in the mario 2 USA remake. Sound design of dream factory fits way more into the aesthetic of the world, the characters are more interesting/fitting, the music is great, but I realized they added a few extra parts to the first level music in mario USA, which were my least favorite part of the song.
TLDR I think I like dream factory/doki doki panic more than Mario USA, anyone else feel the same, and why?

I probably prefer it. The whole mid-east vibe fits better with the DDP family than it does with Mario characters. It also bugged me that the grass was made red in SMB2 (which is arguably more interesting than the original's immobile black clumps), but they left the tufts at the top of the veggies as black.

I will admit, though, that some of my preference might be due to younger me being highly fascinated with DDP as the real Mario 2. Pretty sure it was the primary reason that I bought a Disk System back in the very early 2000s.

DID YOU KNOW SMB2 is my least favourite entry in the series?

You mean just the Mega Drive game.

The SNES one sucked, couldn't even use a sword.

Sorry about the off topic discussion, I just swung by to let you all know about the upcoming 4chan Spring babby cup.

As it stands, /vr/ has no manager and will subsequently be denied entry to the competition! I'm not a big /vr/ goer myself, but I don't know if you here on the board really like seeing the team.

If you do, stepping up isn't hard, the team is basically already all here and its just a matter of stepping up and saying you'll manage them.

If you don't, then just ignore this thread and have a nice day.

great fucking soccer game. love the power moves and ai. great with the four score adapter and more friends

idk i've just loved this one forever. easily the best basketball game to me. plays very arcade-like but at the same time more serious and realistic than nba jam.

I am not sure if it was called Kick Off or some other name but I remember playing a Neo Geo arcade game with soccer that was very entertaining. I think it's still worth playing to this day.

OP, the game of your pic is pretty cheap over here. Has anybody played it and if so, did you think it was a good soccer game? Why (not)?

I'm enjoying it so far but

>a Leprechaun appears out of nowhere and joins my party

I'm all about hidden stuff, but does the game really expect me to use Inspect on every single tile? I really don't like missing stuff but I'd also like to finish this game without using a guide.

Also, Shining thread I guess.

When I was a young'n my uncle dropped off this gem, and a Sega Saturn. So I wanted to play it of course. Come home, and my stepdad says my uncle took it back. I ask my uncle, he's like "NAH". Turns out my stepdad sold it for crack. Fuck this game and the memories attached

What type of enhancements can I experience playing OoT on an emulator? Some of the HD graphics packs look all right. I looked around for a version with shorter cutscenes, but apparently they haven't made that, even though that's the most useful thing I can think of. A lot of the hacks don't look all that good.
So what else is possible?

Do I suck, does this game have really well designed puzzles, or does this game have really shitty puzzles?

I honestly can't tell which.

At the end of the mine I gave up with the two switches, didn't figure out you had to jump on the engine a few times, and now I'm stuck here.

>>3114636
Some are, and some aren't.

If you're having trouble already then you may as well just fucking stop now, there are some incredibly precise execution based puzzles coming up. The jumping on the engine thing is directly told to you via something in the mines, but I haven't played Alundra in 2 years.

I would strongly recommend having a guide handy when playing Alundra though. Many of the puzzles are really ridiculous to solve.

I would actually advise not playing it, since I found it incredibly frustrating.
>>
>>3114640
The hint for the engine gives you the wrong pattern for the switches and tells you to "shake things up", so I was assuming they meant to "shake up" the pattern they were giving.

Turns out they meant "randomly press shit until you figure it out and then jump on the engine TWICE". What the shit?!

I'm always disappointed in Zelda games because they only ever scratch the surface of their possibilities, both in terms of combat and puzzles, even Master's Quests don't go far enough, so I thought Alundra would be the perfect game.
>>
>>3114658
Alundra's combat is bad. Enemies require too many hits.

Alundra's puzzles are fucking ridiculous to solve either by virtue of being insanely difficult, or by having twitch execution.

The first part gets alleviated once you get better weapons and magic (3 castings of the Fire Book kills the final boss iirc) or getting the Hero Sword, but until that point the game is a massive fucking slog.

So which was the biggest blunder?

32x, atleast the SuperGrafx looks nice and isn't an add-on.
>>
Considering the pc engine actually rivaled the super famicom in japan for a brief period and outsold the mega drive i'm going to have to say 32x.

PC Engine had more add-ons and console variations than the Mega Drive. The biggest problem with the 32X was the fact that it came out at the same time as the Saturn.
