This was the last good Mana game. It had beautiful music, the graphics and the atmosphere went hand-in-hand that made you feel like you were playing a painting, but fuck, most importantly it was fun as hell. I just don't know what happened to the Mana series, because LoM was the last time the thunder struck.

And got tired of the clunky controls, terrible voice acting, repetitive dialog ("I see" "sailor" like really? people not helping at all) and slow and boring music (only liked the menu theme though) the best part so far is playing those arcade games, does the game get any better?.

No. It was awful when it came out and it's worse now.

I went with the expectation of a good adventure game with fun time-sensitive sidequesting like in zelda majora's mask

How do you pick your route?

I've started playing it few days ago and the only route I've completed so far is Left->Right->Left->Left, seems like it's a harder game than Outrun 2. I'm thinking to beat all levels using these routes: LLLL, RLLL, RRLL, RRRL, RRRR

Near the end of the stage the road forks and you either veer left or right which takes you on a different path :^)

I usually have my route already picked out before I start depending on which ending I'm shooting for.
>>
>>2878426
it depends on the time left.

better times more right.
since left is an easier route,

NES consoles should be reissued by Nintendo, And the top 50 NES games of all time. Heaps of the best vintage toys are always being made new (transformers, rubicks cubes, monopoly etc) No pessimists allowed in this thread. Anything is possible

IF Nintendo did any sort of reissue with the NES you can sure as bet they'd go the route all the other companies went with their reissues and make a plug and play all in one. Not that, that's bad, but don't expect it to play all your NES games.

That's a big IF though.
>>
>>2886090
There's no fucking reason to Nintendo reissue an older console if they can just port their games to the newer ones.
>>
>>2886090
They have no need to, not when they can just churn out games via Virtual Console.

He's Rauru

He's a Sage reincarnated as an owl for the express purpose of helping the Hero of Time when he's finally born. The other prevailing theory is that he's simply Rauru in owl form.

I hold with the former.

This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!

>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.

1 MB,
I just got a hardware level SNES clone from the 90s which plays everything with 100% compatibility. This is not a glorified android emulator with cartdrige slots (those abhorrent things don't even deserve the honor of being called a clone), this is the real deal, a masterpiece of reverse engineering. Have any of you gotten anything as glorious as this piece of hardware?

This console is awfully rare and it has quite a history. I don't really know where it was manufactured, but it was either in Brazil or China. This thing is so amusing because I don't really know of any other real commercial clone of the SNES. I believe there aren't many units left, I estimate there should be around 2000 at most, this it is extremely unique, being the only real SNES clone I personally know, aside from the counterfeit SNES (it does exist).

Male nipples were not offensive at all during the 80s. Male nipples were commonly seen in Disney movies, even, and many other cartoons. It is not not considered offensive for a male to bare his chest now and it wasn't offensive at all in the 80s.

2 MB,
What does /vr/ think?
Me personally thinks hd-upscales with epsx/pcsxr look good in screenshots - for 3d games - but are atrocious ingame because of the jitter, despite gte accurancy. They are a no go for 3d games with prerendered bgs and 2d pixel art games.

Both widescreen hacks in pcsxr or mednafen suck, because they cause slow down and frame-drops and mess up 3d games with prerendered bgs.

Mednafen is very good and accurate. I like it. But it looks really low-res. It also does not support antialiasing.
I like to enhance the picture of mednafen for 3d games...

1. Mednafen with a front-end and accurate filters.

2. A PS2 with its enhancement features on.

3. A PSX with the best output you can mod it to support and a high-quality display (anything but LCD).

>>2890908

In that order, BTW. Hell, it's also prolly from least to most expensive too, but I can't be entirely sure for a given geographical pricing market.

Here is a comparison of the Bicubic Catmull-Rom filter and the Bicubic B-Spline by way of illustration.
Now imagine this filter in effect in for example games like Final Fantasy IX and its prerendered backgrounds.
This filter may be blurry, but it makes textures really smooth and the output interpolation really consistent instead of uneven, which I value the most.

38 KB,
Why exactly is this thing so expensive?

Surely the tech used can't be that much. Is this just that rare or does the hardware actually warrant the price?
188 replies and 15 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
It's not rare it's a currently manufactured product. It requires a very fast processor so yes the tech being used really is appreciable. There's really no competition though so they can charge whatever they want, which is probably a matter of setting the price at a point where their production all gets bought up. The fact that they have "budget" models like xrgb mini tells you it's not just BS markup though.
>>
Make your own, charge less, and out compete them then, OP.

>Why pink hair?
To provide the player with a strong visual anchor. There's a lot of greens and browns in the game, with brown hair as seen in the official artwork the player character would blend in too much. With pink hair it is easily trackable even with peripheral vision.
