Also on PC, although that version is essentially a completely different game since it was handled by a different studio, with virtually no communication between the two developers. This was frankly one of the most bizarre porting decisions I've ever seen.
Do you use arcade sticks for general /vr/ gaming and not just for fighting games/shmups/mame?
I've found it works really well. Mega Man games in particular feel really nice.

Love em for fighters and beat em ups and often enough for platformers.
Really have been meaning to pick up an NES advantage because it translates well to most NES games too and I haven't used one since something like 1995.
It really does something to make the game feel more lively

I like to use my SNES advantage for JRPG grinding since its the only turbo controller i own.

Phantasy Star for me. It has better, more interesting themes and settings, and I like how there's a consistent plotline that has an immensely satisfying end. Final Fantasy has great gameplay ideas in some games, but it's like it's trying too hard when it comes to setting and plot. Phantasy Star has an understated, effortless style of pulling stuff that FF beats you over the head over and over in an attempt to manipulate you into caring about the plot. FF is good too, but PS is better for me.

So it occurred to me that the N64 has a 6 button setup right out of the box. Are there any good fighting games that take advantage of this?

There isn't any Capcom or SNK fighting game on the N64.
But there's KI Gold, Rakuga Kids, Flying Dragon, Super Robot Spirits, War Gods, MACE, Dark Rift, G.A.S.P, Fighter's Destiny, Clayfighter 63 1/2, and a few others.
Most of them are mediocre 3D fighters that don't come close to Virtua Fighter or Tekken, but Flying Dragon has a SD mode with RPG elements that's actually really fun, better than the main game.
The more traditional 2D games you'll find are KI and Rakuga Kids (which is actually a hilarious underrated game).
Oh yeah, there's also Mortal kombat Trilogy and MK4.

Because Japan is the country that took game development seriously instead of shitting out bad games.
Probably because western developers largely came from a computer game background where games were lower budget and they had to deal with serious problems like one button joysticks.

Couldn't find any threads related to Metroid and I'm looking to getting into the series. I want to start with the original, though in my research I found that Zero Mission is a remake of the original. Should I play Zero Mission instead of the original, or is it like playing Twin Snakes instead of MGS?

I did when I was a teenager but I snapped out of it when I threw a controller causing it to bounce off the wall and right into my face.

How come games like Fallout 1, Boulders Gate, and Deus Ex aged like shit and are no longer fun to play while games like OOT and Super Mario 64 are hella fun and still enjoyable to this day?
