That screenshot is suppose to have reflections on the floor, whats wrong with your version?
This game just blew my mind on so many levels. Nothing else I can think of really made such an impressive leap except perhaps Doom 3

Soul Calibur looked way better for a launch title surely
How do multiple discs work? With FFVII, for example, you have access to the same overworld and the same enemies with the same characters, for the most part, all using the same maps and models. So both discs have to hold all that data, don't they? So what's the extra room for? Cutscenes?

>So both discs have to hold all that data, don't they? So what's the extra room for? Cutscenes?
you just answered your own question
>>2897068
Yes, cutscenes is what takes the most space. Without all those hours of cutscenes, FF7 would probably hold onto a single disc.

No probably about it. It does.

i guess she's the phantasy star special sauce
She's pretty badass, yeah.
Now she's stuck making Japan-only mobile games. Life isn't fair.
Is it worth it to mod my console or should I just get an existing S-video? Live in Alaska so sourcing a scart tv is not an option.
Just use S-video, it's a huge step up. You are honestly wasting your time modding for Component/RGB with a regular SNES
The SNES doesn't really shine with rgb as much as Segas consoles. S video on the SNES is really very good, using quality cables. Avoid any s video cable that includes a composite video lead...most on eBay or anywhere else online do this so look carefully.

The project is still on track! Progress has been very good!

Clarify this please.
The RE2 scrapped beta that was leaked is playable right? It's just buggy, and very incomplete. This project aims to make it a full playable game right? So it's like 75% beta plus 25% fan content?
>>2890958
Unfortunately, they do not own a copy of the final build (80% completion), but we do have a large amount of resources from it (video, pictures, and text). In my conservative estimate, I would concur with your percentages. However, the 'fan content' is not completely arbitrary; it is based on actual designs and plans from Capcom.
Which of the retro Game Boy models is your favorite?
>Original Game Boy
Thick "brick" design, needs four AA batteries, comparatively lower battery life than other models, "puke green" screen, screen is prone to ghosting, white / grayish plastic is prone to discoloration
>Game Boy Pocket
Substantially smaller than the original, uses just two AAA batteries, has a larger screen than both the original and Color models, screen is no longer "puke green," comes with or without...

Why do you do this?

because I'm not completely autistic.
because the highest level in SMRPG is 30

Because at level 99 I can cast Bayoeen and Jyou Ranbu at will without needing a maxed out SP bar.
What's your favorite RE clone?
Nocturne for PC. It's maybe too much of a shooter to call it a clone, but it I doubt it would exist without RE.
Dino Crisis, obviously.
[/spoiler]Cold fear a RE4 clone with the arcadey feel of RE3
Since Doombabbies have their own threads, let's start one for the superior series.
What's your favorite game, weapon and game type?
Game: 99
Gamemode: DM
Stage: Healpod ][, HyperBlast, Turbine
Song: Superfist
Weapon: Pulse Rifle/Flak Gun
FOV: 115-140
Skin: Soldier/Rankin (red)
Bot level: Adept-Masterful
Specific enough?
UT99 is welcomed in Doom threads
>>2881345
I remember playing UT with up to 15 other assholes, then one day I read in a gaming magazine that a new console (I think it was the 360, I'm not sure to be honest) would allow up to 8 players games, it took me years to understand why were they so excited.
Anyway, my favorite game mode was domination and my favorite map was deck16, however I played a lot of facing worlds because my friends loved capture the flag and I didn't really care. My favorite weapon was the Railgun.
For someone who's bad at searching hidden stuff and just wants to have fun, are Gems really important or I can totally ignore them?
Also, Crash thread.
>>2878950
You don't need to collect the gems to enjoy Crash 1, but they can unlock additional areasand grant a alternate ending when all are collected.
Some of the gems are more annoying to get than fun, so if you're after fun then I suggest only getting the ones that are easy to obtain.
Honestly Crash Bandicoot is one of those games where getting the gems is worth it and fun. It has nothing in common with collectables in other games like collectathons.
It's more like finding hidden paths which will offer you an interesting platforming challenge. Two of the hidden gems even unlock completely new optional levels, which are fun. And finding the "Hidden" gems is not so much searching but more just surviving.
Like when you get 3 cortex heads, you'll be taken to a difficult bonus stage. You've only got one shot, but if you finish it, you get a shiny gem which will unlock a secret level. Crash is a corridor platformer, you're never going to be "Searching" but instead the game will test your skills and sometimes offer an alternate route for you to explore.
>>2878950
That's what makes Crash stand out among other 3D platformers, among other things... You don't have to collect anything to progress, and even the sequels have absolutely minimal mandatory collecting.

>How about and MS-DOS gaming general?
>i personally think was the golden era of PC gaming, so many classics were born there
In truth, only 91-95 was good with the 80s being a time when PCs were better at Lotus 123 than video games. The Windows 9x era also spawned at least as many classics.

Puh-lease. Late DOS was great, even if you count Build titles only (and dtey are just the tip of an iceberg).
>recruit a bunch of new soldiers to replace casualties
>go after an alien colony

I finally bought a PlayStation, since I was a Nintendo kid and never had one growing up, and I'm looking for some game recommendations. What are the must owns for the system?
Games I already have/played:
>Parappa the Rapper
>Um Jammer Lammy
>Metal Gear Solid
Small list, as you can see - I really missed out on a whole generation here so I'm excited to see what there is.
Any genre is good, I just want to pick up what I missed out on.
If I had aps1 the first games I'd get would be gradius gaiden, zanac, raiden dx and einhander

Did you really expect them to re-render the entire game for a Steam release? lol
>>2899719
Honestly I'd love these ports if the graphical style wasn't so damn mixed due to old and new assets
>>2899735
This is all old assets with a filter, though.
Ebay prices seem astronomically high.
My local game stores don't price much better, they are usually piss poor condition cartridges as well.
What do I do?
Make more money or buy a flashcart.
