What's a good /vr/ fighting game to get really seriously into?
I played SF4 online for some time but eventually got bored, and I really fucking like the spritework of earlier titles.
Long story short, I've been trying to get gud at the Alpha series. Would you consider this a good fighting game? Is it still played on Fightcade and shit like that?

I started Fallout 1 a couple of days ago and played for a few hours before losing interest. Made it to the Boneyard.
Holy fucking shit Deathclaws are the scariest motherfuckers there is. Fallout 3 Deathclaws are teddybears compared to this.

I haven't played that far in yet, I cleared the scorpion cave, got dogmeat, killed gizmo and am currently in the process of fucking up the great khans.
I find it a tough game to marathon I like to play for an hour take a break and come back to it later.
Is it just me or was Fallout 2 a lot more imbalanced than Fallout 1's combat? 2 had too many mobs and lacked decent early game equipment.
Is there any way of getting MS entertainment package on modern machines without emulators yet?

i haven't played all of them,
have you tried simply copying the files out of the VM, in many cases only the installer wont run on modern stuff, and you can play the game if you copy the instaled folder.
but i would bet that alternatives exist for all those games, or at least for the good ones, between open source and flash i have played a few remakes of the ones i liked

You can start the second game if you want, as I recall. However, if you get 108 stars of destiny in Suikoden 1 you get an small added bonus.

Skip it and play a good jrpg instead. There are plenty to choose from. If you love anime that much just watch one of the hundreds of series' out there.
Is there a retro equivalent to Dark Souls? By that, I mean a game that might have been considered notoriously challenging back in its day, and has a similar setting or gameplay style as DS.
Something like Ghosts 'n Goblins, King's Field or Vagrant Story immediately comes to mind. What else?
